I don't think so. It's solved upto a great extent. Both while charging and using camera.
I shot video for about 8 minutes and it got warm a bit which is normal with metal phones.

4K doesn't have any stabilization. So, I don't think videos should be shot in 4K on this phone. [emoji6]
And yes, 4K makes phone a bit more warm. Improvement can be done.

My 16GB is almost full, and the culprit is mostly GameLoft gamedata.
I definitely want at least 64GB internal in my next phone, + 128G external, and 1080p flexible samoled+, wireless hdmi, ~5", 12MP, ... better stop myself here.

1080p comes in handy when you connect your phone via MHL-HDMI cable to a 1080p display. Currently, WhatYouSeeIsWhatYouGet, which means 720p upscaled to 1080p. Also, if you've got eagle eyes, the S3's 320dpi still isn't good enough.
In any case, 1080p displays are coming, along with GPUs efficient enough to drive 'em. At some point we'll have to make a disconnect between the phone's display resolution and it's output resolution (when 4K and 8K TVs become more common in a few years).

You have eagle eyes? It depends how far you hold it from your eyes as well. There will most likely be no difference - except for people that like to think they see the huge difference while they are staring like -
I know 1080p is coming. There is lots of things in the world that are unnecessary so I didnt doubt it for a second.
zmore said:
My eagle eyes comment wasn't the main point, but thanks for choosing that for your subtle diss launching pad.
Both you and I would be able to tell the difference, and not just "like to think" we would. At 1ft the human eye starts reaching its limit of seeing individual pixels @ greater than around 300dpi. I often hold my phone 6 to 8 inches away and can easily see jaggies, so, until we've actually reached the physical limits of our eye, moar dpi == moar betteh. Kthxbai.

Not sure where you interpreted a diss launching pad from.
There are many web sites discussing this topic. I dont need to get into the specifics (especially since this is partly my field of work).
1080p on screens this size is pointless.
I am now asking you nicely to stop posting in my topic. If not, I will report to moderators.
Thank you.
zmore said:
400+DPI may be pointless for MANY people, but definitely not everyone, including the millions of us with exceptionally good eyesight (20/15 or 20/10). For those with regular 20/20 vision, they'll get the better display anyway, and primarily take advantage of it when it's natively output to a matching 1080p display instead of upscaling from 720p (which was my main point previously).
AND NOW I SAY GOOD DAY TO YOU SIR!

My point was 1080p is pointless for the SMARTPHONE's screen. Obviously not for a 1080p external display (which still has its stipulations - depending how far you are sitting, etc).
Regardless, I have reported you.

They don't seem to advertise that aspect of it.
When you start recording in 4k, notice that it tells you how much time remains, and it says five minutes. At the end of five minutes, it stops recording.

It's not like any movie films scenes longer then five mins at a time. Film for a couple mins, then end scene and start again. I have never scene Hollywood roll camera for more then a couple minutes at a time. The only down side would be people who blog or do extended reviews but to be honest your better off at 1080p for stuff like that.

I don't think it'd be hard to chop a vlog into five-minute segments.
But I'll often be in a scenic situation where I want to record video with the camera unattended for half an hour and then edit it down to the interesting parts. With 4k video on the Note 4, that's not possible.

What would be the reason they made it limited to 5 minutes? Also when I do video I Stop each clip so nothing is longer than 3 minutes. Unless i'm doing something else that requires a constant video stream then i guess it wouldn't work.

No, it's exFAT. It's got videos of more than 2 GB. And if it were a file-size limit, the phone should just shoot until the limit is reached, rather than forcing the video to stop at 5 minutes (which turns out to be around 1.7 GB).

yes it will, but its not going to be as good as the nexus 6p ambient display because it will light up the whole screen isntead of the individual pixels, and thats the main reason im going with the 6p

Oh no, that doesn't sound promising. But the Moto X is using 2k for the screen, not 1080 so that could be a factor for average battery? I think the 5x will be fine with ambient because doze and app standby

I'm pretty sure the 2k screen or quad hd screen is what's killing the battery much faster than it should. I'm also seeing a lot of people reporting their 2nd most used is the phone's radios. Myself and a bunch of other people report that it shows 5%-10% "phone without signal" which is weird because my old phone never had these problems, Maybe there will be a software update soon but I think I'd rather stick with a much smaller 5x which is easier using it one handed
i would take ambient display even if i had to sacrifice some battery
I just hope it works better than the Nexus 6. Coming from a 2014 Moto X, it's hard to stomach the way it works on the Nexus 6.

6P has EIS, smart burst, slo-mo at 240fps. Idk what else it can do but I think ambient display is the same since both have Android Hub
Sent from my Nexus 5
Ambient display is the same on both
The only way the ambient display will differ between the two is 5x=LCD and 6p=Amoled. Amoled screens only light up the pixels needed whereas an LCD lights up even black pixels (since the whole panel is backlit ) so theoretically the 6p ambient display should use slightly less battery than the ambient on the 5x

The Moto X Pure has a 5.7" QHD IPS LCD and only a 3,000mAh battery so I'm not sure what you were expecting. Putting a 3,000mAh battery in a phone with a screen like that and expecting good battery life is like putting a 10 gallon gas tank in a heavy duty V8 truck and expecting to get 350+ miles on a single tank.
Has anyone else noticed this tablet has a God awful amount of motion blur? Even pulling down the notification bar you can see it but its mostly noticeable when playing 60FPS content on YouTube
Its sooo bad!! And now I've seen it I can't unsee it.
I have had a tablet that hasn't had it to be honest.
But I will say the temperature of the device (screen to be exact) that plays a role in it too. The colder your screen is the more dramatic the effect.

Is the high temperature during prolonged camera use because of the smart/high brightness which sets the screen brightness to the max?
42 isn't a alarming temperature. If it is a persistent rise, then it is matter of concern.
Otherwise, the device cools down rapidly once we stop using camera.

but i did feel some heat when i was playing Mobile Legends. but the phone didn't lag though during game play, my touch/ accuracy went a bit haywire -- not sure if the heat affected the touch/ sensors... anyway, it could down quite fast after i finished my gaming session.

for those "capture" the moment... and not going to edit... i feel 4K is still not necessary. i don't even have any device that can view 4K in its full glory. so, for me, 1080p is more than good enough since i don't have any plans to edit those videos.
but ya, figured 4K would cause heat... which is why i put a "disclaimer" that i was recording only in 720p... hahaha...
