Hi there. I am looking for the apk file from the YouTube app from the fire tv box. (that one, I get via the app store). Probably there is a problem. I could not download it without a amazon fire device.
I want to use it for my alfawise TV box because my wife doesn't like that youtube app which is used there

Not sure where you can get the apk from but if u are unable to find one, side load an app called lucky patcher on to a fire TV and you can use the app to create an apk of the installed ftv-YouTube app then use es file explorer to transfer the created apk to the new TV box. Long winded I know but if you can't find the apk this can be your plan B
Hope this helps
I have sold my fire TV. So I am not able to backup the app
Maybe someone else could help me and make a backup for me??

How can I copy a kindle fire apk to another android tablet? I am planning on getting my son a Nexus 7, his favorite app is watch disney xd, that he watches on an ipad. There is no app for android proper, but the app exists in the kindle app store. I would get him a Kindle fire hdx, but there is no rear facing camera.
Thanks for the help...pw
Find out if it is 1 or 2 gen. If it is one gen, Ok. First root (find the KFU in the android dev foum.) Now install es file explorer from google play (install that from KFU). Now install the disney app, and open es file explorer, turn on root, give it root permissions, and navigate to data/app and find the disney xd apk. Copy it to the sdcard partition. Now connect kindle to computer. Then find the apk, and place it on your desktop. Copy it to your nexus 7 and use es file explorer to install. If it is 2 gen, root using a different method and then do steps 3 onward.

Does anyone have the apk to share? I have been looking high and low for this app.
Actually if anyone has any of these it would be greatly appreciated:

One helluva lot easier way to do this is just to install the app store (from amazon.com) on the Nexus 7 and download the game directly!

This doesn't work with those particular kindle apps. Market helper won't work either.

What's the deal with the Market Helper app? Why won't it help? I know what Market Helper is used for, but have the big name app stores caught onto this sneaky little app and found a work-around to STILL block specific devices from dl'ing device specific apps? Reason being, I've got a Galaxy Note 3 and I'm trying to get the Watch Disney Jr. app on my phone for my son, but I'm havin a heck of a time figuring this out! lol
I would like to know if someone who has a Fire TV could share the build.prop system file here.
I have a Ouya console and I would like to try to edit the build.prop to make Amazon servers think it's a Fire TV and let me download Amazon exclusive games with controller support.
Its in my system dump.

Attached, from the OTA.
Let me know how that goes with the OUYA. I'd love to get the FireTV apps (Netflix, specifically) working on mine.

Wait what? any show without plus ?? are you sure? or is it only few shows??
I have sort of the same question but opposite direction - possibility of altering KFTV build.prop to allow apps from the amazon appstore that spamazon claims are "not compatible" with firetv, but if you sideload them work 100% fine...?

Yes omg why don't more people know about this! You can watch free content from any android device without plus... And yes. Only android. If you can watch it free on PC you can watch it portable on any android Device. (sorry iPhone ;3)
I made a thread about this and for the most part it was forgotten and buried.
I can do it using build.prop editor, But my question of "IS IT SAFE. " was never answered.

Hulu allowed android users to stream free content that they can get on desktop free on mobile. It's only android. Not iPhone Every other platform (even the Desktop WIndows 8.1 app) requires a paid plus account. I was watching a full anime series (BECK) on the official hulu app on my Note 3 with a free account via chromecast screen mirroring. Using the Hulu Plus app on my smartphone. FREE. It's possible. I can jump on my Nexus 7 and go to the hulu app with a free account and pop on attack on titan without any issues (well with ads of course)
http://blog.hulu.com/2014/07/30/sample-free-content-on-hulu-for-android-2/
It says so here.
My problem is...is that when android hulu app starts up. It looks at the build.prop to see what device and model it is...and if it doesn't match the criteria of an android smartphone or tablet, it will be denied the free login.
currently my XBMC'd Fire TV has a "bueller" code name and a AFTV in the model area. Which is telling Hulu it's not an official android phone or tablet. I already used market helper to get full range of play store apps but that's just for the play store. My theory is that, if I change the build prop model and build names to my nexus 7 (2012) would it trick hulu into thinking the AFTV was a Nexus 7? thus allowing free content "sampling?"
I've changed the build.prop on my other devices for various things and reasons in the past and I can do it now. But is it safe to do on a AFTV??

I don't have an iPhone but I wonder if Fire TV/Stick qualifies for it?
interesting..
EDIT: just made a seperate free account most shows I watch Show H+ (to get plus) I got plus last year for someone for like 30 something bucks. Hopefully I can find similar deal I'd say Hulu is pretty good in my opinion.

No... The fire TV OR stick would not count. The Hulu app doesn't work for free nor does the sideloaded android apk.. But that's where the build.prop spoofing comes in. If I changed it to be a different device would Hulu work for free thinking it's an android tablet or phone? Instead of an android TV box?

It tricks google play into thinking the FTV is a phone. It might work for Hulu.

Looking for the same thing I called customer service they told me they are working on a new app for geo error we are getting but I don't know how long that will be if some one can adb pull there YouTube app and share it here would truly appreciate it that way we can sideload it and see if that works

Nobody in here that can actually provide a copy of the Youtube apk for FireTV? I'm having the same problem here. When I try and buy any of the free apps on the Fire TV, I get the good old geo-restriction errors. Also cant get them using a web-browser. The APK's that are available from the Play Store and the one for the Google TV are not ideal.
Could somebody please try and see if they have the apk they could upload somewhere so we can adb it to our devices? Great many thanks to someone willing to help out here!
???
What about the YouTube HD MOD also found here on XDA as a direct apk download?
Then again I want one with unrestricted access that doesn't block certain videos because of Android.
Some of Pewdiepie's videos (BattleBlock Theater Part #3) don't appear on his channel through the app,but I can find them by directly searching for them in the app.
Hey, guys, try this, just pulled from my device for you.

This one was installed using Play store, it's a google tv version. I like it.
Have you tried YouTube for XBMC?
Not sure if the Youtube XBMC add-on will solve your problems but it's worth a shot for sure.
So my Fire TV managed to update itself after I blocked it during the initial setup. Hasn't bother me too much until now. I bought and side loaded SlingPlayer for android and it works ok. Requires a mouse to select certain functions but otherwise it works very well. My problem is that after running the app one time, on the second load it says it can't authenticate. I'm guessing there is nothing I can do since I cannot root but I thought I would ask here. Right now I just uninstall and side load again. Any ideas?

You need a different apk. If you did legitimately buy it you should install google play services and install slingplayer through that.
I am unable to install play services because I can't root. I've used APK extractor on my Galaxy Tab twice since I bought the app to try and make sure I had an authenticated copy

If your intent is to side load and install an apk to the FTV from PC, then you're looking for the Amazon Fire TV Utility App.
There is also AGK Fire that lets you side load and transfer apps directly from your smartphone.
I use an app called caze
