[Working] Always On Display, really easy... no root... just two apk - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hi friends, i've tried this mod on my Galaxy Tab S3 LTE (SM-T825Y) and worked great but screen layout (when on Always On Display) seems to be set the dpi to phone config... if someone can help with a fix for that would be gorgeous to have a full screen Always On Display

I installed it also o tab s2 t819, working without issues...
Is it safe for screen, not to burn in?
How you estimate battery life sacrifice in AOD case?

Battery, seems to last the same by now... 2 days working... got some issues when unlocking screen... sometimes have to press power button twice... about burn out i dont think

Battery drain extortionately high on my Tab S3 charged it to 100% left always on display on whilst I slept for 7 hours approximately and lost 50% of my charge in the process it has a 6000 mAh battery !

That sounds darn good if you got 7 hours of screen on and only used 50% of your battery.

But that is 7 percent per hour on the s7 which is where the act was originally ported from it drains about 7 percent in a night only the white pixels are meant to be activated as it is an amoled display. The Tab S3 has a bigger screen yes so more pixels will be activated to upscale the image but it's also has a bigger battery by miles

Is it safe for the display of the tab S3 ??
Can nothing burn in there isn Display ??

doesn't work anymore. Just shows the lockscreen now

Always on Display
You can get the screen on result without rooting or downloading any app. All you need to do is unlock developer options, tap on model number 7 times. Once unlocked, there will be a setting for it, Stay Awake, under Developer options. Only works while charging, though to prevent rapid battery drainage.
I only use while working to prevent tab from going to sleep. I turn screen off plus close cover of auto wake folio when not in use to prevent screen burn.

I'M using Oxygen 0.2.2 Beta Rom. Yesterday I recalibrate my battery, closed unnecessary programs, turn off wifi, 3g, gps and bluetooth. Morning I checked battery level and shocked battery leves was about %75. I checked if there any memory leaked program but I couldn't find something like that.
Display used battery percantage dramatically high?
What is the problem? Screen was turned off naturally.
'My Battery Kills Me' - sounds like the title of a cheap horror film - LOL
How long is 'overnight'? 8, 10 hours?
25% in that time sounds quite reasonable to me.
@cr1960 25% over 8 hr with wifi and 3g off is not normal and if you experience this i would check what is causing your drain.
@yapay Install current widget, place it on one of the home screens and set it up to wright to the log every 5 min. Then turn your phone in to flight mode overnight and the next day check the log, if you have more than 1 mA usage regularly during the night there is something using to much power. Install a monitoring app from the market and let it run during the night to find out what.
If it's mostly around 1 mA than your problem probably is gone after another charge.
Screen is very high for only 1.5h ish. Looks looks like you have high brightness settings and a lot of white/blue images being displayed.

[Q] Battery issue?

Here's a screenie from my battery screen, I know the battery is a common problem, but when I see shots from others battery screen their screen and OS percentages seem much lower. My screens set at about 20-30%. Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or any suggested apps/roms you have. Rooted CDMA.

Te longer you have the screen ON and are using the device then the more power it uses over a period of time
Tap on the screen % to see your screen on time. This device currently sucks a lot of power through the high pixel display. You can switch to manually adjusting seen brightness to save some battery.

@rbiter I am curious how long has your Galaxy Nexus been running before it turns off? I have gotten about 8.5-9 hours the one time i ran mine all the way down. That is with auto brightness on and lots of browsing and no games and some calls.
Frankly I have been disappointed with the battery performance so far. I love the phone of course, but just wished they would come out with replacement stock batteries so I can go as long
as i need, without having to swap out the backs etc.

You could always just use the extended battery w/ the extended battery back cover. That cover works also fits pretty well with the stock battery.

[There is a very small part where the battery charged while attached to a computer due to syncing over a few songs. I only seem to recall that battery going up by 1% at this time]
Anyone have any suggestions?
After installing snapdragon battery Guru i mentioned verry low speaker audio during phone Calls. uninstalling fixed the behavior.

That was with about 3 hours of gps on and using Google maps and a route planner for my deliveries today. I don't know if that's good as I've yet to use it like this before.
I have all off screen and on screen gestures turned off except the 3 fingers for screen shot. Auto brightness and wifi was off today as well.
The other day I let my phone idle for 9ish hours while I slept and I lost 4%, that was also putting the cell data to edge though.
I also use the greenify app, not the built in greenify. Haven't messed with the built in greenify does it work the same way?
Tapped out on my beastly OPPO Find 7a
This has got to be a bug...
Unplugged, drove to work and noticed no drain on the monitor.
The phone was trickle charged by my router though overnight, not through the OEM charger
I disabled the gestures, that helped a lot.

Too fast battery drain

Hello,
I have my Nexus 5x since 2016 and I change the battery 3 months ago. Despite this, all days I have to charge the phone before the end of the day. In settings, I see that the screen is use approximatively 2 hours before shutting down. So that's not enough ! Do you have an idea about this issue ? I repeat that my battery is a new one...

It does not have to be battery related, it could be a software or hardware issue as well.
It is possible that some app keeps the phone awake.
One possible solution to that is to use an app ( I use GSam Battery Monitor Pro) to find out what is draining the battery.
If that does not give a clear answer then you could factory reset the phone and see if that improves the situation.
If that also doesn't help then you could have a hardware issue. It happens on some phones, I have a (spare) Nexus 5X here that also drains the battery while sitting idle.
I just use it for experiments and keep it on the charger all day
what SoT were u getting when u first changed the battery?
considering normal SoT time for n5x is around 3-4 hours, plus (im guessing) cheaper 3rd party battery, these numbers wouldnt surprise me.
also, we know nothing about what apps you have installed or what android you're using.
Hello,
I installed a new 2700 mAh battery like the original. I don't us many apps just have social medias, web browsing and youtube... I confirm : today shutting down at 5 PM, less than 2 hours of SoT

I'm not sure if it's specific to lineage os, but if you scroll down on the battery settings page, it may show the battery use % for each app at the bottom. If that's there, try using your device as normal for a day, then check that when it gets down to 5% or so and see what's eating all your battery.

Question Protect battery option

How many use this option? If so, is it worth stretching battery life to decrease the time between charging?
Really its the first time i saw it.
I left it off.
I use all my phones the same and havent seen any battery problems.
So i dont see why this one should be different
I turned it on for a day, but this isn't the biggest battery on the market, so I'm leaving it off.
I use it. Prior to this being baked into One UI, I got into the habit of charging my devices to 80% and it grew on me. It's a tip I got from the Accubatery app. It's a simple way to add less wear to your battery.
Oddly, my phone fresh out the box with only 5 charging cycles from 15/20% to 80% has an 88% battery health score. My Fold2 which I had since launch has a 96% battery health score...
There is no consensus as to whether to use this option?

It's all dependent upon how you use the phone. Turning it on will absolutely be better for your phone, but you will lose that 15% battery life. Your charging habits also matter. If you're a person that just always puts it on a charger when not using it, you would see more improvement from turning it on than someone that only puts it on the charger when it's low. The benefits are minimal. It shouldn't largely matter, but if you keep the same phone for many years it will help improve its life.
It's early days with the device so battery performance is still an unknown for a while longer, but I enabled the battery protect option from the start. As of yesterday I'm able to get 5 hours of SOT with the maximum charge at 85%. That performance holds up over time and I'll end up leaving the option enabled.

I use the protection when I'm home, 5 days a week. I just place the phone on a wireless charger when not in use during the day.
When I'm going out, I'll turn it off to get the full 100%.
Frankly I love the option to do this. I used to use an app that notified me at 90%. Now I don't need to bother. My only gripe is that I can't easily set a toggle for the setting. I'm planning on finding the setting name with adb and using tasker to create a toggle, preferably on a weekday frequency
I turn it on because I usually charge overnight. Leaving phone trickle charging at 85% is less detrimental to battery compared to 100%
i use it, still got 5hrs sot
Got a doubt. Does the Battery Protection Mode works when the phone is charged in switch off state ? By switch off I mean completely switched off not just locking the screen of the phone.
