Magisk works, search on XDA
Hi, i bought a Nova 2 (German version) last week. I managed to root via magisk, get all original img files from full update here in thread, and extract them via huawei extractor tool.
Everything i needed works. I have magisk and root, xposed with working gravitybox and some other modules.
So it's possible to root without a need of twrp or other recovery.
I unlocked bootloader with dc-unlocker in seconds. It's a paid software but worth the money.

Hi guys, ther's a way to root Htc 10 Oreo with SuperSu by Chainfire? I've tried the procedure for Nougat without results. I need SuperSu to use Sunshine and I've read Sunshine is not compatible with Magisk.
yes after Oreo update battery drain and heating has increased. Regret updating to Oreo.
Nevermind - found it in another thread.
Hi
I was checking to see if I can find the original recovery file anywhere in case I want to apply an OTA.
I can't seem to find out which version I have installed when having Oreo installed..
Does anybody have a copy or know where to find it. My htc10 version is cid: htc__34 mid: 2PS620000?

No OEM Unlock in developer options
Can't seem to unlock the bootloader for the life of me. Tried everything listed to no avail. Developer options does not have the OEM unlock option anywhere and i've done multiple factory resets and reset into recovery mode/reset, etc.

Hi there, don't bother with root softwares such as these. For the MIUI Oreo ROM you need the latest version of Magisk or SuperSU. Whichever one you decide needs to be flashed in TWRP.
Browse the Mix 2 guides on XDA there's plenty information on this topic.

Just do a backup and root it forever, then you can use TitaniumBackup who backups everything.
Do it.

You can actually get away with not flahsing TWRP. You can setup the fastboot drivers on your PC, download the TWRP img and in CMD just boot to the TWRP image "fastboot boot TWRP.img" for example. It will boot to TWRP one time where you can utilize it's flashing capability but once you reboot there's no trace of it and you still have stock recovery.

Root works fine and GPay is still working so you can go further, unlock bootloader, flash twrp and the correct magisk version that's it!

Hello people, I need help.
Just recovered from a major eye operation, so it's hard for me to search and see things.
I want to install root and recovery, I have a unlocked bootloader, and did originally root when all you had to do is use adb and booted the IMG file, use the twrp installer to make recover stick and use Magisj zip to root....but after one UI 2.1 everything has changed a lot now....
Can someone please tell me what the latest magisk is, and what steps and stuff I use now to root and install recovery?
Again, I got a note 10+ 5g
Thank you friends
