Hi, I have tried OctOS, is there any reason why you would recommend lineage over it(as in better battery or something else)
Hey ,
Lineage provide u better battery life and honestly I didn't notice much difference in camera quality but if I have to choose one lineage as better camera picture .all above Moto stock camera is best
Hmm, may try later after I flash stock and I don't have any issues with it anymore, the only reason I did custom ROMs with my phone is because RIL will (normally at least) stop working normally and I have to flash again( no wipes needed) to get to work and I don't want to deal with such issues at all.

I was WP/iOS user and recently switched to Android. Just got my OP3, which is my first Android device. I am wondering, which custom ROM should I get. I kinda need more battery life and SOT so I want to ditch the OOS.
Do note that I have literally 0 use for fingerprint scanner, android pay and camera (well, not fully but any mediocre quality camera/pictures will work).
Also, I would appreciate if there is any guide or video tutorial, showing the whole process of custom ROM installation.
I would recommend Cyanogenmod 13.0 with Elemental X kernel.

OOS is a great near-stock rom tbh, but if you still want to try another I'd recommend Sultan's CM
Would recommend you to stay with stock as you may feel all this tweaking thing a bit laggy (coming from iOS , which doesn't let you even customize properly) but for sake of having the taste of tweaking :
Its a 2 part step
1) Unlocking bootloader , installing TWRP , backing up your data (as this will completely wipe out your phone) including whats app (using google drive built-in feature) and messages (using "SMS back up and restore" available in Play Store) . Avoid using links provided in video discriptions

2 ) Installing Custom Rom close to stock with patched Kernal would be better for you to address battery and SOT issue and lot of audio mods , I would suggest freedom OS 1.6 CE ,

I'd say OOS on stock has the best battery. If you want some rock hard stability along with battery, go for ElementalX kernel on OOS. If you dont want OOS so badly, then go for sultanxda s rom.

I've never been interested in securing my phone and thought I would not use the FP scanner but found it is the quickest and easiest way to unlock the phone so I use and love it now. Just a quick press and the phone is ready to go instead of a double-tap + swipe etc. I suggest you get familiar with OOS for a while before you jump.
Resurrection Remix Blackjubel is great
There es elementalx Kernel preinstalled
It's smooth and stable and battery life is also good.
And you have many in build Features so you don't have to install xposed.
@arandomdude, this poll might shed some light on your question: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/help/september-rom-kernel-mega-poll-t3456213.

Just at OOS, just root it, install Xposed and use Amplify and Greenify. It'll boost your SOT a lot. Also don't use Chrome browser. It drains battery a lot.
No one can tell you what the best custom ROM for you is as everyone's preferences vary, my advice stick to stock for now . SOT will improve over the first week of usage and you need to get to know the device / OS before choosing a rom to mitigate any perceived weaknesses. Take your time assessing new roms, as I said SOT will take about a week to stabilise. Above all enjoy yourself it only takes a few minutes to flash a new rom do why not try them all.
New to android?
Then start reading, you have a hell lot of things to learn, don't blindly jump into what random users says is good, laziness will damage your phone and diminish your trust in Android

I know the devs worked hard on it and for some it's a great ROM however for me freedom is dog ****
Never remove the icluded screenprotector. Just dont and avoid reading any news or user experience with screenprotection/ tempered glass. You will regret removing it.
Dont forget to make a backup before changing your rom also backup imei
Till aospa 7.0 is out use aicp nougat rom + latest arm64 7.0 pico gapps from opengapps you can also use ex kernel cm variant for nougat format data/cache to f2fs use viperatmos 5.5 if you use included root change selinux to permissive for viper to work. use nova launcher, neutron music player and buy powerbeats 2 and enjoy.
@Ahmed rahi thanks, i will remember that XD @nadejo so i will keep this screenprotector as u said and thanks for that tip with backup IMEI. About this headphones i will still use my HyperX Cloud but anyway thanks for your advice
I see it hasn't been mentioned yet: no custom ROM achieves the same camera quality as OOS. (there is OOS camera port, but some features don't work well)
That's probably the main reason people (including me) use FreedomOS - it's just debloated OOS, so camera is also the same.
Don't know what's Ahmed rahi's issue with it, but the ROM really isn't any worse or better than stock OOS, just debloated. And I'd say OOS is already a pretty decent ROM ?

I suggest Fullmics, used for >1,5 years. No bloatware, Aroma installer, SuperSU or Magisk, many tweaks, stable, performance and battery are OK. No problems with camera. I don't use LG Smart Settings or Health (not even installed).
The small disadvantage is the necessity of flashing new versions (OTA is only for some subversions). Flashed version 7.5 today:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-fulmics-rom-3-0-tweaks-hub-ota-v30b-t3304556
Remember to use TWRP 3.0.2 to flash (with 3.1.1 it will reboot before flashing)
Tried Resurrection Remix in past but it's overloaded with tweaks and had some problems (mostly with camera).
I suggest to use Zoe ROM. I used some ROMs like Fulmics, Lineage OS and Zoe ROM seems to be the best option for me.

Inspected. I see two problems:
1. ZOE is for more advanced user than Fullmics (more to customize, sometimes too much)
2. For ZOE Stable Release Date is 2016-11-01 and do more developed, but for Fullmics 2017-05-16 and works are ongoing.
I don't claim that Fullmics is the best ROM but worth to be checked for G3.
Hi,
I need your suggestions which ROM to flash to my LG G4 H811.
I flashed LineageOS 14.1 latest build with twrp-3.0.2-0-h811, but I couldn't use any camera apps (I tried google camera, google photo, cameraMX etc, none of them work). I always get "Camera has stopped". I saw someone has similar issue. However, most users with this room can get camera work but with minor issues.
The stock ROM camera works fine, but I really need third-party ROM to get multiple users feature.
Can anyone recommend a ROM that camera at least work (no need to be as good as stock) but with multiple users feature?
For example, stock ROM with multiple user enabled?
Thank you for your advice!
Issue resolved by reflash 20p stock KDZ and then LineageOS 14.1 again. Everything works fine but don't why.
wrong forum
im planning to root the the phone....dont wanna go to 7....wanna see the rom and rooting first with android 6
what is the best option for this phone on 6 ?
To be honest, there is no "good" Marshmallow ROM for this phone.
The stock ROM is a nightmare, regardless of whether you use the Marshmallow or Nougat one.
The "best" ROM in my eyes is the newly released Oreo AEX alpha build posted by Firelord, the only downside it has is that fixing the LED lights on it is a bit of an hassle and that NFC isn't working (yet).
If NFC is important to you, you should go with Firelord's Unofficial LineageOS 14.1 build, that one has working NFC and the LEDs can be fixed the same way as the Oreo build.
The main reason I suggest you to go custom ROM here is because the stock ROM itself has a series of critical bugs that I consider even more severe than the two I just mentioned.
If you are into mobile gaming with a gamepad for example, forget about doing it on the stock ROM, as Lenovo has done something to the framework that makes every kind of HID interface freeze randomly.

thanks for your info....i dont care about NFC or even LED also.....all i want it is a great rom with no battery drain or bugs..working normally and good cpu+ram management... >>> to start fixing the audio problem
Any Suggestion ?
You dont want Marshmallow because of nonce krack buig. Amazes me how open source can break in newer versions.
My paranoia says Gov agencies wanted this bug in the newer Android software.
