Which ROM are you running?
Isn't this a known issue with 2.2? I think there are fixes for the market floating around.
I'm using droid 2.1

You must mean the stock 2.1 Android ROM. "Droid" is the name Verizon has given to a line of their Android phones.
Have you seen this thread, specifically post #8?
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to submit a post about changing my rom but it keeps saying I can't add outside links although the post does not have any links?
Any ideas?!
Post:
Hi Everyone,
OK first of all I am new to all of this but I have a Desire HD...
Basically the phone is very laggy and a friend has told me to look at installing a new rom as that is the way forward...
So here I am, I have had a good luck around the forum but there seems to be so many different guides...
I am probably going to look at installing:
[ROM] Android Revolution HD 4.0, 3.1 Gingerbread & HTC Sense 2.1 Android 2.3.2 - posted my mike1986...now my first question, is this stable and are there any problems with it?
My desire is:
Android Version: 2.2
Baseband Version: 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Kernal Version: 2.6.32.21-gf3f553d

Build Number: 1.39.161.1 CL278886 release-keys
Software Number: 1.39.161.1
Browser Version: WebKit 3.1
Now is there any major impact at changing the rom?!
Also is there anyway in which I can backup my text messages (most important) and also the installed apps and restore these once the process has been completed.
Thanks in advance!
Johnathon
hi.
Flashing a custom rom is a straight forward thing.
Here is the guide where you need to understand.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964996&highlight=guide
But before you flash, also check out your rom-to-flash thread on pre-requisite too.
There are lots of rom out there, if you like stable release, in my opinion, go for Android Revolution HD 3.2, or LeeDroid, or Core HD which run on Android 2.2 (Froyo)
Major impact : smoother , faster, customizable, etc .. (tried it !)
To backup :
1. SMS backup - install from market. it will back up all sms and send to your gmail.
2. Titanium backup - to backup apps and data (saved games, and everything). after flash new rom, you need to install back all your apps. restore from titanium backup is the easiest part.
However, I would recommend only restoring selective apps. That too "Data Only" option.
Found out the hard way that a full restore can have some adverse effect (For me heavy battery drain).
Why start two new threads with the exact same post?
Thanks for the replies guy's however I am still a little confused...just want to clear one thing up if you don't mind.
When I go to the guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964996&highlight=guide
Do I do it in this order:
1. Complete the works.
2. Flash the recommended radio.
3. Flash my rom - with which instructions, the one in the post above or the ones attached to the rom? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984045
4. Job complete, big sigh of relief?!
Also as I am looking to upgrade to gingerbread, the rom above looks to be stable from what I have read, will I then be able to easily change the rom in the future to either newer or older versions of android os?!
I know people go on about the radio s and eng-s I think it is and saying they need to be turned off but after a certain version they aren't...will the custom rom's keep them turned off?!
Thanks for all of your help.
Johnathon
I have rooted my HTC One XT (S720t) to be at least allowed to do something with my device. China Mobile delivers the device totally locked up and hardly allows any useful software. Successfully installed Google market app but the ROM seems to have a feature to make sure it cannot be used (always crashed right after opening, others have also reported the same).
Unfortunately my company is bound to China Mobile so I was unable to buy a standard S720e if I want to enjoy 3G.
Rooting and and installing custom ROM was quite smooth and easy but it seems that the flashing the Android Revolution HD ROM has messed up my radio stack/baseband (at least within Android; bootloader still states the old correct radio stack).
I never had problems with the radio stack so I am quite new to this topic and have the following questions:
1. Do I have a problem or not?
2. I made a backup before flashing, will this also bring the radio stack back to normal? If yes, could I extract it from the backup and flash it manually via fastboot (device is rooted but S-ON)?
3. If 1 is not possible, can I flash the backup and then somehow dump the radio stack image?
4. Does anyone know where to get the shipped ROM for this device? S720t seems to be a very rare device and I cannot find anything. Have asked HTC but not sure if they will provide it to me to fix my device.
5. Does anyone know how to get this rubbbish China Mobile parallel market out of this phone and run the standard market (that would be already enough for me - I need Skype for my work). Full control for sure is always nicer.
Thanks for any comments...

Thanks Kluvj, was unaware of that website. As this website probably has more users I also might find some answers here by understanding the background better - that is easier than in Chinese. But I will definitely check it out...

Thanks, could you let me know why it will not work? Are the devices physically so different?
Have installed the ROM and everything looks fine besides the radio stack under Android stated as unknown. Bootloader states still the China Mobile radio stack (any idea how to backup this one so that I can flash back in case it is messed up?).
<Update>: Everything on the device works normally (also Wifi) BUT mobile is completely dead. After using recovery the old system is back but baseband still unknown and mobile network dead. So got myself a tablet for couch surfing now...

Finally managed to find the stock ROM, use the way described in the forum to get back to stock ROM and now everything is working again. Thanks, guys.
Main problem is, that the stock ROM phone is completely useless without apps. None of the apps that I have on my other phone are featured in the Chinese parallel market. No airline apps, no newsreaders, nothing. Just useless cute games and some standard apps and even the market application is in Chinese only.
A mighty phone - and nothing to do with it except listening to music, playing games and chatting. I am wondering how HTC can allow totally crippled phones like the S720t to be marketed. Crippled and no option to break out of the jail. Phone will go back to the shop tomorrow, even my Incredible S beats the S720t easily. This phone is a living brick.
i do have the same problem, could you help me, where you found stock kernel?
Sorry for the late reply, have been travelling...
I have downloaded a ROM from some Chinese filehosting websites (had to register first) and then got the file. Did a google check and cannot find my orginal DL-link anymore. Try to look for variations of ROM_ENDEAVOR_TD_ICS_40_HTCCN_CHS_CMCC_1.zip Can also upload the file somewhere; PM me how and then the phone can be brought back to original status again (check the stickies).
So far found no way to flash custom ROM (did not check for some weeks now). Easy solution to have access to software at least is to unlock the device and install the google app set manually, that will bring up the google market and that already made me happy.

I am in the same boat, i found this : http://bbs.gfan.com/mobile/android-4912638-1-1.html?extra=page%3D1%26amp%3Bfilter%3Dtype%26amp%3Btypeid%3D483
I initially tried to flash ARHD but it would not boot (bad boot.img i think), the ROM above works fine for now.
It is rooted and has Google Play.
If you flashed a wrong boot.img, that rom as the correct boot.img in the zip so you can extract and flash it.
Only downside is that it is slightly older (android 4.0.4, sense 4.0).
I will look for updates later as i just got the phone yesterday i haven't had time to properly look around.

Oh, thanks. That is actually the first custom ROM that I have seen.
Can you confirm that the radio stack is working/compatible?
I have Google Play installed now, just need to download the package and unzip it locally - but I would like to get rid off all this China Mobile rubbish and especially of their own app shop because it interferes with Google Play.
Might try that version later by myself (btw my original phone only came with Android 4.04. and Sense 4.0).

Yes all works fine and all the chinese crap is not there. only a Chinese webbrowser, but you can remove it and install what you want.
just before I installed the Rom I had the OTA which updates sense and the os, ARHD also has the updated software, but hopefully the guy will update the Rom soon .

This I understand but can't we just flash it with a different ROM from a different carrier? say UK ROM?
didnt he say he is running ARHD in the OP?
i didn't know this was released in china
is it confusing with all these different naming and devices for china?

Yes but he mentioned there was a problem with the radio stack/baseband therefore couldn't use his mobile.
From what I understand, the hardware for HTC One X and HTC One XT are pretty much the same. The only difference is the custom OS from each carrier.
So my question is, can I install any 1 of the custom ROMs from here for the One X on the One XT?
Any help would be great.
I think the HTC One XT uses another kind of mobile technology like SCDMA. Therefore, most ROMs here would work, but mobile wouldn't.

From what I understand, SCDMA is the Chinese variant of CDMA, and only works on China Mobile. You would have no luck trying to find a ROM here that supports SCDMA so try going on xda.cn

Currently in the process of download the ROM from the above link, which seems catered to the HTC XT model. I'll report back later.
Can anyone help with the answers to these questions? I have searched but not found the answers.
1. There doesn't appear to be a changelog for the 29/09 gapps. What's different from the 26/07 version?
2. If I've already flashed the 26/07 version then can I just flash 29/09 over the top?
3. Won't the Play store just automatically update the apps to the latest anyway?
Thanks for reading...

Desire HD, Jellytime 17.1, Synergye's KangBang-Kernel v0.2. Stable, no black screens, no random reboots. Lovely.
1 The difference is simply that have been updated and optimized with the latest version of Android
2 Yes, there is no problem, new gapps will overwrite the old apps
3 Play store notifies you when updates are available, you can do them manually or automatically
I'm frustrated and overwhelmed about how to go about rooting my brand new Galaxy Tab S2. I don't know which correct files to download and which method of rooting to use. Heh, don't worry we've all been there.
First thing though is that this is the wrong forum for your device, this is for the original Tab S and not the more recent Tab S2 which you have. Although I suspect the process will be very similar (Odin, etc) it's always best to get the info for your exact model.
So with that in mind, here's where you want to go: Tab S2 forums
And even more specifically, here's a great thread for you to read and which should answer all your questions: [GUIDE][HOW-TO] Root Tab S2 and more
Of course, please be aware of things like warranty coverage and such being affected after rooting.
Btw, if/after you do root check out "Adaway" (just google for the apk), it's probably my main reason for rooting my devices (with xposed a close second).
Best of luck!
as the man said up here but i would ad: let your tablet update to marshmallow 6 first and then read about how to install TWRP with ODIN and the new supersu for mm6 and how to root touchwiz MM6.
There are some new TWRP and supersu coming out on these days. But your tablet is too new to have a custom Rom, so let it update to MM6 first. Sorry to say but titanium is useless with MM6 since your apps AND settings are all reinstalled from the google server. It's a new feature of MM6. I know I've bought Titanium 3 weeks ago and now it's useless to me. One thing that I'm worried about is that if you root your tablet before you get MM6, and you trip knox you might not get the update from samsung. You should get MM6 soon. Don't forget to do a back up if you want to practice with your 5.0.2. Have fun.
update : some of the sources confirmed that Samsung will be introducing the update for the Tab S2 in the month of February next year 2016 source: www.pc-tablet.com/2015/10/09/7477/s...marshmallow-software-update-release-date.html
