Hello, my phone just deleted itself after it restarted itself.. i have ICE ROM and it never happened before. I didnt make backup with twrp recovery before so i couldnt recover it. Is there any chance to bring it back? It restarted somehow in thr twrp recovery mode and automatically wiped. Thanks for help.
It also somehow deleted my SD card. Is it even possible? Lost 1,1k photos and 1.2+k songs. Holy mother.
Okay so now i know the reason. My loveky GF accidentaly removed my phone from the google account and it forced my phone to delete itself. Is there any chance that i can return it back to normal?

What was on your SD is probably gone forever. You don't use Google Photos to back up pics? Unlimited storage there.
Run the appropriate RUU for your device, and when you sign in to Google you should be able to restore it back to what is was, more or less. Photos and songs will probably be gone though.

RUU is ROM Update Utility.
What does it say next to "OS" in download mode? With that info I could direct you to the proper RUU for your device.

It says 2.41.401.3
I have the idea his OS still works but all info is gone. As he says he signed into Google and nothing happened. I might misinterpreted that part. Maybe the OP can shine a light on that particular part.

WoW... we're not talking about the intern Storage, we're talking about a MicroSD card here right?
Damn.... Google sure is clean in their wipes.

Now i am still a bit confused. Does your phone boot into a working OS ? I'm asking this because xunholy is giving the option to perform a RUU which isn't necessary if the phone still works.
I actually flashed LeeDroid rom now and it works.

Tip for future refference, save your contacts to your sim card not your phone. That way they'll always be there. Whenever flashing a new ROM everything gets deleted it's like getting a new phone. So always backup anything you want. There's no chance for recovery that I know of man. I hope this helped you for the future though!
ouch it seems im badly .... up
thx anyway <.<

Other thing is that you copy all of your folders when you activesync to your computer, so when you flash again you can copy them back to your phone.

So like I previously stated BACKUP YOUR FILES.
I just got my Gs3 Replacement and for some reason i cant get my pc to recognize the phone so i can transfer files. Do the drivers from my last Gs3 have anything to do with this?

Same Issue here, someone said to go back to stock, and then reflash everything. Let me know if you found a better solution.

Finally got it to work by just doing a factory reset. I was stock none rooted. But trying to root at the time.

This happened to me after I switched Roms, but I just did a factory reset and re flashed the ROM and it seemed to do the trick.
Gremlins I guess, always best to do a data wipe and factory reset.
You can use a regular SD card reader. JS

Yeah, but it is very important to have the ability to have your phone connect to your PC, this makes things much easier and quicker as well.
Also you can't access the internal memory of your phone, this solution just solves half of the battle.
Hey guys, i just got a used M8 and the previous owner hard reset it before giving it to me..
So i lost everything from the internal sd, could someone upload a back up for me?
I'm looking mostly for the items in the following folders:
.data
.showme
DCIM
Download
Music
and the root of the sd..
Thanks in advance for any help!
Of course the previous owner deleted everything , but you lost it.....that's kinda weird because what is your stuff doing on another person's phone ! What you expect ?
If an app needs it's folder it will create it. Not sure what your problem is ?
I didn't had my stuff on the phone. I wrote that i want back the stock stuff that htc put's in storage, like stock photos, music etc..
Anyone?

Had this happen, as I factory resetted (from bootloader) because I was having random reboots. Wasn't expecting to lose all the preloaded media, to be honest I usually weed out any unwanted stuff anyway, but though that surely that stuff should survive a factory reset. Thankfully, after updating firmware the reboots appear to have gone.
Below is a thread for restoring T-Mobile preload I found, as I have the international model I wouldnt be using this but was going to have a look at the compressed archive to see if anything can be extracted.

This archive only has some apk's and some png's for the camera effects. I already have those since i'm using a custom rom.
I just want to get back the preloaded pictures, music etc..

Ah, no use then. I just tweeted HTC UK to see what they say, worth a shot as I can't find these things anywhere else. I'll let you know what they say.:fingers-crossed:

HTC's response at the link below. I hadnt backed anything up as I thought this stuff was 'built-in' and store internally and so wouldnt be affected. I hadn't really set the phone up properly, which is also why I didnt try to back up anything. So unless someone who is possibly rooted can extract the files there doesnt seem to be any other way of getting them.

So a friend of mine updated his G3 to lollipop and he's facing two main issues:
Settings isn't opening at all. It FC's right when you open it
Messages app also force closes many times
the most annoying problem: Alarm if set, phone only vibrates no matter even if sound is set to full.
And force closes of apps frequently.
Can you borrow his phone and reflash everything with a fresh download from one of the XDA threads? Perhaps it was a bad flash?

He didn't flash, he updated OTA and I think I can, he's pretty busy person though.
Was looking for a more easy solution.
Yeah well it still has some degree of flashing I think. Just try a factory reset to stay on the safe side. Then alternately try reflashing. A factory reset shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes.

Okay, just tell me. It won't wipe sd right? From the option that comes when you try to enter recovery, don't know about lg's recoveries and stuff

Just take out the SD card. I dont think it would. I haven't had this phone for long but I dont see why it would do that. It hasn't for any of my other phones.

I meant the internal sd card. I also don't see why it should but you never know what OEMs do
As the title says. I'm selling this phone (not for performance issues, just I want the iPhone ), and I need a step-by-step
guide on how to COMPLETELY wipe it. No logs, nothing. Back to original out-of-the-box phone. Thank you!
Here you go.

Performing a full data format with a custom recovery multiple times will leave no personal information. Then you can go do your restore to stock ROM

Is this your first phone? First android phone? I mean a quick google search would of told you how to reset as well. Also factory reset is just that a factory reset that puts your phone back to factory specs like when you first got it. Also better information in your post would of been to let us know if you were rooted or not and not your bad phone purchasing choice.... j/k not really LOL
Hope you got it all sorted out if not let us know we will be more than happy to send you off the right way :good:

This is my first android phone, yes. It was rooted as well. I'm having a problem resetting though. I oem locked, flashed to stock recovery, and tried to do the adb usb thing. However, it keeps saying that it cannot read file. Please help! I reinstalled the drivers already. Thank you!
