no one know!?
[deleted]
That is bull****! Thanks for that information.waiting for google or someone can fix it,i don't want unlock bl yet
[deleted]
If someone does confirm with build.prop changes please post... Hopefully there's something that can be done that may not require unlock bl and root
The answer from google doesn't make sense as the Z5 and Z5C have had reports on reddit of people using Android Pay.

I would be willing to bet it has to do something with the screen. We know Sony is using the official 6.0 API for targeting 4K screens - maybe something in there messes with Android Pay and the upgrade to 6.0 will fix it? I doubt google is white listing devices. And we know custom dpi settings messup Android pay...

Grumble, my first attempt to reply here failed due to forum maintenance that lost the post.
Google is indeed whitelisting devices:
http://developer.android.com/training/safetynet/index.html
SNet will trigger on any rooted device, or when certain modifications to /system are detected (Xposed merely being installed on a device will trip SNet for example). Also, the device attestation data can be sent to a remote server for validation - all evidence indicates that Android Pay uses this as an Xposed module that patches local "failure" results does not fix Android Pay.
HOWEVER: Any device that has passed CTS (and more specifically ANY device that has been approved for Google Mobile Services, aka GMS, aka gapps licensing) should pass SafetyNet checks. SNet fails on the Z5P when it shouldn't. It has nothing to do with international devices as SNet is supposed to be usable by international app developers, it's not a US-only thing.
An unmodified (but bootloader unlocked) Z3 (D6603 specifically, so international unlocked version) does pass SNet checks. However Android Pay is stuch a steaming POS now that even on a device that passes SNet checks it's unreliable/inconvenient as hell. https://plus.google.com/+MattFlaming/posts/N9Gg9HKdmXu - My experiences mirror his except with even MORE pin-checks-on-tap with around a 50% failure rate even after putting in my PIN (AGAIN?) and re-tapping. Which is why I haven't been motivated at all to pitch in and help with the Xposed module that is trying to disable SafetyNet. (It right now only patches the local response, and as I said above, that fails with Pay. For it to work, it needs to fake attestation data, and doing that on a device that's triggering false positives on "modification" when running stock is... problematic.)
The Z5P doesn't pass CTS:

Edit: I wrote Sony support (and made a stink on Reddit) but hopefully it's just a human error somewhere if the Z5/Z5C both pass.
My hope is that Marshmallow will clear this up and that's probably what Sony is waiting for as well. Other than that, this phone is [email protected] one of the best I have used in some time and I have had all the new Samsung garbage from this year as well as the Axon, OnePlus Two, etc. Sony makes great phones and it sucks that they market so poorly in the States. I mean if you have a PS4, why would you consider another phone? oh wait, that's right... because no carrier sales them...

There's no way this would've been allowed to ship with GMS if CTS had never passed.
Also your screenshot doesn't prove that the device doesn't pass CTS, just that SafetyNet is tripping. To prove it doesn't pass CTS, you'd actually have to RUN the CTS suite.
It's a ****up on Google's part - there have been numerous cases of known-confirmed CTS-passing devices that fail SafetyNet checks.
Funny thing is, it's done for security reasons, but security update releases are frequently the most likely to fail SafetyNet. (See CyanogenOS Stagefright updates for the OnePlus One - As much as I dislike Cyngn, I know they don't ship non-CTS-certified releases on production CyanogenOS devices.)

My request was forwarded internally if that's any consolation.
Strange issue this, bad QA? or what?

There are other cases of SafetyNet false-positiving... Such as all Stagefright security updates for the OnePlus One.
It's bad QA on Google's part.

Hi, a few days ago I manually checked for updates on my Galaxy A7 2017 and found a new update was available. I updated immediately, since it was the first update I received in a long time, and was excited with the new features this update was supposed to bring. (Selfie Focus, mask effects, etc.), but none of these appeared as an option, I'm able to download mask filters, but when I try to use them, nothing happens.
My device jumped from October 2017 security revision to February 2018, so that maybe has something to do?
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone could help me with this, I've already deleted the app data from the stock camera, with no results, so I was wondering if anyone had an apk file to share or any other solutions.

I've already checked, no updates are available.
Can anyone advise me on the one+ updates, I am still on November security and I read they are bi monthly but normally what time of the month do they drop.
I moved from Samsung, their updates were painfully slow, ironically they are now as fast as Google pixel.
I think we are all on November security patch with the 7T
Sent from my HD1907 using Tapatalk
They have these bi-monthy update thing, so you'd think they at least would issue it with the latest security patch.
And this isn't an excuse, as the 7 Pro got like 2 updates in a week or something lol.
On another note: HydrogenOS got it's first open beta for 7T, so hopefully it arrives soon for OOS.
Sent from my OnePlus7TPro using XDA Labs
Well it must end the open Beta for 7 and 7 pro then will bring the update to us.
HydrogenOS already has December rolled...
Translated into
Update log:
system
• Optimize system background management mechanism
• Improve the black / white screen of some applications
• Add sensitive permissions to use strong reminders
• Improve system stability and fix known issues
• Update Android security patch to 2019.12
Games
• Added mini-games, start the game in seconds, and click to play
Hydrogen updates does not always transfer well into Oxygen. Can be major differances.
I am on Android 12 latest release and rooted. I get persistent notifications that I should update to Android 12. How can I stop this annoying notification? I saw a suggestion to disable Google services so I tried that, but all that happened was that I got an even more persistent notification to enable Google services! Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for this response.
Hi Mate,
While searching for a magisk module to convert OOS installed Oneplus 6T as pixel device to upload unlimited photos to Google Photos, I come with this magisk module.
With the help of the module OOS installed Oneplus 6T (and may be others) denoted as Pixel 5 device with following major features:
a. Unlimited Google Photos Storage.
b. Google Discovery on swipe right of OOS launcher.
c. Google Photos portrait filter
d. Others may be.. (please comment if you find out).
Pixel Android 12 as system update will popup once, which we should ignore.
For me SafetyNet gets failed. However with the help of Riru and Universal Safetynet Fix, I am able to Pass Safetynet.
The link of the module (not all the features mentioned in the page are available for our device):
PixelFeatureDrop
Another more feature rich magisk module with many features and without any issue:
Pixelify
Hope it helps the OOS users (and may others).
The problem is that the security patch must match, so if you're running a rom or OOS that has a September security patch or earlier, this will work with the version matching you're security patch. If you're rom is October or later there's likely no way to fix safetynet. There's an Xposed module for unlimited Google photos, and another version of this module called Pixelify with security patches up to November. There's also a 'Pixel Props' channel on telegram with the December security patch.
I can vouch for this module though, it works well. If you're running a rom that uses the pixels system ui you can also get adaptive sound, live caption, pixels wallpapers, the new assistant ui and more.

If will be helpful if you provide the Xposed/Magisk module names to achieve unlimited google photos.
Thanks.
A minimalist approach :
"xmlpak" can achieve unlimited Google photos.
Also I believe that "MagiskHide Props Config" is enough to pass SafetyNet.
Hi,
I'm sure I misunderstood, but does this module make devices that are not original Google's Pixel have the ability to have unlimited storage in google photo?
Hi, is this module works only with custom roms or i can use it with my 11.1.2.2 original oneplus rom with magisk?

It will work with stock OOS as well but need to be rooted. However a more feature rich product exists:
Pixelify
Oneplus 7T with OOS 11.0.6.1.HD65BA not working. Bootloop.
Will this work with Oxygen OS 12/ColorOS 12?
