miui_MIMIXGlobal_V8.5.4.0.MAHMIED_0178011bcd_6.0.zip (can't post direct link...)
Now all i get is a black screen and a Qualcomm HS-USB device in Windows device manager.

Try using the miflash tool: http://api.en.miui.com/url/MiFlashTool
Download the fastboot rom and follow the instructions on this page: http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
Hopefully your phone will boot into bootloader.

Try to enter in fastboot mode and try to reflash the good firmware, it must do it ! for security wipe the memory of the phone with flashtool.
I can't enter fastboot... Phone is stuck at an all black screen... (won't power on or anything...)
You should install the older version of FlashTool software. New versions can not be loaded from edl. I am using Recommendation 2016.3.
You need to use this version.

Just tried that version of the tool... Same story...
So, I took it to a phone repair shop here in China and the guy was able to flash it back to normal! The language barrier kept me from being able to understand what I was doing wrong, but I at least know he didn't need to open the phone.
Thanks to all of you for helping with the troubleshooting!

I'm not 100% sure.... He flashed the Chinese Developer rom, so I'm guessing it was either an issue with my laptop's USB not being compatible or something with the version(s) of the MiFlash Tool that I was using.
I struggle with the same.
Device is identified as Qualcomm HS-USB QD Loader 9008 (COM6) in Windows, I have a black screen all the time, no reaction on any power button combination.
Fastboot is not working, I assume it is in EDL mode
But when flashing with Xiaomiflash tool, I get the following log file:
[0,00 COM6]:[COM6]:start flash.
[2,01 COM6]:cannot receive hello packet,MiFlash is trying to reset status!
[4,51 COM6]:cannot receive hello packet,MiFlash is trying to reset status!

no difference on global stable or chinese developer
any suggestion how to bring back the device to life?
I have done the same thing, any idea on how he flashed it?
I really am not sure what he did when I got mine un-bricked.
Have you tried to flash it with different PCs? My thought is that it is probably an issue with USB driver\FW or the version of the MiFlash utility (he didn't speak a word of English, so I assume he was using the Chinese version, which might be more up-to-date for the mix 2 or something...)
I was able to fix the issue with the miflash that was linked in this thread. Put the phone in EDL with holding volume up and down for 3 seconds and then plugged in a usb cable. From there was able to flash latest global rom fastboot version.

I don't know how, but i wound up on the bootloader screen, and no matter if i power off or reboot, it still brings me there only. Then i selected (tried) HBoot. Now i am stuck there. I am on stock only, never unlocked. On 1.29 (SH25). There are following options shown: Fastboot, Recovery, Factory Reset, Simlock, Show Barcode and Image CRC.
All I want to do is boot the phone into regular stock. What shall i select besides Factory Reset? Kindly Help ASAP.
Many Thanks in advance.

have you tried doing factory reset? i know you will lose stuff but worth trying to see if the phone will work again..well should do..my first thing would be to do factory reset since you tried rebooting.
or go into bootloader and try fastboot reboot (command that is)

what he said basically
use the following commands
"fastboot erase cache"
"fastboot reboot" and see what happens
Oh well, I tried Reboot, Fast Boot as well as Factory Reset. Nothing seems to work . They all restarts the phone and brings back the bootloader screen.
While restarting, right under HTC logo, it momentarily displays: "This build is for development purpose only. Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action."
Guess i will have to bring it back to the retailer.
Seems like you have unlocked and relocked the bootloader.
You will need to download the correct imagine file (RUU) for your phone and follow instructions.
Can you find a guide on the internet?
You will probably have to unlock the bootloader again to get some information from your phone in Fastboot mode.

I tried Factory Reset, It stayed on the splash screen for more than 5 minutes. Then i pressed and hold power button. It restarted the phone back to bootloader screen. Yup, factory reset is NOT doing anything, just froze on the splash screen. Guess will have to take it up to the shop. Hopefully this time it will be easier (last time i had very difficult time to get replacement for my HOX with wifi hardware fualt).
You have been real helpful. Thank you so much.
Hey,
I was playing hearthstone (just about to win ) and then the device just got stuck and rebooted.
Since then it's in stuck (LG logo -> black screen but not shutdown)
It was wasn't over heating or something.
The device is rooted and unlocked.
EDIT:
I Used LGUP to factory reset and finished successfully.
The problem is still happening, the device shows the LG logo and then stuck on black screen.

No. If you try you will lose warranty.

Hello guys,
I would like to ask for help as Im really desperate and tired of trying to get my phone back to normal state.
This is the case.
I can access fastboot mode, I can access recovery (TWRP or CM), I can install roms from recovery, I can sideload from adb, Ive formatted userdata, system, cache with fastboot commands etc etc etc... but every single rom that I install never gets to the welcome screen. Every single one keeps rebooting, freezing sometimes or just simply powering off my device.
Im really out of ideas, Ive also re-locked the bootloader then unlocked it again, force de-encryption because sometimes it gives me the message encryption unsucesfull.
Any input would be deeply appreciated.
EDIT: MANAGED TO SOLVED IT. ON TWRP, UNDER WIPE, SELECT DATA AND SYSTEM AND PRESS REPAIR FILESYSTEM!
This thread can be closed please.

Hello Guys!
This week my Zenfone 2 started to have random shut downs, specially when runnig heavier apps. Inicially I could turn it back on, but now the phone shuts down even in the asus logo screen. It doesn't turn on in the safe mode, but it enters in the recovery mode. This happens at any batery level and when i put it on charge, it works normally. I was wondering if this is really a hardware problem or theres something i could do without sending the phone to some technical assistance. Thank you guys for any help

both may be the cause hardware or software or even malicious APP
first of all factory reset device if situation still the same try flashing raw firmware using commands method.
( do not use Asus flash tool for flashing raw it is highly unstable. there are chances that device may fail to reparation if that happens AFT exits the flashing and device bricks. in commands you can flash files even if repartioning command fails. hence very low chance of bricking.

I've tried all of that I'm afraid as soon as it gets a bit of power the cycle happens and the PC doesn't have time to recognize the device before it reboots, it doesn't respond to the power key or any combination of key pressing, just keeps on in the boot loop. From what I've learned I'm assuming the problem is that 52MB TWRP image, it doesn't work on this phone, the update will be trying to boot the phone into recovery but because the recovery doesn't work it creates a bootloop..so far it's been 48hrs, will try switch it back on on monday as suggested here https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...g-failures-t3596427/post74189767#post74189767 . I won't recommend you this but you can try pulling off the back panel and removing the battery cable (its the black one)

Hi, I'm refering to this one "twrp-3.0.3-1_UNOFFICIAL-U Play.img" Not yours.. I flashed twrp-3.0.3-1_UNOFFICIAL-U Play.img and I'm now stuck and panicking, I hope I can have me phone back again .. The device tries to reboot itself into recovery repeatedly after you try a system update, no combination of button pressing etc works, the PC doesn't even have time to pick up the phone..Like I've said in previous posts, I'm trying to see if I leave it off for some days and then recharge and try to switch it back on if it will work..So far that's the only solution I've seen from anyone.. I hope this clears up my problem and suggestions..

i am not sure what problem your having but if you try to press the volume up or down key while booting up you will boot into download mode. or else try pressing volume up and down both while the phone starts
Is there a possibility that comes out a working version.?

Hi, did you have any luck? I'm stuck in the same boot loop.. I even took off the case and removed the black battery cable over night but still same boot loop, did running down battery help?
Hi, don't dismantle it or any of that other stuff suggested above, let it bootloop til the battery is flat, leave it, do not charge it or do anything to it for 11+ days, then charge it and it will switch back on, no problem, you'll have your phone back.
Ok thanks, it's been about 5 days off so far from dying from the boot loop, I'll give it another 10 days before charging it and see how it goes..
Thanks again for your response..
