Okay so i would like to root my Samsung s7 active sm-G891A. it's a replacement phone after the other phone was stolen. It was shipped to me after we talked to at&t. I wana know if there are certain files missing cause I wana be able to root using an .apk can someone help me find an application to root it? 7.0 android version SAMSUNG-SM-G891A.
I doubt You can root a Samsung with an .apk
Try This: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-active/development/rom-mod-release-t3635879
I will try it when I get my S7 Active from eBay.

Hello folks, the time has come for me to replace my Nexus 7(2012) and i'm thinking of getting a 8.4 inch Tab S.
.Since i'm used to Nexus' unlockable bootloader, and not having a Samsung device since Galaxy II,i'd like some info regarding rooting and generally tampering with this device
.Do you lose your warranty if you root this?Or is there any trick like "triangle away" was back in the S2 days..?
Furthermore,do you think this device is a good choice? In my country i find the 16GB variant around 280 Euros, and i can't seem to find anything remotely good for that price..
Lastly, how does the device perform with custom roms?I really hate Touchwiz UI.. :S
Thanks in advance for the help
The bootloader is unlocked on my Tab S 8.4 WiFi only model, not sure about the LTE version if you get it through a carrier like AT&T or Verizon.
As far as rooting goes, super easy with CF Auto Root. Thank You Chainfire. And yes, you will lose your warranty as rooting will trip the knox flag and there's no way of undoing it with Triangle away or any other method.
I haven't tried any custom ROMS yet, but I'm happy with the performance after I debloated it and I'm using Nova Launcher instead of Touchwiz.
Also just to let you know, most of the system files are Odex. Not sure if that matters to you.
That was all i needed to know, thanks for the reply !!
srry but I read pretty much everything here and I don't think isee a proper root.. I just bought this phone and if no root I would like to return it or trade it in.
also is there a adblocker that actually works or is there a tether app that I can use without att knowing??

I'd take it back ASAP because there's no permanent root for it because it's bootloader locked and you're not capable of flashing a different recovery! There is tether root meaning anytime you have to restart your phone you'll need to be by your computer to run a script to get it out of a bootloop! It's not worth keeping in my opinion if you want root! Buy a T-Mobile Note 5 and you can have permanent root and roms!
Take it back and get the international one or a tmobile one unlocked. We are having to much problems with rooting this one.
Maybe someone should check unlocked n5 u like fellows did in s7 edge thread. Using s7 edge u . For att & t-mobile. Think they got root on it. Also running the unlocked software someone fix to work with odin for s7e & t-mobile to flash.

So. I'm trying to root or find a ROM for my Note 4 I don't use it anymore but I want to give it to my wife to play games on (she still has a Note 3). It will NEVER need to connect to AT&T again.
Also I had it unlocked through the AT&T Device Unlock Portal. But again it doesn't need service just WiFi. I just want to get a bloat free super slim ROM that she can use the PlayStore on.
As of right now even after a fresh factory reset with all the AT&T garbage I can't disable I don't know what to do. I do have experience using Odin and flashing Samsung phones.
I've done it on multiple devices in the past. The problem is everyone trying to root or ROM their phone wants to us it as a phone. (can't blame them.) I just want this to be like i said
a crappy little gaming mini tablet for her. So I thought this might be a different situation....
Just use this method to disable the things that you don't want:

I bought galaxy watch and I own a rooted xiaomi mi 9.
Samsung pay on my smartphone says I cant use it because its rooted, even if im using magisk hide and safety net is passing. I can even use google pay, everything works but samsung pay!
Can you help me?
Looks like ive resolved it..i renamed magisk with random name, deleted every reference innfile system (every folder named twrp/magisk ecc), then it started working
As I know with rooted smartphone don't working pay service. I guess reason is security. If you found a way to get this service with rooted smartphone - lucky you. But even banks as I know stopping to work if detecting that smartphone is rooted. Anyway I can't understand why need these days to root smartphone even with not stability OS which is not official and only creator know will be any new version of it or not. Smartphones these days have a lot of memory is powerful and most apps they letting to delete or hide it. Why need to modify original stock ROM? For problems with service, because like this one stopping to work and need to find way to get it again. I just can't understand.
Hi. How r u doing?
I have been rooted the device and remove it and flashing the stock firmware. But, the problem is I cant use the Samsung health or Samsung pay or Samsung pass. I see some solution but it needs to root the device again! and I don't want to root it again.
If anyone has a solution to my problem please help me.
Thanks.
You blew the efuse when you rooted it. The efuse is a micro chipset "fuse" similar to those used in a PROM, it's a one shot deal.

The stock firmware and/or Knox apps sees those flagged apps. The knox based apps are designed to be hard to hack. A modified Samsung Pay could be a security risk even if you could do it.
I don't think you can modify that on a stock rom; it's hard or impossible even on a rooted device.
Find a work around on your rooted device and be happy. If you want stock, replace the mobo.
Someone here might have a better plan for you though as I haven't played with this. There are others here looking for similar solutions, if you find any post them.
