Hello, new to the forum!
I've owned since last year a Sony Xperia Z3. It was pretty good at first, but it became more laggy as the time went by and it often overheats when running heavy apps. The battery is still OK, but doesn't feel as long-lasting as it were in its first few months.
I wanted to replace it with something newer but less pricey, and I read about the Lenovo P2 a couple of months ago. It seemed awesome for the price, with amazing battery life (I also like that the SD625 is efficient and doesn't easily overheat [?]) and a great AMOLED screen, according to reviews. But I read it had some weird bugs, which I'm not sure are all software.
One of them was audio being out of sync from video. Possibly it was only on the YouTube app. Was that fixed by the latest update?
Another was the speaker sound apparently getting distorted after an update. How is it now?
They also claim one of the updates harmed the battery life. Is that true? Do you feel it holds a charge worse now?
There were a couple of other things, but I don't remember all of it.
Also, yesterday I was looking at some other phones and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4x (SD625) seemed really nice to me! But, while I understand these are budget phones and thus don't expect it to be top-of-the-line, I want the camera to be decent+ and to my understanding, Xiaomi did a sneeky thing and switched the phone's camera module throughout the batches from Sony–which was said and shown to be the better one–to a Samsung and finally to an Omnivision one. I've seen comparison photos and it didn't seem too good, so the fact that they want you to pay the same price for a worse phone than the one early reviewers had is a letdown.
I looked at the GSMArena camera comparison tool and frankly, the P2's photos looked better than the Note 4's. I don't know what camera module is in the P2, but I assume the unit GSMArena used for their Note 4 profile is an earlier one, and thus is the Sony version. Perhaps they just took bad snaps or had a bad unit, because it seemed blurrier than I would have expected.
Anyway, sorry for the long mumbling and thanks in advance!
EDIT: Well, I now saw the thread with people complaining that video playback also started to skip frames and stutter, and apparently some unknown process keeps running in the background, causing this issue and draining the battery. Are any of these issues present in the available custom ROMs?

Audio sink issue is fixed with latest official s244 nouget update.
Speaker performs as best in this price point. Loud and clear. No distortion at all.
Battery back up is only getting better as custom kernels are also getting released.
Stock, I get around 12-14 hours screen on time on a course of 3 days continuous use. No charging in between.
Screen quality is best. Good media viewing and gaming experience.
+Extremely high number of cistom roms are available now for this device.

Hello, thanks for the reply! Well, from what I read regarding the possible audio distortion - it likely isn't the best at this price range, as many other options don't have this issue. The question is whether it (and the other issues often quoted) happens because of official firmware bugs and thus whether it is absent from the custom ROMs
I guess you're using the stock, so perhaps other users would have a more clear answer to these.

I had used custom roms. I am not using them as daily drives as I need to gestures and properly working led notification for daily use.
Custom roms available for P2 are almost stable and can be used for daily use if you don't need those 2 features I mentioned. Audio quality is good if u use Dolby Atmos or v4a.

But you did experience distortion from the speaker at some point? Did it also happen with the custom ROMs you tried?
And I actually have another question now: I read that it's better to buy the global P2a42 version if you're outside of China, but that many sellers take the Chinese P2c72 and simply change the firmware to the global one, then calling it "Global P2".
I can already see that there are band differences, and that not all of my local LTE bands are supported in the Chinese P2 (band 7 is missing, I didn't check regarding non-LTE bands). Are there any other differences?
And someone claimed that the 64gb/4gb RAM units are all by hardware Chinese P2c72. Is that true? I can't even find someone selling a non-64gb P2.
I'm on the latest firmware an have no problems at all.
Android.system and media.codec is consuming a lot of battery giving me only 5 hours of screen on time. Can anybody help me with this

What version of P2 you have? P2a42 or the Chinese P2c72?
Seeing how many different reports about bugs being fixed or not come from current users, it makes me think maybe it has something to do with the version of your unit and its compatibility with the firmware.
And I can't find any normal seller of the P2a42 version, what the hell...

Well, the version sold in the UK must have been the actual ROW version. I can't find it available to me anywhere! And where it might be – it is sold for a crazy amount of money (and let's be real, it covers more frequencies but it is just 32gb vs 64gb). Why is this? Lenovo must still be manufacturing the P2a42 as it is still sold in East Asian stores, but I can't find any of them that ships abroad. Well, I found one Malaysian store that ships the P2a42 internationally, but it costs $300 already without the shipping and I'm from Israel, so they might not even ship to me (and they use DHL, which means 100% chance I'll have to pay an extra 17% when it arrives...).
It's really starting to seem to me like many of the complaints SOME of the userbase has is from using the non-ROW unit with a ROW ROM. Otherwise, I can't explain why everyone is saying they have the latest firmware but one is person is experiencing weird bugs and the other isn't.
And in specific regards to the frequency band coverage, I don't understand some of these Chinese sellers. Are they lying about the specifications, are they oblivious to the actual specifications, are do they just have access to some third kind of model? This frequency-support information for the P2a42 and then for the P2c72 came from the website pdadb.net (I found the links on XDA), and then there is the citation found on gearbest.com
This is some incoherent amalgam of the frequencies supported by either model, plus band 4 which isn't originally cited for either of them (though GSMArena does mention it, but it doesn't distinguish between the models and perhaps it's incorrect).
If you care about Netflix you must know that on this device you can only watch it in SD as HD would require better DRM certification which this phone lacks
Bought mine from Three UK for £200. Updated to Nougat ROW.
Everything works fine. No bugs. 4G including VOLTE works.
Very happy with this phone. A bargain for £200.

No. Video playback is perfectly smooth no matter where I play it from (youtube, mx player, vlc etc)

That only makes me believe more that the bugs some users keep reporting only occur on the P2c72 model, perhaps after it's flashed with the international ROM. Otherwise it's just a really inconsistent quality control on Lenovo's part.
I'm trying to get my hands on the P2a42 model, but basically no one is selling these outside of South East Asia and India. I found a couple of eBay listings and they're way too expensive (if it even ships to Israel).
Then there is one guy from the UK who put his "like new, only used for month" P2 for auction. He didn't enable shipping for Israel, but I asked him whether he will ship (in case I'll bid and win). He says it would be OK, but he hasn't returned since the morning with a possible shipping quote.
I never buy used phones, but I thought if it's the only viable option for this P2, in truly good condition and for a reasonable price, then maybe (the current bid is already £150, though, and I'm not sure I should go much higher for this when it's used).

What? This is weird. How can a device have the certification to watch Netflix but only up to a certain resolution?
I had P2a42 4GB-32GB version for about half a year ( 12/2016-06/2017 ) and it was great, no problems . Sold it only because the camera was nothing special. I now have LG G5se and have to charge it twice a day. Want to buy P2 again but with this bug i'm not realy sure if it would be a good idea.
Hope it only affects asian version.

You can watch Netflix on any device but in order to access hd and higher resolutions your device has to have l3 wide one security, you can check your security level with the drminfo app. This is mostly an issue with Chinese manufacturers.
You can still watch it but not in hd

Well, I downloaded the app and on my Xperia Z3 it says (under Google Widevine Modular DRM) Security Level L1. Is that what you were referring to, and does that mean Netflix doesn't allow my Z3 to stream in HD because of the DRM?
I don't watch Netflix on my phone too often, though I thought it possibly looks lower than HD – though it doesn't bother me too much on the smaller screen.
But I did google "Netflix DRM" after you mentioned this and some results about rooted devices not being able to run/download the Netflix app due to DRM change came up.
And does anyone know of some service, in India, which allows you to deliver an item you purchased from a non-international store to their own address and then they ship it internationally to you?
I barely find any options for a real P2a42, but there is this Indian website Flipkart where they sell it for a reasonable price, only problem is they solely ship within India. I don't remember how are these called, but I heard of a couple US-based warehouses through which you can ship (for example) Amazon items which normally can't be shipped to you.
You can find the P2 on sale on gearbest for 208$. I'm thinking about selling my Moto Z Play and buy a new Lenovo p2.

Yeah, but that is the Chinese version. They just changed the ROM to the international one.
Check the supported frequency bands on a different website to see if the P2c72 model will actually work with your local cellular network, but either way they both explained how OTA updating won't work with the units they sell, and I think there might be a higher chance for the reported bugs to happen on these modded Chinese P2's.

The F3 looks a lot like the Galaxy S6, but seems different enough to not be called a clone. Specifications of the phone include a 5-inch HD display, the new MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM and a 2200mAh battery. Cameras, or at least the 13 mega-pixel main camera on the rear, will be a Samsung unit — a far cry from the usual IMX214 that you get to see.
Pricing is set at US$149, which although isn’t crazy impressive, does sound good for a phone with a decent set of specs and more importantly, good build quality, which we hope will be the case with the Doogee F3. Surprisingly, there’s no mention of a fingerprint scanner which seems to have become stable for Chinese phones. (Source: http://www.gizchina.com/2015/06/26/doogee-f3-launch-specs)

Ok, any idea how to solve that? Some people are talking about flashing
GAPPS. But for that you need to have root I suppose.
is there anyone who rooted this phone? (and how, with which app?)
There are 2 variants stated by google.
One using SuperSU, the other srsRoot or something like that.
I'm sorry i can't post links since i'm a newbie.
I also have issues with the camera apps.
Will try testing it and see what logcat has to say on the issue.
I had a chinese recovery mode, so I can't install SuperSU from zip
SuperSU installed form Google Play has "no SU binary installed... you need to manually re-root"
srsroot isn't have connection with ADB device
aplications like KingRoot says that there is a problem with root and break
I don't know how I should to do...

Depends on where you're from.
I'm from the EU, so i picked EU-direct DealExtreem. However, if you prefer that the phone has a longer warranty time than 6 months, like DX offers, <- okay i was wrong here. Just spoke with the CS and they told me it ha 1 year of warranty.
then i'd recommend you go here and pick a store you find good.
I see you get 12 months of warranty at DealsMachine.com, banggood.com, pandawill and Gearbest. I believe most of these stores are good, if you're willing to get shipped from china, i think banggood also has overseas warehouses.

Thanks for this info. I have noticed that a recent OTA update will resolve these issues. Unfortunately I cancelled my order already because of continuous postponement of shipment. Now I ordered an Umi Emax Mini. Maybe I will try the Doogee F3 Pro in the near future.
I am an owner of a doogee f3 pro. It was true that the phone classified quite a lot of apps as incompatible, but this problem was completely solved with the recent (17/11/2015) OTA update. Benefits of the phone: OTA updates anailable. Very fast, very nice full hd display and also very good camera and video. Beautiful phone with metal frame and glass back. The gsm network signal is also very good. In fact, its the best i have ever seen!! I could even made phone calls in some places where with other phones i would only get "emergency calls only." Now, the not so good things: Battery is not impressive at all. I think it was needed a bigger battery for an octa core phone. You can make out a whole day with medium use only (ex only phone calls and limited use of internet and games). GPS locks quickly on 19, even on 20 satellites (GPS+GLONASS) with very good signal and gps accuracy of 2, sometimes even 1 meter! The gps performance on an android device can be measured easily and with great accuracy using gps tools from google play store. This is the best gps performance i have ever seen on a smartphone!!! an. Wifi signal is, however, lower than other android phones. Tested with plenty of 2.4 ghz wifi routers. If you are near the router, no problem. But if you are, for example, in a place where with other phones you are connected with only one or two wifi signal bars, with this phone you will have lost signal completely. Back speaker volume is loud enough, but sound quality could have been better. Front speaker is fine. And a last thing that it does not have a magnetic field sensor. If you are not using any apps that need a compass (ex google sky), then not a problem at all. Otherwise, you cannot use this kind of apps. In conclusion, its a great phone with only limitations battery life and the lo wifi signal. Could lo wifi signal be fixed with an OTA update? Lets see if doogee will take some action.

No solution so far. I cannot know if it is a hardware or software issue. I send message to doogee official and they told me that they will solve it with a software update. Lets see if its indeed a software issue and if they can solve it with an OTA update. Except this small issue, it seems to be a very good phone. I am generally very satisfied.

I've had my Le Pro 3 for over a week now and just published my full detailed video review which covers pretty much everything from the design, cameras, dual loudspeakers, benchmarks, GPS and wifi range and speeds.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfTIx-DWcmo
I also ran a speed test and comparison against my Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus just to see how they compared as both have Snapdragon 821's and 4GB of RAM.
Overall it's a very decent mobile however, it still has the flaws from the Le Max 2, large black bezels, no MicroSD or 3.5mm port are deal breakers for some. Audio from the type-c to 3.5mm adaptor is very clean and sounds great. No static and loud too.
The camera is a bit of a let down, no OIS still and while it can take some decent photos in good light, low light and video is not the greatest for a flagship mobile. The Chinese need to really step up their game on the camera department. I wouldn't by this mobile for the best camera, I would buy it for good performance and great battery life. I was able to get around 11 hours of SoC (continuous)

Two days with It and i like It a lot.
In my experience 6:30 of screen with 4G and almost without wifi.
Sorry for my english.
Thanks for the review. Maybe the Pro3 is not the best phone ever made. But it seems to be very very good, will most likely not explode and - taking into account the price - there is simply no competition. Hopefully, my phone will be delivered soon ...
I've received it today...very beautiful and work really good. We need an international ROM however.
I have this problem...it doesn't let me change or delete default APN. A problem I read is already present in other EUI smartphone someone has solved this Problem?

Thanks for that great review. Just some questions. Believe there are some like me who do not have access to LeEco products but are still keen on buying from an online reseller but have some concerns.
1. Are there any noticeable hardware issues? - understand that there are some complaints recently even on the le 2 that the display was not installed properly. Wondering if there are other types of defects that could render the device unusable for the obsessive compulsive people out there
2. What sort of rom is your unit using? - Importers/international sellers are known to meddle with the device to cater to the demands of their target demographic especially to those outside of china, hence, they can install fake roms (custom miui roms that don't receive updates for example) or install play store (after a restore to factory option, the gapps disappear)
3. The rom US units use seem to differ to the non-us units and the model numbers also differ. Would this be an issue if say the international rom is released and its not compatible with a unit bought from an importer? - had an issue before with a mi5 where the rom was an unofficial one and had to go through the hassle of unlocking the bootloader and installing the global rom instead
4.Any idea of software support in the long run and how prompt are LeEco's updates; ie Android N?
Thanks in advance and patience!
I know that US version x727 should be only 4/64 4gb ram and 64 GB ROM. It should have different LTE bands...in order to be used on us market.
Probably the us ROM couldn't be used on Chinese units.

Thanks for a great review. I am ordering this when it becomes available in the US. Can't beat the price for what is in it.

I have been using pro3 (x720) for three weeks. The screen display picture occasionally shake for about 0.2 second. This is the most disturbing issue. You can find the same complain in the Chinese leEco forum. Beside, mobile signal is not as strong as the nexus 5 I used for almost 3 years. If you can ignore these two issue, it's a great phone to have.

Do you think its software related? Whats the rom they're using? Is it like the Mi phones where there is a vendor altered rom installed and does leeco release global stable roms like miui? Sorry, bear with me here ! thanks!

We all running stock rom with/without root. I hope it's rom related issue. As of now ,no official rom zip is available from LeEco.
Hi,
Just bought the 6/64 nonUS Version to use in Europe. Bought it after watching your review, thanks for that!....
Will directly root the phone in order to remove the chinese App's but wating for some plain Android rom's (stock Android). Had CM9 or so on a galaxy before and i wasnt that suprised as i supposed to be, but will also give it a try if it comes available to the Le Pro 3....
I'm sure with the actual specs and this awesome price the community behind the Pro3 will grow fast. Also i would donate 10€ to support the devs.
Sure to be here more often in future.
Thx&Rgds,
Maxcyber
I just got my Chinese version (6GB/64GB Dual Sim) - The phone is lightning fast. Screen looks great - camera is okay (I just snap pics anyways not really a photo person). The screen is decent if not a bit washed out. Indoors is just fine - outdoors I have to crank it to about 85% to see it. The fingerprint reader seems lightning fast if not 100% accurate. ( I get about 4 out 5 times). It let me add multiple fingerprints to unlock left or right handed. Overall the build is pretty solid. I put in my att sim and did not have to do anything else. Picked up all my settings. My antutu scores are 162397 - just shy of iphone 7 scores. Apparently the install is not google certified. I cannot run Pokemon Go or Android Pay (and snapchat I am told I don't use it). Pokemon Go is the soul breaker for me...
The GPS seems to lock lightning quick. I have not had any issues with Google apps although some updating had to happen (google services, play app, mail app etc...).
The battery seems amazing. I am getting great times out of it I don't have exact numbers but so far so good at least as good as my s7 edge.
I was able to put the google now launcher on it so no issue with the leeco skin.
Hopefully with the US launch tomorrow it will have a google certified image so I can run Pokemon go if not I am not sure I will keep it.
Pokemon go functions on official ROM ...see my screenshots.
I can't Android pay isn't active in Italy.I can't prove it...sorry.

Yeah I don't understand I got mine from geekbuying.com so why would I not have official rom?

Disclaimer: This is rant, a civilized one, if you disagree with me, you are welcome to illustrate me but offenses are not appreciated.
This phone is great, but it refuses to be acceptable as a daily driver.
Developers are the best people in the world, they do what they do with no return at all sometimes, but the software (the lack of a good kernel base) makes it really hard to enjoy. I could never get more than 4.5 hours of SOT on any ROM, whereas stock would give me at least 5.5; however stock software is a bad joke for the Android base and the camera output is nerve wracking...
The CDLA headphones are a must, no one likes the dongle and it seems that (due to broken kernel) no dev was able to figure out this one (clarifying again that I don't blame them). So my options are to get used to carry the dongle or to the crack and pop from the CDLA ones... hmmmmmm......
I see the exact same story as with the Amazon phone, on its time, the Amazon phone had a really good thing going here in XDA, but the bootloader was never unlocked and the momentum was lost. I had to let go on my Fire phone....
For the LePro3, many great options are at hand at the same price, I'm looking heavily right now at the LG G5 from the $200 custom rom on eBay, WAY BETTER camera (like 10X times better), about the same battery life if you compare custom ROM of LePro3 vs stock of LG G5, and I have to admit that although I dislike LG's interface, it is tolerable.
Also, the LeEco servers (including the one that supports OTAs) has been down for at least 3 days (that I have tried myself), like seriously, we know the company is nearly in bankruptcy although still having customer support working, but the fact that security updates have halted and servers are down, tells me that there is something wrong going on.
At $200 dlls that I got the phone for, it is still not worth it for *me*.
My Moto Z play was $450 with a hasselblad camera mod that I was able to sell to get $100 in return, so for $350, I would still take yet another Moto Z Play at the current price, with way lower specifications, than taking a LePro3 for $200.
Help yourself and download these apps
Power Toggles
ACDisplay
Simple Control
Fingerprint Quick Action
Pixel Launcher
Modify the DPI to 300 via ADB
Download Google Camera (2.7) , Phone, Contacts etc from APKMirror
I am enjoying all the benefits from stock ROM plus emulated stock Android experience. =D
I bought this phone at what I thought was a steal for the hardware I was getting. I knew the company was unknown in the US and would likely not support the phone for long (if at all). I've flashed many Roms and played with this phone more than any other than perhaps my Nexus 6. Its a great phone overall with pretty decent developer support. I regret nothing.

I have to agree with rivethead23 I got the Pro 3 and immediately flashed the Turbo Destroyer rom on it and have never had any regrets
I also bought an LG G6 and I found it was no upgrade to the Pro 3 and ended up returning it.
My advice is to Flash the Turbo EUI 21S v20 rom and Nova launcher with Nova Google companion and you get the best experience from this device

Pretty much this.
I'm using the phone on stock 26s, pretty heavily customized though: Magisk, Xposed, Viper, GravityBox, Tasker, stock android/Google apps like Dialer Contact Messages Calendar Keep Hangout Gmail etc., Nova Launcher with companion, PlayerPro and VLC, Brave browser... I removed all Chinese bloatware, and stock apps I don't need anymore like Contact, Message, Music, Video, Browser, Launcher, LIVE, lots of LeEco apps, etc. Disabled all stock extra memory optimizations to let Android deal with memory. Splash and bootanim without Chinese. Etc.
It works really great, battery is still really good (I often have 5 or 5.5 hours SoT at the end of the day), I customized a lot of things to make it exactly how I wanted it. So far, the best device I owned, and one of the cheapest...

It's the latest Chinese stock ROM for x720.
ALSO RANT:
Well the issue is with android itself, there is no real AOSP phone, i don't get why manufaturers just don't put AOSP on phone and be done with it, i guess target for android phones are geeks, at least this kind of android phones. I wanted dual sim phone, but now i think i will manage some woraround and go ios, as bad as it is, OS is much more polished and unified.
Even Moto with almost stock android still does not get direct google updates, it is just bad design.
BTW i use pro3 as daily, i get 8 + hours SOT with stock firmare, i managed to get ACR to work quite good, DND to work quite good, but still, default apps, like browser does not work, google integration is crap, even with launcher 3, missing pulldown is a joke and google services crash quite often so ... meh, but still better then my gs4 with new battery and lineage
Oh and also the ambient light sensors sets screen too dim for me at night, until now I had opposite problem with all the other phones i had.
I also have galaxy s7 at hand to use and in my opinion samsung android is even worse.
The main issue is there is really no Android OS, no phone with AOSP, which is only real Android OS, only ****ton of phones with more or less molested OS.
BTW my budget was 1100usd for a phone, i still chose pro3 and I still think, despite it's flaws, for me, it is best choice, which is sad, but it is reality, we can't change it, reality is reality. I will try z2 force with battery pack if they sell it officially in Czech, but I don't expect much.
Oh my I thought I was the only one with the headphone issue
Hmm my Le Pro 3 is coming soon... But I'm more likely to just sell It while it's new and make some $$$ of it. Seeing this rants and all... AOSP/lineage is a must for me, same as Oreo.
Just gonna buy OP5 to replace my Bacon. Maybe that jelly pentile so not exactly FHD, POS display won't be so bad...

These rants are about things that we would like to have on the device and are inevitable, like the fact that we knew that there was no headphone jack and that the CDLA headphones are not perfect on custom software, we knew it and still took the chance, not the phone or dev's fault.
Other than that, the phone is amazing, you should give it a go, I don't think you can get too much money out of it, this is the wrong phone to re-sell for higher.
Also, you have a very specific example from other people in this thread, which is, you might like stock software which gives you the best battery life for the device.

I pretty OK with using adapter, no problem with me. I ordered it from China so when it gets to Europe it is worth more. I certainly would not lose money on it.
The only things that worry me are uncertain future of Oreo on this device and overall stability. I currently manage over 4 hours SOT with my OnePlus One.... Why this thing with 4070 Mah (thousand f-ing more) does 4.5 H or slightly more ? With newer SoC, screen etc. Stock software is a no-go for me. Android 6.0 is a no-go for me. So I rely on custom ROMs and dev support. At least dev support here is great!
Coming from Nexus and Nexus 5x, I was used to having so many roms and kernels. Getting LP3 was a big big jump and I did not like it in early days when no roms were available.
Now with more than enough roms and solid kernels, I do not miss anything. Omni Rom gives me 9 hrs of screen on time for my usage. It does not feel/act different than roms I used before.
The only problem was the camera performance. But with Google Camera port, that is no longer a problem now.
Never used a nubia phone before, but looking at the specs and at £600 I'm interested. Whose buying this.

If you read through the support page of the red magic 5 and the rwd magic 3, you'll get an idea into what your paying for.
Almost non existinal software support outside of china. Some games like Pubg stop working on basically every update (of pubg) Nubia are months behind in fixing those bugs.
The 5s is over 5 months behind in updates, and still don't have Android 11.
Some software bugs like setting default apps for things like certain links to open in apps,
Reddit, youtube etc dont work.
The sd888 is currently over heating in every model of phone made with it. With exception of the RM6 but only if you use the Ice dock while gaming. So expect to need to buy that additional accessory to get the best performance out of the device. Or if not expect it to over heat a few minutes into any heavy high graphic / demanding game.
Sure maybe after some months of bug fixes it may be better, but yoy only need to read the 5s/5s unofficial support page to read how many things have been done and what people have been dealing with since buying Nubia's last phone.
... Personally im very happy with my purchase. RM5s with latest stock rom is solid. I dont play pubg so i dont care about the people moaning about it. Everyrhing else seems to run very well, with exception to the default apps selection not saving your choices to always open in this app, its a beast of a phone.
Sd888 overheating and using way more power than the 865, for almost the same performance for me personally is not worth it.
But if you do decide to to go for the RM6, good luck. Don't say you were not warned whwn something is not right and you get a cold shoulder from nubia support. Good prediction, Android 12 is get released for the chinese varient, but global will be left behind.
Like the series 3 and currently series 5.
There are rumors that android 11 will release for series 5 soon. But series 3 global is still over 11 months behind china and 2 versions of android behind china.
Expect to be ignored as soon as the next nubia device is announced.
I already got one, with CN rom, unfortunately. I'm waiting for the global rom right now.
Currently, the phone have a few annoying issues:
1. Vanced YouTube does not work consistently
2. Locked launcher
3. E-sports handle does not work in several games, e.g. LOL WildRift
4. FFBE WoTV quits randomly
5. Overheating issue is real
That being said, the screen, sc888's performance, and the charging speed are the saving grace of this flawed device, love dat screen and the snappiness. Whether or not those would justify your purchase, your call.
I already put it on secondhand market, but if no one takes it, I won't get salty ...too much.

You have to wait for the ROM update. In order to solve the problems you mentioned above Are you my customer in Thailand?
I've got one and I'm playing PUBG Mobile, Arena of Valor and Genshin Impact.
It's Chinese ROM but easy to install Play store by apk file, and remove all Chinese apps. Play store work perfectly, with Play Protect. I even think this is an global ROM.
It had not any issues, at least for 3 days I've been using it.
Just preordered, was between this or the rog phone 5.
I like to try new manufacturers so never having tried red magic before was a factor. The 2 biggest negatives for me on the red magic 6 is that the 5g is only for china (no NA 5g bands), and official rom support, mentioned above in better detail. Would have also liked to see 2 front facing speakers as the downward one will be blocked by vice style gamepads. But are these things worth double the price for the rog phone 5? Since I went with the red magic the answer for me is no. Since I'm mostly on wifi the 5g isn't a deal breaker. In general I'm usually not in a situation where my mobile bandwidth speeds are the bottle neck in enjoying an experience, like streaming music.
For me the most important part is the gpu/888 chipset and high refresh. Check and check. Getting the cyberpods for free ($50) and free shipping was nice too.

Technically you could change it. But it wont change the bands you will have available to you. Rm6 uses the exact same 5G bands as the RM5. Chinese rom also comes with uninstallable bloatware, loads of data tracking apps, locked launcher, and a bunch of other limited features. If its anything like Android 10 on the 5 series.
Many many people in the UK and parts of europe have 5g connectivity issues with the 5g/5s so dont expect 5g to work and if it does, it will work poorly unless you're basically standing next to the tower.
Overall, chinese roms may get updated, but they will be bogged down with limted features (that you cant even use outside of China) and forced apps.
Not to mention, if the modem fikes happen to get flashed at the same time it could cause connectivity issues on all bands and networks.
The potential to really **** up is high.
But as i said above if you really want to see what you'd be getting yourself into nust read through the issues and software bugs on the support pages for the 5 series and 3 series device.
Its a pretty clear possible future, since Nubia has so far been doing the same thing as they did with the series 3 devices.

Is the overheating in normal (non-gaming) operation or are you referring to gaming?
I just ordered the 6 pro. Reading through some of these comments makes me leary but one thing I've found over my many years on Android is that no two people's experience is the same. I'm eagerly anticipating the arrival of my 6 pro. I'm in the US by the way.

Thanks, so did you buy it with Chinese rom?

Yes. It's original Chinese ROM.
I have one on the way. I hope issues are minimum
does anyone have this and using it on t mobile network in the USA? How does it work?
Beast is absolutely right. I got the international 6 pro with 16gb ram and it is an absolute beast. I'm attaching a screenshot of my antutu score.

Just received my phone i am using T-Mobile in California. Phone works great so far.
Hello everyone,
I'd really like to buy this phone, I know it's about 4 years old.
I have some questions about the compatibility with different apps.
Does the Nova Launcher works on this ? I don't care about Gestures ....
What about the YouTube Vanced and AoD Notify ?
Are there some custom ROMs ?
What are the cons right now, here in Europe ( Germany ) with this mobile phone ?
I do not care about 5G. 4G should be more than enough for me.
Any advices are welcome, thank you
Get the Note 10+ instead; better specs, more ram and up 1tb expandable storage. The Exynos variants can be rooted but the Snapdragon variants are faster. Excellent build quality and it's a running machine.
6 GB ram and 128 GB memory should be okay for me

Never can have too much ram or storage, 256/12gb is the base model. One of the best displays out there. Best display to bezel ratio of anything out there. Very good cams.
Personally I take One UI over Nova; faster, capable, more efficient and very stable.
Only possible deficiency is no 3.5mm jack.
No variable refresh rate and ones with no 5G get very good SOT once optimized. These will run extremely well stock and as such the UI is very customizable.
Excuse me ,I'm not talking about Samsung mobile phones here
You are off topic

Nova works, at least on global version.
I bought a second hand mate 20x after a Xiaomi mi mix, and it's the best choice for sure. There is no other screen like this. And everything works all right, all the software, cameras, battery for 2 days long... It's unbeatable in every way.
even with foldables you get a smaller video in 16:9 ratio and you always enjoy the full screen.
i have a book case and it's like a foldable but without the problems of battery, breakable, etc

I bought a second hand mate 20x for 250€ after owning a Xiaomi mi mix, and it's the best choice for sure. There is no other screen like this. And everything works all right, all the software, cameras, battery lasts for 2 days... It's unbeatable in every way.
With current foldables you would get a smaller video in 16:9 ratio and with mate 20x you always enjoy the full screen.
i have a book case and it's just like a foldable but without the problems of battery, breakable, etc. It has dropped several times and no problems so far. Huawei book case is very good for this phone.
Vanced YouTube works as well. FNG gestures works perfect without root.
I can't root or install any different firmware. I thought I was going to miss it from my Xiaomi mi mix, but not so much. I just can't use Titanium backup and can't get rid of all the ads, but I can use dns.adguard.com as a private DNS and it avoids quite some ads.
It's running EMUI 12 and Huawei is still updating its kernel...
Even if I could spend 2000€ in another phone and 20x would cost the same I would choose 20x any time just for the aspect ratio and big unbeatable screen, speakers, robustness and battery optimization.

I still rock mine with long battery life of 7 - 9 days under medium use.
My global phone at one point had Nova launcher but eventually it was uninstalled because Nova eats away at battery. Besides, the phone is faster and snappier without it.
Vanced still works on it which is crazy cool.
For installing custom roms, downgrading to 9.0/9.1 is a necessity. But doing so may render newer apps inoperable. Personally, EMUI 12 is better than any version before it - even though its bootloader is locked and installing custom roms is a no no.
Cons for Germany? I cant say since I'm not in Europe.
The only 2 idiotic annoyances with the phone are: 1) auto brightness is enabled at startup and 2) notifications to update to network time. Although the notifications dont happen a lot theyre still annoying. Had there been none of these issues, the phone would be perfect.
At one point, I was thinking of selling it and buying the Note 20 ultra which can be upgraded to One UI 5.1, a very nice UI upgrade touch. But in the end I found myself keeping my 20x because of its wide aspect ratio (which unfortunately phone makers have abandoned as I'm still scratching my head over that) and bigger screen even though the Note 20 Ultra may have sharper resolution. However, if one day my 20x does become broken I will not buy another 20x. Instead I'll buy the N20U.
If you have more questions let me know.

Are you sure? My phone is EVR L29-C636 which is 4G... and the last update was from last year in Jan or Feb of 2022. Do you have the same model?

As I said before, and as you can see in my "Spanish screenshot" above, kernel and security patch from Huawei are from February 2022, and mainline software update (Android update from Google) is from 2023. It's already 2023-02-01
Android Project Mainline: Everything you need to know
Android Project Mainline directly updates core OS components with "critical code changes" from Google Play, accelerating Android updates.

Appreciate that. I have 2 questions..
1) If you could get the Note 20 Ultra brand new in exchange for the 20x would you exchange it?
2) I keep getting notifications on "network time unavailable" to enable location. How do I disable this annoying notification?
1) Not even a S23 Ultra. Why? Mainly because I'd lose almost 1cm width and 1cm height of screen with the same weight. I'm sure the battery wouldn't last as long, the fingerprint wouldn't work as well, and most probably the UI would be a little faster with 120Hz but again, with a lot of battery drain, I'd miss the 3.5 audio jack and the super speakers from the Mate 20X. I'm not a gamer, but gaming would be something that probably would run faster in the S23 Ultra compared to the Mate 20X. I don't use a Stylus. Phone camera sensors are limited by their size. For the rest I'm sure there is no real gain. Whatsapp, Youtube and Chrome are my main usage of the phone and all I need is the biggest screen and better sound as possible.
2) No clue

Got to say you're wrong about the battery comparison. The s23 ultra"s battery greatly exceeds the one in the 20x by far.
Maybe...
