N910VVRU2CQF2 Rootable and Bootloader unlockable? - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had this phone rooted and unlocked when it was 5.0.1.
my brother upgraded it to 6.0.1 N910VVRU2CQF2 by mistake.
Can I root and unlock the bootloader again?
Thank you

I personally have no clue, but from what I do know, when I upgraded from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 or whatever it is/was, I had to do the rooting/unlocking process again. We all did. Have you even tried it? If so, are you getting any errors? I noticed that hsbadr's thread on stock ROMs isn't updated to this version, yet. You might want to wait around for someone to give you a more firm answer. I'm just giving you food for thought.

EDIT: Maybe this thread will help you. It's actually updated to CQI2, so "maybe" you're good to go. - https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...t/howto-bootloader-unlock-upgrade-to-t3398144

[Q] How do i downgrade to 4.1.1?

I need to unlock my phone.
A step by step guide will help me big time. I updated to the newest update which is 4.3 but then people were saying if i downgrade it'll brick my phone. Is there any way to downgrade?
You need to be on a completely stock 4.1.1 ROM, including the bootloader. Since you have updated to the latest 4.3 ROM, you would have the 4.3 bootloader on your phone and this bootloader cannot be downgraded.

You are stuck as there is no way for you to revert to prior roms. You heard and read correctly...if you try and revert your phone to a version prior to 4.3, it will be nothing more than an expensive paperweight (bricked). If the phone is an AT&T model, call AT&T and see if they will give you the unlock code.

Just waiting for them to send me the code, hopefully they will :| Thanks for everyone that replied

Just need a bit of help getting going

So Ive searched around and I just can't find a definitive answer so here is what I got.
I understand that this here; is how you use marshmallow with the new bootloader unlock and root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...t/howto-bootloader-unlock-upgrade-to-t3398144
I also know that I have to do this exploit first to unlock the bootloader: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/general/note-4-verizon-bootloader-unlock-t3358913
My issue is I ended up getting forced OTA 2 weeks ago. So my current question is, Do I have to roll back to lollipop? Is root/unlock even possible for me? If so, How do I do that since I haven't rolled back before. Its been a while since I've been into rooting/roms. Is there a link to doing it for marshmallow to lollipop? Also what about the firmware?
Current Stats:
Model: SM-N910V
Baseband: N910VVRU2CPD1
Android Version: 6.0.1
Build: MMB29M.N910VVRU2CPD1
Kernel Version: 3.10.40
I just need an answer since Ive been reading threads the last 2 hours. Its confusing since the titles of most are how to unlock bootloader THEN goto marshmallow. Thanks Guys!
I think I solved it myself. Looking like I'm effed with this bootloader. Since I don't think its rootable or unlockable.

You can try to roll back to 5.1.1 by flashing the full firmware (thanks, hsbadr!) using ODIN. You can unlock the bootloader on this version.
The question is, will your phone let you. In another thread, the success rate appears to be something less than 100%. I don't know what the harm would be... if you can't do it, ODIN will likely fail. At any rate, the attempt is on you. I can't be responsible for what happens.

Just frustrated right now trying to get Wifi to work. It looks like its suggested to try Flashing MM Stock, Reroot and Re-unlock bootloader here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...t/howto-bootloader-unlock-upgrade-to-t3398144
Then use TWRP after all that.

Just make sure you're paying attention to what you're flashing. There are only three roms in the verizon development section that are able to utilize the 6.01 bootloader and modem. JASMINE ROM, PAULPIZZ 6.01 Beta and Cm13. The other roms are ports based on 5.1.1 so you may need to stay on the previous setup until more roms are updated
Tip the OP usually states what works/does not work and updates when things are fixed . The information changes quickly so sometimes you may need to read the thread from the end back to the beginning to see if your issues have been addressed
It was actually super simple once I found the thread on how to go back to 5.1.1 then how to take that and go unlocked w/ marshmallow chain. Last thing to figure out is disabling OTA on Jasmin ROM

Verizon unlocked/rooted. Any update issues known?

I have my bootloader unlocked and the phone is rooted, but I'm on the stock Verizon ROM. Any warnings/issues known with updating from NDE63P? Thanks!
No problems here. I've installed the last three versions of WETA on mine.

The consensus seems to be that as long as bootloader is unlocked a firmware update can't relock it. I asked this question, and someone explained that Verizon would have to specifically ask Google to come up with something in an update that relocked the bootloader, which is highly unlikely. You should be able to update without any fear of any issues.

So doing the OTA update to 7.1.1 is good to go? I did unlock it and root it. Just got the update last night. It is a Verizon phone. Loving it so far as an honest opinion.

Yeah, I'm on the latest update and still unlocked and root. The biggest issue is if you ever have to get a replacement through insurance the unlock method was patched in the latest update, but as long as you're already unlocked and don't relock you're good to go.

Help regarding unrooting, restoring and accepting 7.1.1 OTA.

Hi. Im new here so please help me.
I have a Moto Z Play XT1635-02 on 7.0 with the 1st May Patch installed.
I unlocked the bootloader to root this device.
I rooted with this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z-play/how-to/correct-rooting-moto-z-play-feb-17-t3560268
Now i want to go back to stock firmware to accept the OTA i just recieved for 7.1.1.
My main query is that, i have RETGB device and its on build number NPN25.137-24.3
I can't find any firmware for RETGB software channel.
I did find the OTA for this, which i have downloaded through the moto ota link generator tool by erfanoabdi.
Now, can any one guide me on how to restore stock without messing up my device?
I have downloaded two retail firmwares:
1)XT1635-02_ADDISON_7.0_NPNS25.137-24-1-9_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
2)XT1635-02_ADDISON_7.0_NPNS25.137-24-1-4_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
Is it safe to flash any of these on my May patched device or should i somehow find the may patched firmware?
Waiting for your kind replies! :')

I should flash this through TWRP?
Also after flashing this, the future OTA updates(If any) will be installed without any problems on my retgb channel?

Yes on TWRP no on future updates.. being there is not official release for you. Plus the next major update if it happens would not be till O is released which we would not see till way after the new year.
Once you unlock bootloader and root, no going back...

Thanks brother.
I don't seem to get why the RETGB firmware isn't released.
I literally can't find anyone except i guess two or just 3 people who have the same software channel.
Thanks again!
On the Verizon blackberry priv, there was a way to install the ROM with no Verizon bloatware, no rooting or anything.
Same with my T-Mobile s7 edge, is there something for the Verizon moto z play?

I don't think that its possible with the Verizon MZP.
There's no access for anyone to unlock its bootloader as of yet.
So there's no development for it either.
But who knows? Don't lose the hope! :'D

n910v DE, Stock Firmware, Rooted, looking for some advice.

Hello everyone. Thanks for the immense amounts of information in this forum.
I've been reading a ton of different posts and can't seem to find a clear answer. I'm currently on a DE n910v, stock, rooted, on 4.4.4. So Bootloader is unlocked by default. I want to upgrade to MM, or some cool MM custom rom. Do I need to go through the process of flashing Safe Upgrade of 5.0 to 5.1 onto my 4.4 device, before I jump over to 6? Or can I just jump from 4.4 all the way to MM? I've read a couple of posts that mention the Bootloader being something I should be careful with, but also that now we are able to unlock the Bootloader all the way up to 6. I read the Bootloader for 5.1 and 6 are the same, so that would mean that I can just flash a 6 Safe Upgrade on top of 5.1 and the bootloader wouldn't be a problem?
Also, once I flash the upgrade, does that mean that my DE n910v will become a Retail phone, and thus I'll have to re-unlock the Bootloader? Or can I keep my bootloader unlocked through the process?
Thanks a ton if you can help me. I'll keep researching, but if anyone has any suggestions for a good path to take, and some advice on the bootloader thing, I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you!
i'm in the same boat as you. N4, DE, kitkat. If i find something i'll let you know
Quite simply... forget about DE. It's dead. Flash to full retail and follow the instructions for unlocking your BL in the sticky.
Still the best phone ever!
