Substratum question

Does it work on the stock 7.1.1ROM?
It works in Legacy mode.
No it does not work ATM. The November security update broke RRO. It will probably be fixed with the next security patch for 7.1.1.

New pixel c owner, latest update is 7.1.1?

Recently purchased a pixel c, updated to what tablet is calling the latest up to date software at 7.1.1. I thought this tablet was up to 7.1.2 now, no? Anything I can do to push tablet to update?
Thanks in advance :good:
Edit: build number is N4F26I and listed as having January 2017 security updates
Edit 2: checked for updates again, update for 02/2017 now available, but only able to download via an unmetered network until June 25th. I guess linked to my phone hotspot is considered metered and I'll have to wait patiently for these updates to trickle in.

Download the June update from here. (it's been 7.1.2 since April) > https://developers.google.com/android/ota
ADB sideload the update each month. No need to wait for the OTA.

Nova 2, Updater didn´t work

Hi!
I´m still on Android Patchlevel 2017 and there is nothing like "System Update" under "Settings/About Phone".
When I search "update" in settings, there is an app called "Updater" with a green arrow in square symbol but I couldn´t start it.
Developer and USB-Debugging is activated.
Model-Number: PIC-LX9
Build: System 5.1.0.78
EMUI: 5.1
Android: 7.0
Security Patch: 5. july 2017
Any clue for an easy update without loosing data?
thanks and regards

To Pie or not to Pie...

My wife's phone died so I gave her my spare Pixel. We've got it all setup with her stuff on it. Should I upgrade it to Pie or leave it on Oreo?
I read some where Pie was causing issues.. thoughts?
Thanks in Advance.

Love Pie. Go here: [Guide] Pixel XL Android 9.0.0 (Pie) Unlock/Lock Bootloader + Install Stock Images/Custom kernels/TWRP Recovery/Systemless ROOT + October 2018 Security Patch
Do #4 'keep data', then #7 or #8 if you want root.
The Guide work for Pixel too you just have to down the Pixel (sailfish) files.

Thank you!
Absolutely stay on Oreo will be my advice.
The problem with staying on oreo is that you will lose any fixes and security updates, unless you pick like cm 15.1 and thats already moving toward 16 which is also pie based.
Basically if you dont want a stagnant non changing buid you will have to go to pie
I like Pie, for me there are some minor issues here and there, but not so much trouble with things like battery, charging, lag ect.
For me everything works just fine, and I like the new look

How to avoid crash that happens when using ACTION_WIFI_ADD_NETWORKS intent in the android 11 devices

In our app, we are trying to add a wifi network programmatically using the EAP-SIM method. Until Android 9 version devices, we are using AddNetwork API. In Android 10 devices, we are using AddNetworkSuggestions API. In the higher version devices (Android 11), when we tried using AddNetworkSuggestions, it returned an error code "STATUS_NETWORK_SUGGESTIONS_ERROR_ADD_NOT_ALLOWED".
So as an alternative, we are currently using ACTION_WIFI_ADD_NETWORKS intent to add our network into the Saved Networks (as suggested by Google - https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/171909438). For reference we are using this link https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/connectivity/wifi-save-network-passpoint-config
The crash issue was happening in Pixel devices previously when we tested around Dec 2020 and Jan 2021. We noticed that the issue got fixed in the 5th Feb 2021 security patch release in Pixel devices. So in our codes we implemented a workaround of checking if the Security Patch Level of the device is greater than the ValidPatch which is 2021-02-05 and then we proceeded with calling the intent. Even with this check, the crash still happens in a Redmi Note 9s device with Android version 11 RKQ1.200826.002 and Android Security patch update 2021-04-01.
Anyone facing/faced a similar issue and got any workaround to avoid the crash?
Or
Does anyone have another way of adding a wifi network programmatically using the EAP-SIM method in Android 11 and higher version devices?
Or
Does anyone have info on when the update with the fix for the crash will be released?
