Can't copy files to internal storage after formating to ext4 - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Wanted to try PA rom so decided to format the internal storage back to ext4 from f2fs. The format was successful but when I tried to copy the rom .zip file it proceeds to about 10% then stops. No error message or crash, the progress bar keeps doing the file copying animation but doesn't proceed. Tried several times with different files with the same result. Anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance.

try flash using sideload then factory reset

suddenly lost many files and folders from the phone but phone does uses space for it

Please help me. I have many songs, movies and many imp files and documents in the internal storage and suddenly all is gone. Though it shows that it takes the space. Last night I connected my phone to the pc to copy a kernel modules into my phone. I copied and flash and the phone went into bootloop. Then I flashed the previous kernel I was using-ncx and it booted normally. Then I realized many files are missing but the phone is using the space for those. Then o rebooted and flashed the kernle again thinking that it was a kernel issue. After o rebooted I got everything. Then the whole night everything was normal. When I woke up I saw that the same thing happened aagin after a reboot. I rebooted because sound was my playing. It said unable to play media. It rebooted and sound played but the same files where again missing. The I flashed stock kernel. Still the same. Then downloaded viper Rom 3.3.6 and flashed it with and without full wipe and still the same. Please help anyone. I don't have a backup of these missing files and its very urgent.
What happends when you mount the sdcard as a mass storage device inside the recovery ? That way you go around the rom and see the space and hopefully the files directly ! Then at least we can say its a rom problem and not sdcard problem !

I tried that but it shows the same files and folders that it shows inside the Rom.
When you have your phone mounted to your PC.
Control Panel -> Folder Options -> Select "Show hidden files/folders".
See what that does for you.
Did you try to flash a 4.2 rom? 4.2 rom's usually move your data from /sdcard/ to /sdcard/0/ or something, which might explain why you cant see the data when you flashed your previous rom.
When connected to pc and show hidden files. Nothing happens. I already had viper Rom since it released. After copying files from of pc it happened suddenly. I thought reflashing the Rom would solve but no. The titanium backup folder is also gone. The sd card does uses space so I think the files are recoverable. Please help me to recover them. Please.
I found something. The files are still there in the internal storage but not directly in the sd card. It automatically got moved in to a new folder>>> sdcard/0/
Everything is there. How to solve this issue? Make my phone recognize that folder as internal storage or just make it like before?

Lol that happened to me when I flashed my kernel unrepacked. just move everything back to /sdcard
Sdcard/0 is a file structure that happen when you flash 4.2 roms because of the multi user feature. When you flash other roms make sure you copy all files from sdcard/0 to the root folder before flashing

Help Bricked phone!

I have a LG E-971 and last night I tried removing the root but I farted up and completely formatted the internal storage, now I am completely screwed because I don't have an OS installed, and literally every attempt to unbrick it wont work, I have tried through KDZ, I have tried just installing a stock rom but unless I can get USB storage I cannot transfer a rom to the device. So is their anything else I can do to this?

one that's not brick, you formatted the system partition thus removed the installed OS.
if you still have custom recovery cwm/twrp learn how to use adb push to send the rom.zip
basic syntax is
adb push rom-name.zip /sdcard/
also using kdz to flash the rom is another easy way out, you just need to get the kdz file that is 1GB or less

[Fixed] Soft Bricked SPH-L710

Team,
I have been researching for hours and am quite confused on which avenue to take to recover my soft brick. Information overload:crying:
Here is what happened and I will provide as much info as I can so please bare with me. After OTA upgrading to 4.3 and rooting successfully using the CF Auto Root. I was attempting to get my wifi hotspot working again using the Wifi mod and mucked around and installed the wrong mod (Odexed MK4). This rendered me stuck at the glowing samsung screen and it goes no further. Ive tried to factory reset, wiped cache and rebooted several times. Boots fine into recovery and download mode.
So after hours of searching, reading (its 3:50am est) and testing solutions I am no closer to a fix than I was when I started. I am currently waiting on a stock rooted rom to download in an attempt to flash back to stock but its taking hours to download.
However I just noticed, as I am typing this thread, that I can no longer
1. Mount as an usb external drive in recovery (TWRP v 2.3.1.0) I have Samsung drivers installed (1.5.14.0) so I get the indicator sound from windows that I sees the phone.
2. If I attempt to manually browse through my files using the recovery there are no files inside my internal sdcard directories.
/sdcard There are three directories there
/0 /obb /TWRP and the only folder that has files inside is the TWRP folder.
Im floundering here. I cannot even mount and install files on the phone to even attempt to flash back to stock. Can I get some fresh angles ladies and gents? I am at a loss.

Good morning (not really, I assume, sorry). So where are you at? Not sure what you mean that you cannot install files on the phone... Can you get into download mode and your computer recognizes the phone? If yes, can you do what you started to say - odin stock rooted? Or... if you can get into a custom recovery but your internal sd card has been wiped, can you put a stock rooted ROM in zip format on an external sd card, put that sd card into your phone, and flash in custom recovery?

Here is the problem...the ROM I have is in zip format and based on what I have been reading I cannot install via Odin. Due to the fact that the phone refuses to mount as an external storage device I have no way of placing data on the the internal or external card. The only recourse I have now it to attempt to find an adapter to be able to mount this microsd card to my PC. I am out of town and have no idea where I could find one.....uggggh. Ill keep you posted.

Walmart. .. target. ... and most any office store you should be able to find one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538543 ... This thread gives you the stock unrooted rom in a flashable zip. To my knowledge no one has put out a stock rooted zip, but I will check around.

You always have the Factory Reset/Wipe Data option inside your Recovery. But if that doesnt work use your downoad mode and Reset in KIES. but whatever you do, now that you have upgraded to 4.3 DO NOT try and dowgrade. it will cause a hard brick.
You did the ota update which put KNOX on your phone which is bad especially if you have a warranty. There is currently no way to get rid of it. I read a while ago the peoples phones has been getting bricked because they were trying stuff.
Anyway the only option I guess you have is to use your computer and reset your phone using kies. It will flash your phone back to stock in download mode.

Thanks bro.....Ill download it and give it a try. I have nothing to lose at this point. Ill be back with praise or tears.
Problem resolved I was able to go back to stock using the link posted above by Bigpappa!!!
Thank you all so much for you help!
Congratulations
I am glad you were able to get use of your phone back. I wish I had seen this thread sooner. I was in exactly the same boat a couple of weeks ago, only mine lasted 3 days. I even bought a new GS4 when I thought my phone was dead. Took it back when someone finally helped me do what you did. It's a helpless feeling when you have been rooting and Romming for years safely. Sure seems like a sticky thread is in order for this specific issue. As you can see, I haven't got enough history for credibility on this forum since I rarely post. Oh well.

[Q] FP1 softbrick?!

Hey there,
I have a problem with my fairphone (FP1). I recently used it with the ROM provided by chrmhoffmann (thanks for that!) but as I will use the dual SIM function more intensively in the future I decided to go back to official ROM.
I downloaded and flashed it from my SD card. It started and seemed to work until I reinstalled some of my apps (including Xposed). The phone got stuck in a bootloop afterwards, but I could still do a factory reset and it would work again. Unfortunately I had to do this a couple of times.. Don't remember what happened exactly, but I also flashed it again from my card.
At one point this didn't work any longer. My SD card is not recognized any longer, I cannot install anything. I tried a different card and fat32 but no success.
I therefore tried to sideload with adb but the installation always fails immediately. Somewhere I've read that someone had a similar issue caused by missing executing permissions - but I don|t know how to check that without booting.
Next thing I tried was to flash with the flash tool. I have version 5.1320. If I open the scatter files from the offiial ROM I downloaded from fairphone.com I get an error because it's missing some files. ("Item[1] PRELOADER: File not found" etc.)
It would be great if anybody could help me with this scatter file thing and explain me how to check this permissions thing!

Need to manually wipe phone, ALL files and partitions, copy files from clean phone mo

Hi,
I need to make an exact copy of a clean Nexus 5x motherboard's (mobo) memory. My phone was infected and I have not been able to get it clean. I know that there are many other file areas besides those copied in TWRP. I have used adb pull and push to copy /dev/block (All mmcblk0XX into mmcblk0XX.imgh files) from the clean phone mobo, and pushed them to the old infected one (mmcblk0 is supposed to be the wholeflash). It copied but it doesn't appear anything has changed. There was a bootup password on the old phone (mobo) but copying those files did not remove it. I then flashed all partitions in the google firmware download and it booted up like a clean new phone, but later went back to the password at bootup. I have had something like this happen a few times. I flash new firmware and somehow the old infected files are still there.
How can I REALLY wipe this phone (manually EVERY file from root / ) and copy over all the clean data from the new phone motherboard? I suspect that the infecter changed my bootloader and is making it persistent somehow. I have used TWRP and copied over the partitions many times. Not good enough.
Thank you.
The bootloader version is still an old one even though I have updated the firmware many times. it is BHZ10i and current one is BHZ11e!
I'M here just because of random, but maybe this unbrick method could help to fully reflash the phone?
