It's not good for such a phone not to have QC support, also I don't find any reason for ZUK for not putting the support. I've read in many threads that it's disabled in the kernel and some guy from zukfans tried to enable it and fried their phone. Anyway, I want to know if it is true? Please send proofs supporting your ans.
Can't believe, bcz its such a good phone. And if possible tell me why didn't they.
Regarding " why didn't they " I don't have any clue
But obviously it supports fast changing , btw below is the proof attached
Rom - citrus CAF 3.5
Kernel - heliox , btw most of the custom kernels and ROMs are QC enabled

What's your charger power input rating?
Despite flashing ROM+kernel, only kernel would do the job right? I'm using RR5.8.3 and is that usual battery temperature while charging?

Thats QC2.0 not 3.0.
My phone went upto 1800mA while charging @ 5.3V on lineage OS. I'm back to ZUI 2.5 though, kinda like the camera and snappiness.
That means Z2 is compatible with 10 watt input supply. Maximum voltage reached is 5.3V.
Kernel Developers need to scale up these figures gradually to attain maximum input capability. QC 2.0 has discrete power modes of 5V/2A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.67A. Snapdragon 820 is QC 3 enabled and is also backward compatible with QC 2.0, meaning , CAN'T WE EVEN HAVE FULLY WORKING QC 2??????

Hi All
Sorry for the noob question but I recently switched to perseus kernel and the charging time seems to have doubled! Takes about 6 hrs for a full charge. Changed to Redpill, still took 6 hrs. The changed to stock and it came down to 2.5 hours.
I like perseus but how do I decrease the charging time. 6 hours is killing me!
Install galaxychargingcurrent and check your current with perseus kernel if it shows low value then you can change the current value in stweaks app in power menu
Download link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36124435
Thanks for the reply, but how do I know what is low and what is the optimum? IS there any benchmark for this?

You should have at least 1700mA optimal is 1800mA
If you connect your charger and open the current app you will see the value
Thanks. But its charging at 590 MA. How can I change it to charge faster?

So I tried a Motorola turbo charger which has QC2.0 capability on my HTC one m8.
Got a full charge in 2hrs 10 min.
That sums it up, we don't have the technology enabled to save the battery from deteriorating.
I'm on stock UK Rom.
Cheers.
The question is how fast did it get to 70% from dead, the charger slows down as it gets closer and closer to full.....
Here are some screen shots. Tells you how fast it was charging.
Sounds the same as the stock charger. The phone will only draw as much current as it's made to draw. More powerful chargers won't change that. ?
Yeah, people said it supports qc1.0 but it is not.

HTC has yet to enable quick change 2.0 on stock roms, so unless you install a custom Rom/kernel you won't see any difference over the stock charger. And I'm not even convinced that they don't need a firmware update too.

Update
It seems to work if battery temperature is 35 ℃ or less. I was gaining two percent per minute when battery was cold. Could be just thermal efficiency though.
Good morning guys...
I am really impressed with the new pattern that OnePlus has introduced with the OP3, the DashCharger and its improvements over other patterns, as speed and better heat dissipation.
I do not have my OP3 yet, I live in Brazil and things are a little bit harsh here.. but I bought (imported) one and I am just waiting it to arrive.
I saw in many reviews that DashCharge takes about 1 hour to fill the battery and what I want is: you that already have the OP3 on hands, could give us a feedback about other type of charging
and the time it takes? Can you use a normal 5V1A adapter and another one that implements QC2.0 and post here?
I want that because I have 2 units of QC2.0 charger and with the new OP3 I do not intent to get rid of them if the time to full charge isn't too different and buying the special cable/charger for me (and maybe other)
could not be easy/cheap and maybe it does not compensate!
If no one could do that test, I will perform it myself when I get my OP3... till there, if you could help me, I will appreciate!
Thanks for now and sorry about english!
I have the original charger, but i had a Nexus 6P too, and the 6P used QC 3.0. The OnePlus 3 is charging a bit faster than the 3.0. OnePlus charges 3% in ~3minutes, and the 6P was like that. I think you should charge your phone with the original charger, but in fact you could use QC2 charger i think. Hope i helped (Sorry for bad English)
Thanks for reply,
I would like to know how many time does de OnePlus take to charge from 0 to 100% with Original DashCharger, a QC2.0 and a normal charger... if you could tell in minutes (average)
I have the HTC 10 and the OnePlus 3. The OnePlus 3 is drastically faster than the HTC 10 with Q QC 3.0. I remember walking away frm my OP3 for like 10 minutes, it had charged about 20%. In abut 30 minutes it's at 63% and my HTC 10 is at 44%. My OP3 fullyharges in about 72-74 minutes, my HTC 10 is aound 1 hour, 40 minutes.

QC3.0/3.0 is also much more heavily affected by heat (and as such, using the device), whereas Dash charging is not since heat is dissipated at the charger itself instead of at the phone.
a bit harder to find dash charging accessories though..... at least right now

It doesn't matter, download an app called Ampere and check the intensity, it charges with ~4A for the first ~30 minutes and then lowers down to ~2A.
Conclusion: It charges super fast only first 30 minutes and then it slows down.

I'm very familiar with it. My point is dash/quick charging is purposed for when your phone is near 0 and you're in a hurry, it will get you as much as it can as quick as it can but with lithium ion batteries it's causes too much damage to go all the way to 100%

Well that, and naturally all batteries tend to slow as they charge, not to prevent damage but just the way they work. The reason it's "0-60 in 30 minutes" and not "0-100 in 50 minutes" is that after 60, all modern phone batteries tend to cap off.

yeah , calculate accurate and post it :good:
Mine went from 6% to 62% in 59 minutes today. It reached 100% after about 100 mins. Stock charger and stock cable. You have to look for the double lightning bolt symbol in the battery icon to know that it's charging rapidly. The fast charging only works with the stock charger. I tried charging with my Nexus 6P charger which charges that phone quickly but didn't charge my Honor quickly.
The company has made a claim that it takes 1 hr 50 min to completely charge with their OEM Charger. So I am sure that the QC3 works fine since the battery capacity is also 4000mah. Other phones with 3000-3300mah charge within 1 hr 30mins coz they have substantially lesser capacity.

Next time if you experience slow charging you can try flipping the cable 180 degrees and try. Because that's what I've noted and even @venugopalu007 also experienced similar thing.
I use Ampere from the playstore to test the voltage on all my phones, so I can figure out what connections work best.

I am also noticing the same thing. This is weird.
Mine can definitely go full charge under 2 hours charging from about 10%, BUT only if I don't touch it at all. If I use the phone at all during charging it charges at a literal snail's pace even if I open low power app like an ebook reader. Screen is always set to around 35% brightness, and I'm using stock in the box huawei charger. Ampere gives it a reading of 1060mA then it goes down to 600ish mA and it does display the doublebolt in the battery icon . Is that normal? At times it can charge for 40minutes while I'm using a game app and it barely increased 1%(screen on) While my sister using a micro USB charger on her xiaomi redmi note 4, had no severe slow down on charging times even when playing intensive games while connected to the charger( Same battery size I believe).

yeah true
we all know that one of the benefits of A70 is it's so called "Super Fast Charging"
well...as super fast as the claim, its super fast in dissapointing as well
TTHE PHONE IS CAPPED AT 15 WATTS ONLY !!!!!
as soon as u charge the phone it jups to 32 watts, so, its not the outlet that have the issue which is decent, then u wait a couple of seconds annnnnnnd....its stuck at below 1000ma with 14.4 watts of power
i dont get it, why the heck it doesnt stick to the 25 watts promise ? am i doing something wrong ?
i am using franko kernel app to measure the watts
From what I gather it will only 'fast charge' when the phone is in standby. I.e. The screen is off and phone not being used ....
But I agree it is a poor fast charge.
My honor note 10 which is a 22w super charge on a 5000mah battery charges way faster even with the screen on and phone being used.
Maybe it's Samsung just being cautious with there batteries.... [emoji848]

well my friend, i doubt it, cause i have rooted my A70 and used ACC (advanced charging control) to completely disable the cooldown thingy to fast charge, well, nothing helped, stuck at 14.4 watts for eternity
i mean...assuming your theory IS true, i tried leaving my phone screen off for 15 minutes, then opened it and checked the wattage from the notification...aaaaaand its still 14.4 watts, i mean, if what you say is true i should probably find it at like 25watts and it drops down 2 sec after i open the screen, but it NEVER reaches this 25 watts thingy, and the ampere app is stuck at 1200 max mAh
I think trying to work this out while running a custom kernel is a fool's errand. We have no idea how charging work with custom kernels yet, so you dont know if it's a kernel problem or a hardware problem. Since you dont seem to have tested this prior to switching the kernel, you have no baseline to compare it to other than what other people who are running official firmware are telling you..So not much help then.
I'll say this though, I checked mine with a power meter and not a software readout: 25w screen off, 10ish screen on. That's below 80% charge, anyway, at which point the consumption drops.
I think my A70 charges pretty fast and I'm okay with how fast it is, no matter the watts.
