Anybody try to use a Project Fi data-only sim in a Note 4?
I just did, and get "invalid SIM card" error. But maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Thanks!
Mike

On Straight Talk's web site the T-Mobile SIM option is still limited to the full size SIM card. They don't have the S iii's micro SIM card available yet.
1. Has anyone purchased the full size "Straight Talk" SIM and cut it down to the S iii's mircro SIM size?
Or
2. Has anyone purchased the AT&T "Straight Talk" micro SIM and used that in the T-Mobile S iii?
As far as cutting SIM into microSIM - I did it.
As far as running StraightTalk T-Mobile on AT&T - tried, network doesn't show up. On my unlocked Galaxy I Captivate I can see 2 Straighttalk networks.

What did you use to cut yours?
I just bought galaxy s3 from Costco still waiting for the phone to arrive. I also purchased a straight talk mini sim card for tmobile. I bought a micro sim card cutter from amazon. So my plan is to cut the mini sim card to make it a micro sim card. But just go to amazon and search for micro sim card cutter.

I was thinking about switching from T-mobile to Straight Talk. I was just wondering if anyone knew if you have to buy a Straight Talk sim card, which I believe is just a normal T-Mobile Sim card, or if I could just use the same sim card I have for T-mobile with straight talk.
you need their simcard as you have to register the sim serial to get service.
ahhh okay, makes sense, Thank you
I am a little confused? Cricket can take your vzw phone and flash it to work on their network. What do they have or know that the devs at xda don't know?

The Verizon Note 4 is SIM unlocked. All it needs to work on Cricket is a Cricket SIM (and possibly adjusted APN settings for data and MMS). There's no flashing of any kind involved.
Um not mine, tried all carriers Sim cards the only one that worked is a old tmobile Sim from germany.

Then either something is wrong with the SIM cards you were using, the settings are off, or your device is defective. The Verizon Note 4 is SIM unlocked. There are plenty of threads on the forum where people talk about using it with AT&T, T-Mobile, and prepaid carriers.

cricket up and running on mine (vzw sm n910v) had to manually enter network apn to enable data , but phone worked upon sim insertion. It registered as an AT&T sim and I received an error message stating it wasn't a Verizon sim card but noone at cricket was needed to receive service.
Has anyone tried running a nano sim with a phone setup on project fi with an esim? I'm wondering if it works.

Yes, I have a T Mobile SIM and Project Fi esim and it's pretty convenient. You can only have one carrier active at a time, but just go to Mobile networks in settings then carrier and you can switch between the SIM and esim. I have the Fi calls and texts forwarded to the T Mobile number, but you can switch between them without even restarting the phone.
^great to know!
Google is pressuring the outdated Carriers t get onboard...
Thanks! I went ahead and tried it. Same results as you. Would be nice to have dual sim support but at least I can swap services when the signal is bad.

That's a great idea, I'm getting an e-sim for fi.
Can anyone try to enable dsds using *#*#4636#*##. DSDS is dual SIM support, using physical and e Sims, I don't have 2 SIM cards. So maybe one should try and confirm if it works or not.
I have Fi esim and Verizon. Everything works ?.
Good to know this works. Has anyone been able to get an esim activated on Verizon? I have two Verizon lines and would love to use both on my Pixel 3aXL. Verizon chat tells me they only activate esim for iPhones.
