Just curious if anyone tried a 256 Gb microSD card.
Some pages show in the specs microsd up to 256 Gb.
e.g. http://www.gsmarena.com/lenovo_p2-8319.php
I know, I know, it may be the 64Gb internal memory model...
It's been a while but I still want to write for those who wonder. I'm using Lenovo P2 and it supports 256 gb sd card. I hope it helps someone.

I partitioned my 8gb card before so I could use apsd and I don't use it anymore so I formatted my card and it still only tells me there's 6700 mb available.. I know some of the card will be taken up with software to make the card work but I didn't think it would be a gig.. did I format the card wrong?
if not the whole reason, most of the reason is that when the manufacturer makes their claim of 8GB, they are using the formula of 1000B being 1KB, 1000KB being 1MB, 1000MB being 1 GB, then when systems read the card, 1024B is 1KB, 1024KB is 1MB, 1024MB is 1GB...
so if the card is 8000000 Bytes claimed by the manuf. then 8000000/1024/1024 should be 7.6 gigs
my 8gig card shows 7.39 in my phone, so maybe the OS reserved 200MB for something?

If you partitioned your SD card for a2sd reformatting won't give you back the whole card. You need to repartition and select 0 for swap, 0 for ext and 'the rest' for FAT. That will repartition it into something your phone (and Windows/Mac/etc) can see and give you back the full available space.
I have been reading that partitioning your SD card before installing roms is good idea. I have a 32 gb card and was thinking of partitioning using ROM manager. What is the ideal space for partitioning and ideal swap space?
i have the same size card in my evo and i use a 1 gig swap partition ...and it seems to like it also ....u can try that or try it like this
1. fat32 remaning space on card
2. ext2/3-1 gig partition
3. linux-swap -100mb partiton
What about the partition size? Also will partitioning erase my SD card?

Here is a guide.
Plus I would not use CWM. Use Amon RA.
And yes this will wipe the card. Back up to your pc.
Thanks! I will back it up before I partition it.
SD card class 4

i have a 32 gig class 6 pny card and it works fine i used to have a class 4 and 6 sd 16 gig they just seemed slow but yes i don't see why that wouldn't work,
I've gotten nothing But negative reviews about San disk cards ..personally i wouldn't trust them so try to stay away from those lol and some SD cards pull too much current remember that.make sure u set ur sd card read speed to 4096
and that is a cheap card i am about to go buy up a few and check em out lol hope that helps

I'm using Energy ROM with Anthrax Kernel and it works like a charm.

Well it depends of how hard do you use your phone, I have right now a 64Mb Swap partition but I'm not using it at all....
Does the OGP support exFat ? I hate the 4Gb limit of FAT32. How can I overcome this limit ?

FAT32 supports partitions up to 32 GB. If you notice, out of the box the G Pro comes with a hidden partition and an 23 GB partition as Internal Storage. I have a 32 GB MicroSD card formatted as a single 32 GB FAT32 partition.
You only need ExFAT if you plan on using a 64 GB MicroSD card. Since LG advertises that the G Pro can support up to a 64 GB MicroSD card, then its likely that the stock ROM and kernel do support ExFAT. If for some reason it doesn't, then replacing the ROM with one of the Android 4.4 KitKat ROMs will surely do the trick.

Well, I bit the bullet and formatted my 32Gb sdhc card to exFAT and the OGP can read it flawlessly. I am very pleased with the results because I got rid of the 4Gb file size limit. The only small issue is that cwm recovery can`t read or write exFAT so I have to make backups to my internal memory and then move them to the SD.

How do you format it into exFat?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Well, it`s very easy. I put it in the card reader of the laptop and formatted it in the file manager of windows 7.
So I've spent hours trying to get my Patriot LX 64 GB Class 10 UHS-1 microSD card working and I'm not having any luck at all. I format it with exFAT on Windows and it works great. I install it into my ASUS T700 Android tablet and it works great. Plug it into the Samsung, and it starts locking up and freezing - usually until I take the card out. I tried live chat and they kept telling me I had to format it to FAT 32 in Windows...and I spent an hour telling them you CAN'T format a > 32 GB card with a FAT32 partition in Windows! They just quit talking to me and told me to call Patriot.
I see on their own support page, they tell you to format larger than 32 GB cards with ExFAT so that's what I've been doing - even tried NTFS but that won't even see the card.
Has anyone else tried a Patriot 64 GB microSD card that works?
I also tried a 16 GB FAT 32 card in it - and it works with no problem at all!
So....if it's not the card and it's not the tablet, is it a combination of these two particular brands?
Friends , expandable storage of canvas a1 is 32 gb. If I insert 32 gb card in it , will it run smoothly???

Yeah, my mom's phone is Karbonn Sparkle V (Android One) and it has a 32GB SanDisk Memory Card and it's working fine.
I don't know if you can use that as Internal Storage in Marshmallow (I didn't try that)
