Hi there,
I'm a brazilian owner of a Motorola Defy and have been looking to upgrade it to cyanogen since the day I bought it. Then I learned Motorola was somewhat working on a official 2.3 update and decided to wait and see the results. That was months ago.
So I decided to finally take a step and try CM7. Thing is, I'm a completely newbie in android (this is my first phone wich uses the system), so a lot of things in the guides simply don't make sense to me. Can anyone explain me some things?
1. Can I upgrade it to the last CM7 build without losing the ability to move it back to official 2.2? How?
2. If not, will I be able to change to the official 2.3 when it comes out?
3. Will the system be 100% portuguese?
4. I'm colorblind and don't know my lense color. My phone is somewhat new but I would like to be sure wich is my camera before changing the system. Is there a way to do that without looking at the lense? (I heard about red camera doing noises when switching on and etc.)
Last, can anyone guide me through the upgrade process, from the very start?
Android version: 2.2.1
Version number: 3.4.2-107_JDNL-9
Thanks for your time and sorry for the bad english/yet another newbie request.

as for the color of lens have a friend look at it for you.
The rest of your questions are covered in the forums. But yes you can go back to an official rom by flashing it using RSD lite.
Happy flashing

Hi,
the model of your lens is not related to a color.
In this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116694, this post gives you an easy way to find out which lens you have :

I'll check these links *again*. Most of my doubts still exist but thanks for the effort, anyway.

Thanks hervelo,
did you try this method yourself? I ran the app and followed the instructions but could not find any "cameracommon" entry. I haven't really understand what he meant with the emoticons..
Yes i did and it works, don't forget to launch and exit the camera (4 and 5) and it should work. I have made this mistake the first time.

Found out I had a lot of processes going on and the cameracommon entry was being forgotten faster than I was searching for it.
But hey, it says I have BAYER device. It means I have a red camera, isn't it?
Not necessarily RED but it means that you should be able to record 720p. I have a BAYER lens too but I did'nt try any hack to do it. I am waiting for the right CM7 nightly to make it work.
Ok, I got it. Thanks for the help and good news, I'm a lot more confident now. Gonna wait for the rest of my questions to be answered now, like the language one
I am french and the french version is pretty good. My point of vue is that the quality of the translation will depend on people reporting for mistakes.
Anyway, read carefully the documentation chem57guru gave you, the FAQ is really complete, so it should answer almost all of your questions.
Good luck.
MY HTC 10 and my service provider is fully support VOLTE
I can still use VOLTE after I have unlock bootloader , root and S-OFF
However, when I install xposed in my phone
I cannot use VOLTE anymore, and in the phone option, the choice of open VOLTE was disappeared
Is that issue related to system file has been modified? or is there any method I can fix this problem?
Sorry for my English
Hi In my phone also volte is not working
The reason nobody has helped you is both of you have ambiguous posts and I suspect we've already addressed these issues in other threads (I've personally posted potential solutions). A deeper forum search will probably answer all your questions.
We need a lot more information like what market/carrier, when did you lose it etc puneet724
More than likely samue11 you've simply got a provisioning bug that's easy to fix if you forum search.
Sent from my HTC 10 using telepathy...
I saw that my.phone isn't necessarily listed as being able to support volte but I did see that users said they got it working. I have a bullhead running oreo and when I run *#*#4636#*#*, there is
Mods delete please. I resolved my issue .
Hey there
I'm looking for stock marshmallow for our tmobile galaxy tab s on rooted stock 5.0 t807t.
The only marshmallow I see is for the t807a or the Turkish 6.0.1 for the t807 on sammobile.
What'll happen if I flash the Turkish 6.0.1 on this tmobile tablet?
If not Turkish, does anyone have any suggestions for something close-ish to stock?
Thanks In advance
A pity that often in forums to interesting questions, no replies follow. Unfortunately I cannot really contribute either except for essentially asking the same question.
I have the same tablet and would like to update it to Marshmallow but I am not sure whether the T807T version is technically the same as the non-T one.
Since your posting is already from several months ago - have you gone forward in the meantime and tried to flash it with that Turkish 6.0.1 firmware?
Same question
So funny,
No responses from my OP so I decide to give up.
2ish years later I ended up Googling about how to do this, taking another shot, and it brings me to the thread I created lol.
Right before I got back here I found a thread on lineage os that REQUIRES this SPECIFIC device (t807t) to be flashed stock 6.0.1 before proceeding with lineageos install.
Which to me brings me some hope that this old bird may have another go round.
I'm not the authority on lineageos, I don't actually know who maintans the wiki but check this out...
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/chagalllte/install
I'm Going to reach out to the guy who wrote that over at lineage Hopefully he can shed some light.
I wouldn't dare expect a Supreme xda mind to help with such a lowly request.
Yeah, "funny" as in dreadful irony.
I've already given up on seriously attempting to update this sadly orphaned tablet and considering that the most bothersome issue - the lack of any decent screen calibration - won't be addressed by Marshmallow either, it's probably not worth the trouble anyway.
At leastmy personal android update experience taught me that even if one or two things are a bit nicer or "better" in the new version, this often comes at the cost of at least the same amount of features not working anymore like they used to do before.
Same issue here. I had a proper 6.0.1 file for the t805w but now on updato all I get it a 5.0.2 firmware posing as a 6.0.1.
I flash it and still on LP.
does anyone know of anywhere where the proper 6.0.1 files are located. I'm registered on updato and sammobile amongst a few others I now regret registering on
Hi everyone! So I stumbled across the Google Fuchsia dev page with the source, so I thought, that it would be fun to port this OS to the Pixel cause' why not? But I need a tester who is willing to flash the ROM. If anyone want to help, reply to the thread!
P.S: I have a working build that I am currently trying to get the graphics to work on in emulation, QEMU, so if you want to check that image out, just reply to the thread.
I'll give it a try
Ok, I'm uploading the OS, I'll let you know when it's done.
Count me in too, please
No problem, I'm currently making a driver for video and graphics cause without those you are only gonna see text fly by
Also, take a look at my poor laptop while this process is going:
I am interested. Sound like a nice project ?
Oooh, I'll give it a try.
Finally an update!!

Thank you so much and sorry for the 3 month long wait as I had to do so much stuff to get ARM64 support back. But it's done now! And the biggest problem for now is that we need some kind of EFI in the phone. So my request to you is, can you find something that allows EFI booting on the Pixel and if you can, please tell me how I can, cuz' that will help me out a ton.
Is this work still in progress? That's interesting.
I am ready to test Google Fuchsia OS.
