Read that just 10 minutes ago! Other than the November security patch, it'd be better to update routers firmware too to stay safe

Absolutely. Anything going over internet is not secured. There are 100 ways to secure it but 101 to break it.
There was an interesting article on Google's inter al security check and the kibd if security they implemented was great. Break the security internally and then fix it.

New Android Wear update - now we really need to know if Moto 360 has Wi-Fi

Google announced a new update for Android Wear. This update enables "phone-free" functionality so the watch does not have to be in Bluetooth range from the phone to work, it can also function if connected to a Wi-Fi network.
So does the Moto 360 have a working Wi-Fi implementation or not ? What is the consensus ? If not, this would be a good reason to upgrade.
http://googleblog.blogspot.ro/2015/04/android-wear-wear-what-you-want-get.html
It has a disabled wifi chip that was filed with the FCC, assuming it'll be turned on with this update.
It does have it, Motorola said so in their own blog

I wouldn't call it a weird statement. It is likely the software update that will enable this functionality - I doubt it is any sort of hardware limitation.

Just download and install from http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...roid-wear-1-1-1-1867902-android-apk-download/
Wifi option is there under cloud sync.
But no updating on watch...

What build number and software number is the new FW? I got software 5.0.2, is that the new one?
It's only the android update side. I think we still need them to push the watch side.
i've updated my android wear app and wifi is enabled..I'm at work and have wifi here. i can walk to another office over 100 feet away and still connected where as yesterday it would say it was not connected.

Can anyone else confirm that the WiFi features are now fully functional on BOTH the App and the Watch? According to this Motorola blog.. it's going to be rolled out over the next "few" weeks: http://motorola-blog.blogspot.com/2015/04/moto-360-its-time-for-update.html?m=1
Updated to the newest Android Wear, enabled cloud sync and was in wifi range - waited some time for things to "sync" and verified the newest android wear and play services were installed on my watch. No sign of any Wifi connection to the 360 here. I don't believe it will be enabled until we get new firmware for the watch itself.

Tethering & Portable Hotspot

I don't know if this is already been asked but anyway, I just got my Oneplus 3 recently and I'm loving every minute of my use but there is one problem which is bugging me the whole day.... I am not able to share my mobile carriers internet via USB Tethering or Portable Hotspot to another android device or PC.
WiFi is connected but not internet access. Is this something to do with Android 6.0 Marshmallow update or how do I enable Internet access to other devices? please guide me..... Thanks!

I actually had the same issue. I can tether and have a working connection for maybe 30 seconds and then there's no longer internet access. It has worked in the past (at least in August) before the last two updates. Currently on T-Mobile.

I am using oneplus 3 on T-mobile and get the same problem. after I configured my hotspot wifi on OP3, the other device can connect to it. but it would not get the internet access. I was on the bleeding edge 3.2.7 version of Oxygen OS. after talked to the tek support of oneplus, their level 2
guy resinstalled 3.2.1 oxygen OS on my device. after that, hotspot wifi works pretty well. so that was a software issue. I am not sure the patch between 3.2.1 to 3.2.7 has a bug on hotspot or the OTA update cause the issue. but anyway, it is working now.
Can anyone else confirm this is Oxygen OS 3.2.7 bug please??? i need to make sure before I downgrade back to 3.2.1.

Before you mess around with your efs partition i suggest just trying a custom rom . freedom if you like stock or any of the others if u not into stock...restoring efs is an almost impossible task
Reading this, it occurred to me I had not really tried tethering since I moved from my Nexus 5X to the OP3 a couple months ago. Just set up WiFi tethering and it seems to work perfectly.
- Using WPA2 PSK security
- Tethered device is a MacBook Air
- Carrier is T-Mobile US
- Stock ROM, unrooted, latest Oxygen OS 3.2.8
I use tethering on mine. 3.5.5 beta 7. No issues sharing with multiple devices.
I've been doing this a long time buddy and this is why it's happening to me cause when I'm on either AICP or RR 7.1 nougat it will not allow me to click the tethering button. Also I have my efs backed up to my computer and my phone. I realize there's a lot of newbs on here but I'm far from one of them. Im back on oxygen now on which I've never had any problems with any of the stock functions, ever
Hi! Has anyone managed to get this to work?
I'm having this situation for as long as I have my op3.. Can connect but no internet access.. If other phones serve as hotspot I can connect and have internet with no problems.
Any suggestions?

Everyone!!!! It's not an issue with the software from samsung... If you download the latest Google play services 11.0.33 the device will pass safetynet check, store will show certified and Android pay will work as expected!!! I did this and it worked for me on my S8+.
Just an update on the situation, I have reached out to T-Mobile via Twitter Support and they have informed me that they are aware of the issue and will fix in the next update. (Hoping soon)
Hey there! Thanks so much for reaching out about this and bringing it to our attention. We have noted this issue down and we are making adjustments for when our next update comes out from Samsung! S20+ WiFi issues after android 11 update ? ( exynos )

Guys is it just me or the phone is facing some wifi strength issues after latest update to one ui 3.0, android 11 ?
Sudenly phone gets disconnected from the wifi quite often regarldess of am i at home or not, and signal strength is good if i dont walk too much away from the wifi source.
Is any1 else facing similar issues with wifi after this update ?

I am having the exact same issue. I can't even leave my phone on wifi now. Every other device is fine on wifi.
Clear system cache on the boot menu.
Reset network settings.
If that doesn't get it...
Hard wipe and reload, after a major firmware update this is recommended.

Make sure it isn't a 3rd party app messing it up.
Otherwise either a bad download or the the software is buggy.
You can wait to see if Sammy pushes out a fix or take it a Samsung Experience center or send it to Samsung.
It must be quit the terror... that's why I tend not to update. In practice it's been far less trouble for me.

I worked out my bad battery life was due to earlier updates (Sept, Oct) causing 5GHz Wi-Fi issues and random drops. Even with the phone 1.5m from my Ruckus WAP it'd eat battery sitting there doing nothing at a crazy rate. Switching to 2.4GHz has almost completely fixed the battery drain problem for me. Almost, as in fairly close to how the phone was with the July update.
I had a lot of confidence in Samsung's updates after buying the phone in April, each update seemed to improve the phone and the battery life was great. We've owned many Galaxy phones since S3 but always rooted them with some flavour of AOSP ROMs, and this is the first Samsung phone I have not rooted so I was relying on Samsung to regularly update the ROM with improvements. Dumb ...
So I agree with @blackhawk ... no way am I updating to Android 11/One UI 3 for at least 6 months, maybe never. I've downloaded the July firmware in case I get so frustrated I wipe and reload the phone. I'm not a gamer and I don't spend massive amounts of time on the internet so "security updates" might not be that important. I'm an old IT guy and very suspicious/vigilant about what I click on.
If only there was a way to stop the System Update regularly pestering me to install what seems to be a worse update than all the others, judging by the range of comments posted so far.
