That's all I can figure out. When I have Settings>Sound>Advanced>Charging sounds toggled on, it doesn't make any sound when plugging in the charger or when unplugging the charger. I've toggled it off, rebooted, toggled it back on, rebooted... nothing. All of the other sounds - Dial pad tones, Screen locking sounds, Touch sounds - work but not the Charging sounds. All I can think is either Google or LG forgot to put the sound files on the phone? :silly::silly:
Aside from the sounds, you would think that the Charging Animation when the phone is turned off could be upgraded. Even the HTC M9 had a nice animation.

I am not sure what sounds they're supposed to make.
If the sounds aren't there, it was Google, not LG that forgot them...

I can confirm there is no charging sound
the sound is only for wireless charging, been that way for awhile now.
obviously the phone doesnt have wireless charging, so there will be no sound.

Interesting. Every phone I've ever owned had a sound option for plugging in and unplugging the charging cable. I assumed that's what it was for on the XL2 too. But being my first Google phone, I shouldn't assume anything I guess.

Nexus and Pixel phones never had a charging plug in/out sound, just for Qi wireless charging.

I want a wireless charger for my phone because I'm always picking it up and putting it back down on my desk. I'm kinda sick of plugging and unplugging it, so a wireless charger would be nice. Thing is, I don't want one that's going to beep at me every time I pick it up or put it down and it's hard to tell from Amazon reviews if a particular charger does this or not.
Any suggestions?

The Air Dock on the Indiegogo site seems good. I've just bought two, one to use on the desk and other for the car. Shipping though in May so i'll have to wait.

The Nokia DT-900 works a treat with the N5, even with my Diztronic TPU case. Only thing is, since 4.4.2 (I think) the phone automatically makes a beep when you begin charging it. Only way to disable this is through an Xposed module, which you can find here: http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.eldarerathis.xposedmodule.wirelesschargingxposed
It's a nice little app that lets you customise how the screen behaves when you begin/finish charging, and whether you want a sound played or not.
Hope that helps.
This one BEEPS. (I like it for the CAR)

The verizon LG pad works, but does have a beep. I cut the speaker out on that one. It's a great charging pad other than the modding I had to do lol.
The Tylt Vu, orb, and Nexus wireless charger all do not beep, however, the phone does chime if your phone is below 95% in battery level. Just a FYI.

Pretty much any Qi charger except the ones shaped like a "Hockey Puck" won't beep. Those are the only ones I've seen so far that have a speaker built in to the charger pad.
The phone will also make a connection sound as well. Unless you have your phone on silent.
Just look for a Qi charger that has a 1A (1000mA) Output and you're good to go. The lower the mA output, the slower it will charge.

I can vouch for this. No beep whatsoever. Only a very white light when charging.
I have a rooted stock 4.4.2 Nexus 7, and I'm encountering a really weird problem where there's a persistent high-pitched whining noise that seems to come out of the speakers whenever it's plugged into a wall charger. I tried the stock charger + cable that came with my device as well as 2 other third-party chargers all with the same results. Meanwhile, charging it via USB connected to my computer doesn't produce that sound at all.
Does anyone know if there are any tweaks or settings that could be causing this? I looked in the FAQ, and I only see a giant thread about static while at low volumes, but this looks to be a completely separate problem since it's unrelated to volume settings & it happens when I have no sound playing at all. Googling this returns a bunch of results with people's chargers making noises, but not the Nexus 7 itself.
If anyone else has had this problem and can offer any insight, that'd be appreciated. It's not the biggest deal in the world, since I just have to make sure I'm not in the same room when it's charging so I don't get annoyed, but if I can fix it, that'd be great.

Maybe a ground loop. Can you ground your tablet and see if that helps. Just a theory at the moment.

Sorry for the dumb question, but to ground it, just have it touching metal?
Also, a new piece of information: I found that the noise only happens when the tablet is fully charged (100%) and still plugged in, so it happened last night while I left it in to charge after going out. I'll have to wait for it to fully charge again before I can test this theory today.

Not an extra ground, isolate the ground. Make sure the tablet and charging brick are grounded well. Is your outlet/house grounded well? Can you use an outlet with nothing else plugged into that line?
You say this only happens when fully charged and not until? I wonder if there is a problem with the battery perhaps over charging. Have you switch charging bricks? Switched cords? Does the charging brick get warm? How about the back of the tablet?
Edit: Are you using the official cord and charging brick? That can make a difference. If not what are the specks of the brick you are using?

Another new piece of information discovered today: The high-pitched whine only happens when the battery is 100% AND when the screen is on. When the screen is off, everything is fine.
So far I have tried:
1. Directly plugging into the outlet the stock Nexus 7 charging brick & cord.
2. Using the following bricks: Stock charger, Anker 40W 5-port USB charger, Amazon Kindle charger, Moto G stock charger. I've also tried all the cables that came with these devices as well as any other microUSB cables I've got lying around the house.
3. My device is not hot at all, and neither are the chargers.
Thanks a lot for your help so far! Looks like what I need to do is to turn the screen off to charge my device, and then unplug it when I want to turn the screen on & use it.
So... this old problem is back with a twist. Basically the thing beeps and wakes the screen up when it's done charging and keeps doing it on a timer or something.
I'd like to disable this but the solution that worked on ZVD (Xposed framework and G2 Xposed) doesn't work anymore.
Anyone have any ideas on how i'd disable this rather annoying behavior?
Mine used to do this all the time. As it turns out the charging cable had gone bad. I replaced it and it has never done it since. You may want to try a new cable.

Bother... The problem is that i'm not using a standard cable as I shoehorned one of those wireless conversion kit antennas in between the case and phone. I'll have to remove it and plug it in to see what happens. (still have the original charger and cable)
Whelp, thanks for the insight.

Yup... plugged it into the charger yesterday when I got home and it only binged at me once when it was done charging.
I'll have to do some testing and see what was causing the issue, the charging pad or the wireless charger. I'll have to try the other one I have.
SO yeah, I've seen where people have had software issues causing this on the Note 8, and S8 models, is it a bug that crept into the S9 as well? The tech at the Sprint store verified the cleanliness and dryness of the port, thinks it's the port, and they won't have parts to fix it for probably a month or so. I REALLY don't want to send it in to be fixed, so I bought a couple wireless chargers.

It it showing constantly or only when a cable is plugged in? If it's with a cable, have you tried other cables? I had my phone give me that message earlier today when plugging in an incompatible hub. The hub wasn't even connected to anything.

All the time. It has a popup with sound when you plug it in. The rest of the time, it's just a notification in the tray.

Yeah, tried rebooting, wiped cache, power down all the way, multiple times. Tried plugging the cable in while booting. It looks to be charging while plugged in and powered down.
So, the message went away, and it would charge with 2 different chargers, normal speed, not fast charge. Would not work with a charger I have here at home. None are Samsung chargers, but all are QC 3.0, which will report as fast charging on the phone. Then today it charged fast in the truck, and the one at home works, but only slow speed.
I'm not going to stress over it as long as the fast wireless charging keeps working. The battery life is more than enough to get me through a day, and I'm ordering stuff to integrate wireless chargers into the vehicles.
Thanks for reading and trying to help!

Yeah, I had tried the original cord and charger. whatever it was effected the phone before even plugging it in. The message would be there in the notifications, then plugging the cable in would set off an "alarm" telling me to unplug it and let it dry.
A couple weeks later and it is working just fine, charging with pretty much any cord, and charger. Ugh. I hope it stays that way! LOL At least Sprint DID give me a pretty good discount on a 2 pack of wireless chargers, which is what I use most of the time, now.

Thumbs up!
So, I've had this problem with my new Galaxy s9 as well. Here's the specifics - this only happens IF the phone dies from running out of power. If I let the battery drain on accident, I plug in the device...new cord/charger, original cord/charger, doesn't matter...and it shows the charging symbol for just a second, and then warning there's moisture in the charging port. There's not... If I set the phone on top of a wireless charging pad for a few mins, it charges just fine.
All I have to do is get 3 - 4 % so I can power on the device and get to the home screen. If I can get to the home screen, I can plug the phone in with the cord/charger and no problems.
I just did a warranty replacement because this problem is real annoying. I don't let the phone run out of power often, but sometimes when I'm traveling for work or camping with scouts, it happens. So, before I sent my old phone back for the warranty swap, I let the new phone run out of power and then tried to plug it in. Same error!!
If anyone has this problem follow this trick. "connect the charger half to the charging port." that is it. works fine to me..
Why does this pixel just keep making the charging sound like as if iv just connected it, over and over, it's annoying as hell!

What is that? You mean the official charging stand?
If you charge via cable, you probably got a loose contact. Check that. Clean the USB port of the phone. Then change your cable, then change the powerbrick. If the problem still persists, it's probably the phones USB port that has a defect. In that case contact Google.

Yeah iv tried various cables to and my charging port is super clean inside to, my cable is quite a good fit and tight, I constantly get the charging sound and charging animation about every 20 seconds, it discharges then charges again every 20 secs, I'll buy a new charging brick to see if that resolves it

I'd test some alternate USB ports first if you have any, but yeah, that may be the culprit.
