Hi Dear Comunity i have problems with my LG G5 LS992 Sprint this phone was bought in EEUU, but i am using in Venezuela with the carrier Movistar VE, i can configure the APN and the phone is connected to the Movistar Network, download some apps like youtube, telegram, instagram, whatsapp, etc.
My problem is some strange, occurs only with all instant messaging apps, for example:
In Mobile Data i can send text or any emoticons, download and see Videos, Pictures, etc, but if want send (Upload) pictures, voice notes, video, or pictures for the another chat is not possible, is like the phone dont have data connection with the server or have a firewall or some similar, i am check that apps have all permissions (mic, camera, gps, phone, contacts, etc). In the same moment i try open web browser and all is fine.
The problem only occurs using Mobile Data, if i am in Wifi the phone 100% functional, dont have problems
The phone Have Android 7.0 stock mode.
Do You have Any solution to that problem?
I make factory reset, install/uninstall apps, reconfiguring APN, insert MicroSD copy files since internal to MicroSD, Try with another Carrier (the phone is unlocked) and the result is the same.
Sorry for my english.
I have the same problem with LG G5 LS992. Any Solutions?

I think I have changed some settings which I shouldn’t have. I can still connect to the internet using gprs but I have lost connectivity to msn messenger. I have also installed msn mobile and I can not get my hotmail account to work.
Any ideas with the settings as I have long deleted the original ones (work and internet) im thinking that I should put these back on.
Oh and I can not delete the new connections I have made
i have now deleted all connections apart from 2. im unable to delete these so im thinking that these were originally "work" and "the internet" when i have tried to change the names back to the internet and work i get an error message” a connection already has this name". but work or the internet are no where to be found
maybe you could try a full connections reset, by going into the o2active interface, then on the tools icon under the news icon, click that and tap connections, this should bring you to the setup screen, select what you would select, and then try that, if this problem sstarted after installing msn mobile, uninstall it and see if that helps, also do you have the latest messenger update from microsoft website?
it seems that the problem is with my pay and go sim. although i can browse the web it doesn't like 3rd party programs.
i have just put my contract sim in and it works a treat.
so if anyone knows a fix for a pay and go sim that would be great.
I had the same problem today. It seems there was a problem somewhere. All is working now. We will see what happens tomorrow.

Just wondering if there is some root type way to make your phone use ONLY MMS data??
Ive checked with a community specifically for my carrier, and the way they say doesnt work (changing the APN to MMS only.. it lets me select it, but nothing works unless internet + MMS is selected as the type.
So basically im wondering if there is some "illegal" root type of way to allow the same thing? Ive disabled background data on all apps that would let me except messaging (it doesnt seem to have ever used any, and since I want MMS it seemed silly not to allow it).
android itself seems to use a bit of background data and wont let me disallow that.
for the time being im stuck to waiting until im in a wifi area to send or receive MMS as i dont have (or want) a data plan. with my carrier MMS uses the data system but does not charge as though using data - theyre included within unlimited messaging. but sadly they must use the data network. if i could find a way to make sure that ONLY picture messages sending or receiving are using data.... i would be extremely pleased.
Anyone have any experience this?
Im running the rooted but full stock version of ICS 4.0.4 as can be found in the forums here. Dan's i think?
anyway, if someone with more exprience then me could let me know, that would be great!
My carrier uses different APN for internet and MMS, and when I turn off GPRS, I'm still receiving advertising MMS from my carrier. In messages app there is setting to download MMS automatically, and it bypasses my GPRS internet restriction. Working as intended from the box.
But you have an issue with that? If you turn off mobile data, you lose MMS functionality? That's strange... I think it can be either carrier (we certainly don't have same carrier ) or ROM (I'm on cyanogenmod 11, Android 4.4). But there's also a tickbox on the page with data usage graph, called Restrict background data. It tells Android not to use data for background processes, may be that's exactly what you want.
And there's also an app called Droidwall. It's a firewall for Android, you can block access to the mobile data for every program except messaging app and still allow them to work with Wi-Fi. A wonderful app - no internet, no ads!

mine doesnt have any setting for GPRS at all. in fact im not even sure what it stands for! lol.
But thats right, no data = no MMS functioning.
I have gone in and disabled background data for everything that would let me, except the messaging app. and, the android OS itself uses a little bit?? which i cant disable...
Does the firewall actually work? I only ask because, i recently tried a startup manager, which when i went in after reboot, i found that apps i told only to start when called upon were still automatically running when i went into app manager.
If you have root, droidwall should work. It changes iptables, so the selected programs can't send or receive data. Just run it once, apply changes and the changes are persistent until you change them again.
I have used Sony Xperia S (Android 4.1.2; 6.2.B.1.96) for almost 1 and half years. Recently I have changed the mobile carrier. As soon as I inserted the new micro sim card, the mobile started the settings reset automatically. I wasn't even given an option of rejection. After the setting reset, every app that I have dowloaded was gone, together with SMS messages , contact, ect. But the data appears still in the mobile, since the available storage hasn't change and I can use the USB data cable to copy some data out. Is there anyway to recover the data or reverse the unwanted "setting reset"? Especially the SMS and the social app chatting records? My phone hasn't been rooted. :crying::crying::crying:
Hey all, I'm very new to this, so please be nice.
I recently decided to break up with Apple, and I bought the LG WIng. Using Google Drive, I've been able to move contacts, pictures, etc. from my iPhone X to my new LG Wing. The problem I'm having is that I cannot transfer message history.
To add a lyaer of complexity, I do not have a computer. There are instruction on how to transfer messages using computer software, even iTunes, but I have access to none of this.
I read about an app called LG Mobile Switch, which can supposedly transfer messages with a cable. However, this app does not seem to be available in Apple's App Store.
Curious to know if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to overcome it.
Thanks

Not sure from an iPhone. I just used SMS backup but I was going from Android to Android. And it worked just fine.

Sorry for the delayed reply. To transfer text messages from iPhone X to LG wing, maybe you can try phone transfer tool like Coolmuster Mobile Transfer, MobileTrans, Easeus Mobimover, etc. Such tool can help us transfer text messages and other data like contacts, books(pdf&epub),music, videos, photos from iPhone to Android phone. Usually, they are not free. You need to pay for the full version. About the details, please search online. Hope this will be your help.
I just got my Mi 10 t pro after buying it in the singles day sales. I can't for the life of me find the app that I would use to transfer data (contacts, sms, photos at a push). I'm upgrading from an HTC U11. Googling for an answer suggests MiMover which isn't on the Xiaomi and can't be found in the Play store (from UK). ShareMe on the Mi 10 t pro has a "Mi Mover" icon inside it, but when I install Xiaomi ShareMe on the HTC, the MiMover icon isn't there.
Google backup doesn't work for me on the HTC (it shows "waiting to backup" which is possibly because the phone is encrypted).
Exporting my contacts on the HTC gave me a vef file which the Xiaomi doesn't recognise. Exporting my sms gave me an .hbk file which the xiaomi doesn't recognise.
Any clues / pointers would be welcome.
Thanks, PT
Answering my own question here:
The .vef file exported from my HTC is an encrypted vcf file. I was able to re-export this as a vcf and trasfer the file to the Xiaomi separately.
I then used SMS backup and recover to tranfer across sms and call logs.
I'm still shocked that I couldn't find / figure out the Xiaomi app to get this job done.
PT
Google backup does a really good job, most of the time. So there's really no need for a separate app. I don't know why your u11 didn't backup, but encryption isn't it, because 99% of phones today have encryption in system itself...
Sorry for the delayed reply. If you want to back up data on your Android phone to the computer easily, my suggestion is Coolmuster Android Backup Manager. Its free backup function can help us back up data like contacts, text messages, call logs, videos, music, photos, apps, ebooks from your Android phone to the computer via USB cable connecting easily. If you still has such problem, please try it. And hope it will work well on your phone.
