Tomorrow i will sent my Phone to lg service cause double tap to wake doesn't work well. It's a known bug. I have unlocked bl and custom rom nougat. I have to install v20g cause it's the latest German Firmware. Here is my Plan:
1. Backup all my data to pc and cloud
2. Remove sd card and sim.
3. put sim in my backup phone (g2)
4. flash kessaras mm bootloader and modem via twrp
5. restore a twrp 20p backup
6. flash v20g via lgup
7. relock bootloader as this manual show (post 1)

If they replace the mother board then no. Will have same iemi but diffrent oem id and diffrent unlock.bin u will have to update with lg the new id
So i can follow the Instruction to unlock bl once more and receive a new unlock.bin?
But why they should replace the Motherboard cause of a double tap issue?

Hello,
yes, it works. (I did it, as many others I guess! )
You will just need somme patience after your first email to LG, then after some days, you just do the normal procedure and it will work !:good:

You can lock your device by flashing the misc partition only! This works on every firmware. Best is you have a backup by TWRP ( latest TWRP can save lock/unlock state) or by the DLM backup (which I would do before sending the device back).
Do you expect they will investigate that issue and then release a software or even hardware fix?
..serious.. Do you REALLY think they will do a single thing regarding our 2015 phone about an unimportant feature which works but not always? I mean the best which would happen is that they exchange the mainboard and yes this has nothing to do with the d2w issue. It's just the only thing they will do now if they do anything!
Yes you can unlock again officially but it may not work directly over the website after mainboard got replaced (of they would do) but you can contact LG support by mail and they will help you out then.

I'm sorry. I'm a noob and trying my best, but am confused. I unlocked bootloader, flashed TWRP and then SuperSU. I'm able to root my phone, but whenever I go into TWRP, it says the phone is encrypted. I understand that without it the radio won't work. Is there a way around that? I keep people talking about s-off. If I use Sunshine to s-off, will it decrypt my phone and allow the radio to work???
When you go into TWRP just press "cancel" at that screen.

And no S-Offing won't decrypt the Data partition. You can use TWRP to format/decrypt it but why?

What version is twrp are you using? As of 3.0.2-4, twrp was able to decrypt data. You probably have to format data in twrp for this to work, however, but you should really read through the twrp thread under the roms section, as I'm not 100% on this. But if you're not on at least -4, and preferably -5, then that's likely your issue.
If you're on the latest twrp, do you have a startup pin enabled? If so, that's what twrp is looking for.
Anyway, the latest twrp works 100% with decrypting data both with and without startup pin. If you do use startup pin, twrp will accept the same pin you use to start your device.
The thing where twrp always asks for a pin and you just press cancel should no longer be the case on new setups.
Just FYI, formatting data in twrp will wipe everything off of you internal storage, including user data (pictures, etc)

Thank you so much! I was using an older version of TWRP ---not the most recent. I repeated the steps using the newest one, and everything is working as it should! I have another question. I had an LG G5 before this pone, and the Note 5 before that. Whenever I wanted to take those previous phones to stock, I'd flash firmware with either odin or LGUP. How do I go about tacking the HTC 10 back to stock??

See post #2 here:

RUU (Rom Update Utility) will get you back to stock (and wipe your internal storage too, so make sure to back everything up first. It won't touch your external SD Card).
There are two formats and both do exactly the same thing.
EXE - runs on windows, so it's dependent on your windows drivers working properly. It will just run through some screens and flash the stock rom and firmware. If this works, it's easier than Odin as there are really no options. You just have to next through several screens. Common problems with RUU.exe's are windows driver issues, antivirus blocking key install files, incomplete downloads, and no access to a windows computer (linux and mac people).
ZIP - more reliable than exe in my opinion. You can use fastboot to flash it in download mode, but there is another method that is easier, especially for people not too familiar with fastboot.
Here is that method:
Download the RUU zip file from the second post at the above link.
rename the zip file to "2PS6IMG.zip" (without quotes)
Place this zip file on the root of your EXTERNAL SD card
Reboot to download mode
In the yellow text at the bottom of the screen, download mode will notify you that it found a 2PS6IMG file on your sdcard and ask if you want to press VOL+ to flash it or VOL- to cancel.
Obviously press VOL+ and it will do the rest
Download mode should restart once or twice and when the flash is complete, it will tell you to press the power button to shut down the device (I have no idea why it forces this shutdown, but obviously, once the device has been shutdown, just hold the power button down to start it back up

If you got it from Telcel México then you should have MID: 2PS650000, you can check it also in the back of the phone (there it would show two less zeroes but the correct MID is 2PS650000)
I have one from Telcel, I unlocked the bootloader via HTC Dev, S-Off via Sunshine, changed the CID to BS_US001 (didn't change the MID as is the same as the US unlocked version) and flashed the RUU exe 1.80.617.1
Now I have a US unlocked version without all the bloatware from Telcel, also as a plus I was able to SIM unlock the device as the Telcel ROM is hardlocked and doesn't let you enter a SIM unlock code (didn't show a prompt to input the code when I entered another SIM from a different carrier), flashing the US unlocked RUU did the trick as the prompt for entering the SIM unlock code appeared right away when I inserted my AT&T SIM.
I'm pretty happy with the phone right now without the Telcel stuff, the only thing I'm worried Is not having a backup of the original recovery to return it to stock for warranty, hope it doesn't fail soon lol.

Yes, full 4G LTE signal with both Telcel and AT&T, actually is the same hardware and bands AFAIK, you should have no issues with data speed.
hi.
1.
propably it's too late now to ask this and search box doesn't really help nowdays since it gives me thousands of results.
when we flash a kdz to update our firmware, modem and bootloader , our bootloader locks again and we need to contact LG to unlock it ?
if yes,
~we can use the same unlock.bin from before or we definately contact LG again ?
2.
is there any other way to update the firmware, modem and bootloader without flashing the whole kdz ?
~maybe if there is any way on linux we can extract the kdz and get the .img files ?
~maybe a tool that gives us a choice what to flash from the kdz like the mtk devices have (the mtk devices don't use kdz, we already have the .img files) ?
flashing genysis rom for example, i saw it was flashing bootloader, modem, etc. Is it possible genysis rom to be able to update our firmware, modem and bootloader ?
And sorry ! Close to 1 and half years or more to ask this question but i really need it to be cleared for me and everyone and i will edit the title later properly if there is a way so that everyone can find it with the search box.

in my case of h811 it stays always unlocked . the best way to upgrade is to do a KDZ. thats a clean installaion. selecting the refurbished option. so it wipes everything.

THANKS @mrmazak !!! You saved my phone! And it did what I have been trying to do, the files you gave link of are Oreo! Thanks!
I have an Honor 7x 4/32. I wanted to try the Oreo, but OTA didn't show up. So i checked the OEM unlocking for just in case, and later on, downloaded & installed Oreo update via Firmware Finder app's DNS guide. Checked the compability and BND-AL10 looked fine even though EMUI said BND-L21C432 since the sticker on back said it is BND-AL10. Besides, I couldnt find L21C432 with 4/32 config. So I thought it was rebranded by the guy I bought from.
After update is installed, and it is performed by EMUI, it rebooted into eRecovery and even if i shut it down, it boots back to it. I am a noob and cannot install TWRP on guides because bootloader is locked.
All solutions I found online includes TWRP and I couldn't find a way to flash twrp.img, i get error like "writing 'recovery'...FAILED (remote: not allowed)"
It is called soft brick I guess. What should I do now?
I am so desperate right now... I tried factory reset and wipe cache, still on eRecovery. Drained the battery and tried again, no change.

Hi to all,
i have a P20 branded (and with bootloader locked), with verey delayed software updates.
I would like to if i could update it using the roms downloaded through Firmware finder, and which is the procedure, since i tried to download the latest update.zip found on FF, unpacked in the dload directory of my phone, rebooted on stock recovery (vol up+vol down + power) and had a generic error.
thanks a lot for your informations.
Packing yourself a 'non-working' dload with extracted update.app from original firmware found on Firmware Finder won't work...
To force an update with a locked bootloader, you could :
-Try to update with FirmwareFinder's DNS, Hisuite 5 and an IMEI-approved OTA-MF ; You'll be updated without any userdata erased.
-Use a working dload firmware for your model and cust to update. Download said dload archive for free from http://androidhost.ru ; Your SDcard or your USB-OTG must be ExFAT formatted for dload update to work !!!
All your userdatas will be erased this way.
-Buy your bootloader's unlock code online from a third-party. Unlock your bootloader. Install a working twrp custom recovery. Use HuRUpdater with any updated firmwares for your model and cust you can find with FirmwareFinder. You'll be updated without any userdata erased.

Only some users are reporting successfull dload downgrades WITH a locked bootloader on SHT and CMR for now. Most fails.

I know this doesn't answer the first part of your question directly but it works the other way. I have installed CN on my EU model. Interesting that there's a few extra settings in the CN such as updating the GPU directly.
I'm on the latest CN firmware V2.26 and the battery is much better but probably due to all the battery saving default settings.

Yes, you can change the payload_properties.txt in the rom of the region you want to flash. Change the text "nx729j_un" or "nx729j_**" for " NUBIA_SUBVERSION to "nx729j". Put the modified rom in the root directory and use local update. You do not have to unlock the bootloader to do this. If this does not work then you have to unlock the bootloader and flash the recovery of the rom in the region you want to change to and use sideload to flash the rom. However the second method might mess up your phone and you might not be able to boot your phone.

In the payload_properties.txt, change the text "nx729j_un" for " NUBIA_SUBVERSION to "nx729j". Put the modified rom in the root directory and use local update. You do not have to unlock the bootloader to do this. If this does not work then you have to unlock the bootloader by go to bootloader and in the command window type
fastboot flashing unlock
Follow the direction to unlock the phone
You need to extract the payload.bin from the CN rom, then use payload dumper or fastboot enhance to extract recovery.img from the payload.bin. Go to bootloader and flash the recovery of the CN rom (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img)
Then reboot to recovery, choose English when you see "Wipe data" type
adb reboot sideload
Once your phone boots into sideload mode (When you see the two error line at the bottom of the screen) type
adb sideload NX729J-update.zip (this is the CN rom you want to flash)
Whether the transfer is successful or not you can wipe the data and reboot the phone. If the transfer is successful you will be in the CN rom, if not you should be back to your own Global rom. The sideload will load the new rom to the other slot so it should not change the current slot.
I'm terms of unlocking the bootloader all I have to do is go into fastboot mode (with OEM unlock, USB debugger selected on the phone of course) and type in the "fastboot flashing unlock" command and whatever next steps I'm supposed to do? Also I have not set fingerprint and or security pin on this phone yet and I've read that people are having issues with them after unlocking bootloader. Is your bootloader unlocked? If so are you having pin/fingerprint issues and if not was there anything you need to do to avoid the issue when unlocking the bootloader? TY!
