I would like to root my SPH-L520 so I can flash it to Boost Mobile as a replacement for my long-in-the-tooth TP2. To do this, I followed a guide I found on andromods.com entitled "How to root Sprint Galaxy S4 mini (SPH-L520) running latest software version from OTA" (sorry, I don't have the permissions needed to post the link). My first step was to establish a USB connection between my SPH-L520 and my PC (Windows 7). You use Kies for that, right? Well, Kies would recognize that there was a SPH-L520 connected, but it wouldn't actually connect to it. It just kept saying “connecting” for half an hour. So I shot-off a support request to Samsung asking for the appropriate drivers for my phone (none are listed on the webpage for the device) and Samsung said there aren't any drivers for the SPH-L520. Kies does connect my SPH-L520 and my PC via WiFi, though, so I thought I’d try to go ahead and run the Kingo rooting program. So I enabled Developer Mode (by tapping on “Build Number” several times) and enabled USB Debugging and ran Kingo. Kingo connected but saw my Samsung device as being in “Normal Mode” (I’m guessing it should have said “Developer Mode”?). I went ahead and clicked on the "ROOT" button and my phone failed to root. I tried it several times and it failed every time. Phone stats are below. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Model number: SPH-L520
Android version: 4.2.2
Baseband version: L520VPUAMK2
Kernel version: 3.4.0-2054908
Build number: JDQ39.L520VPUAMK2

Any suggestions out there on how I can root my SPH-L520?

I have the s4 mini lte for sprint and rooted the phone with Kingo and didn't have any problems at all. However, I can't find ANY custom roms that are compatible with it due to the phone being fairly new. So yea, I've been impatiently waiting for a custom rom to download. If anyone knows where I can find one that doesn't have a ton of bugs, please let me know. Thanks

How did you connect your phone to your computer so you could run Kingo? Did you use Kies or another program? For me, the Kingo program may work fine, but I won't know until I can get Kies to connect.

It finally rooted on the umpteenth try. I believe I disconnected/closed Kies and then ran Kingo and it worked. Now to find a good, easy way to flash it to Boost. Any advice on that would be appreciated.

I'd also be really interested in this as well. Well flashing it too anything. I've been searching for HOURS. and have tried to get the MSL with no luck in any shape or form.
Forgive me for asking this question but I can't find a way to root this. Yes, I tried searching but it can't seem to find anything about this particular model.
It's the LTE version of the Tab 3 7.0 if anyone is wondering.
Thanks in advance.
I tried using http://www.kingoapp.com/ to root my SM-T215 and for some reason it did not work for me. Others have tried and had success.
Have you tried that yet? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2473747
SM-T215 Rooting
Am a noob and still learning but if u would like to try my method,i be happy that i could help u.No flashing of roms as my only intention of rooting is to get rid of those unwanted apps and boosting the speed/battery life.
SM-T215 Tab 3 7.0 LTE (8GB)
Rooting: Only Kingoapp works. (Provide root with supersu but no custom recovery)
Custom Recovery for backup/restore: Only TWRP (SM-T217S) flash through ODIN works.CWM gets bootloops.
No custom roms are found compatible/stable for the T215 so far but xPosed framework is an option.

tried kingoapp, framaroot, zroot, and afew more but still cant get my tab to be rooted.
just bought this tab 3 7.0 SM T215 to replace my outdated modded galaxy apollo cm7 alpha 9 with the hope that i can explore more on modded roms on a better handset.
if only there is ROOTING for sm-t215 at the least..
8GB filled with bloatware is making my device suffocating and annoying.
sigh ~

Flash or install universal root. If that does not work install vroot sure that this will have rooted your phone. You can then uninstall remplasarla by SuperSU smoothly and the other

All right.
1. Install this apk. https://mega.co.nz/#!bQwAlJiT!H04MbX-_Hp0o2sYo7RCaFG904_x_2sxLW0rTTsZlLSM
2. Before running the application, you must tick the boxes, usb debugging, allow mock locations, all in development options, and be connected to the internet.
3.-That done, you open the application, and click where it says open das, root, now there waiting to do their work, if all goes well, your phone will reboot.
4.-If you ever leave a message with Chinese letters before or after you restart your phone, give right click option. Always be on that, that is to give super user permissions.
5. as either root, replace the Chinese application SuperSU, qui this. https://mega.co.nz/#!CVx1BLSQ!g1lLufWuy7GzqxuEgYK2MSHFrqS6UGvelfvD24V_aFs
still not working
i tried that and doesn't work. installed the apk click root but still
How I root my SM-T215 (Singapore) at 4.2.2
Excuse me for being a Noob...
To enable USB Debugging is the same as Note 3. Tap on About Phone and the Baseband 7 times (I Think) as almost weeks ago when I tried.
Enable USB Debugging (tick) and all in this paragraph first before trying this website (namely Allow Mock Locations, etc) :
www . mgyun. com / vfroot
Download (立即下载) and Install the software into Desktop.
Need not turn off Tab 3, just connect and wait for the software to detect.
Then it will do its work to root it.
Tab 3 will reboot at least once, and when asked for ADB access, authorize it.
I managed to root my SM-T215 via this method without any knowledge of any programming knowledge.
I hope this helps. Have not checked on Knox yet but glad that I can remove some apps which slows down the Tab 3 LTE
does not work on my SM-T215.
Any other option for rooting SM T215.
Tried various root versions - none works.
www.mgyun.com download the root application and install it in ur pc, once u've launch the app and connect ur device, the app will automatically detect the model of ur device. just click on root.. once rooted, uninstall the chinese version of superuser but TAKE NOTE you need to keep the kinguser tool in your device or else no rooted is being done. once everything is installed, user rootchecker to double confirm that ur device has been rooted. it is not a full root, but it'll do for now. good luck

samsung has finally released kitkat firmware for SM-T215, the update had factory resetted my device to stock. before i proceed with your www .mgyun. com / vfroot method, will your method still work? (just to be safe)

Sorry for this late reply.
When I had rooted T215, my priority is remove bloatware which includes Software updates. Knowing that Tab 3 hardware will be stretched, I don't want any updates as it will make Tab 3 sluggish.
Thus I am still at 4.2.2. and staying it this way for now.
I am not at 4.4.2+ , so it is still strong with the root.

i've forgotten how i rooted my sm-t215 kitkat. If i'm not wrong, you only need to install/flash only the CWM recovery into your phone, and once you've successfully install/flash CWM recovery, go into recovery and choose reboot now. there will be an option for you to install superuser. choose that and your phone will be auto rooted.
here is the link.

do it at your own risk, i won't be responsible for anything in case something goes wrong as this only based on my memory.
GOOD LUCK
how could i enable lte option
even it is 4glte .this particular option is missing in network mode
Hi guys,
I've made the contribution to Skipsoft, downloaded the Unifed Android Toolkit, and attempted to use it to root my Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet, only to find that the toolkit only supports up to 4.2.2, not the 4.4.2 currently on my device. Can someone tell me when this package will be updated to support the later version? I'm posting here because I can't post in the pertinent Dev forum. Geez, what a disappointment!
Thanks.

Saferoot is the only way to go with Note 8.0 using 4.1.2 or 4.2.2... once you run it, the only thing that wont work is Samsung Book Hub. You can get book hub to function using RootCloak and Substrate. They run in background and do not interfere with Framework or any other app add-ons..

If you are looking to simply root the tablet, CF-Auto-Root is your best bet. I just tried it on my Note 8.0 stock 4.4.2 and it worked great.

I tried the CF Auto-root; it fails to root, so I can't install the newer supersu; I get the message that supersu stopped, and need to update it. Unfortunately, supersu requires root to update, so I have a catch-22. I'm stuck; can't achieve root with either the UAT or CF-Auto-root. Getting very fed up with Samsung's constant nagging about logging in to their lousy services, nor am I pleased with their privacy policy. All I want to do is get Titanium backup installed so I don't have to worry about Samsung digging through my personal information.
Thanks,
DDoutel

Hello,
I've got a Galaxy A52017 (SM-A520F) with Android 8.0. Now I want to put Lineage 16 on this device. I know how to do it, however I don't know how to put TWRP on the phone and how to root it. I've got Manjaro 19, so i cannot use odin. Can you help me?
You can use heimdall I guess, but that is not as "safe" as Odin.
I would always prefer to use odin.

Hello everyone, I would like to know if in my A5 2017 oreo version, it is possible to root with cf auto root, if it is not possible, you can list some methods (even Odin) without installing the twrp or any other recovery.
Thanks in advance (sorry for my english but I'm italian).
Hi everyone I am new here I want to root my Samsung galaxy A5 2017 ,I have some doubts regarding rooting phone.my question is ,is it necessary to flash Rmm State Bypass and no verity opt encrypt 6.0 after installing TWRP ?or can I directly flash magisk manager by skipping those two zip files? Because I watched so many videos on YouTube as they didn't flashed those two zip files so I am not sure to flash or not.
