I don't have any problem. Just downloaded a 11 sec 4k video and it played fine. Played it through internal video player and VLC. No lag whatsoever.

Hi, a friend of me has got an Samsung S2, he did send me a MP4 that he made with his phone, but I can not view that MP4 file on my phone. Does anybody know if this is normal? Or what I can do about it?
Thx

Maybe the S2 made the video in 1080p quality, and ur able to view it with addiotional software, like, mx player, but it laggs pretty alot. THe built in player doesn't play it at all.
So try mx player.
download mxplayer from playstore and if it cant play that video then maybe the video is corrupted (from my personal experience ive never seen video extension that this player can't handle)
here is its link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad&hl=en
press thanks button if i help you
You should try opening them with MX Player, if it doesn't work then it won't open on your phone.

You can try to change the rendering to S/W so it is not laggy. Although it decreased the quality of image though.
Hope it fix the lag

It is better for some decrease of quality. If you want to maintain the quality use the h/w some vids may lag a bit though

Every video? it's weird, can you write properties one of your video? I mean resolution, bitrate etc, maybe this videos have too good quality like for Gio.
Kinda strange, if the ROM has working libstagefright.

MX Player alternatives for Android 4.3

I just installed Android 4.3 on my nexus 4, and sadly MX Player (pro) does not support this android version yet. I tried Moboplayer as an alternative, but the mkv plays give lots of frame drops.
Is there any decent alternative for this fantastic player until they get it to work on the shining new android version?

I tested 2 episodes of Top Gear in 720p .mkv. On VPlayer video is lagging. On BSPlayer no sound. VLC recognize file as music. Stock player play video without sound too.
On 4.2.2 and MXPlayer it worked great.

Video player

Hi, it seems like most video players are not working on android 4.3. I use archos & mxplayer and both are not working. I just recently tried vplayer and even though it works I want a player that can download subtitles on the fly. Can someone please recommend any compatible options !!!
bsplayer works fine and has everything you want
I'm not sure if it supports subtitle downloading, but the VLC Android beta I installed yesterday played back a 1080p movie with subtitles flawlessly. So I would highly recommend that. I honestly didn't know that certain movie players on Android download subs automatically, but if you are transferring movie files manually, can't you also retrieve the subs on your PC, just as you did the with the actual movie file(s)?

[Q] Video player

Anyone know of a video player that will allow you to zoom in while connected to TV via Smart View? The default video player will allow it if you watch on the phone but complains “zoom not supported” when connected to TV. Often had people ask if I can zoom in to have a bit better view of someone or something. Never been able to find out whether any of the vast collection on playstore have this ability.
Best regards,
