Bluetooth Call Sound: - Xiaomi Mi 5s Questions & Answers

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone noticed a huge quality drop in the transmit/receive audio quality with bluetooth to a car. I've heard that its a common problem with xiaomi but was just wondering if there was a fix or something I could do to resolve it.
Edit: It kind of makes everyone sound like they're in a tunnel and a bit tinny noise and on their end I sound like I'm distant. I tried it with other phones as well (blackberry priv, iphone 7, samsung s7) but just seems to only be a mi5s issue.

Equalizer program for earpiece to fix voice quality

Since I got my Tilt2 I've been complaining about the voice quality and see many others have too across all the makes tmo/tilt2/etc.
Some described the problem better than me in that it seems like the passover/midrange is lacking which is causing the muffled sound.
Can anyone develop or enable existing equalizer programs so they can be used with the earpiece? I would think there is the potential if we could crank up the treble or midrange perhaps we could improve the voice sound quality..
Any thoughts from the forum?
it wont fix the problem completely, cause it seems to be hw, otherwise all tp2's would have this issue
my opinion its just faulty earpiece speakers, its hard to believe such vendor could allow that, but i think so

Sound is the fatal flaw of the G3

I really like this phone, everything about it is great for me EXCEPT the sound quality. Anything that has to do with the headphone jack is an absolute disaster.
First off I have not experienced the dreaded AUX problem but I have experienced random pausing and skipping - as if I was pressing music controls on my headset - both in my car and on my headphones. I think a headphone jack is starting to wear?
Next I have experienced terrible distortion and static in the left channel, that was until I rooted and Installed Viper4Android. While the problem didn't go away entirely its much better than stock.
Im using my g3 with 3 or 4 devices....
My Acura's line in with Subs/Amps ect.
Shure SE846 In ear monitors
Fiio e6 amp (with the shures, sometimes helps sound quality)
Bluetooth to my Bose Soundlink
The flaws of the g3's sound output are noticeable on any of these, even the bluetooth soundlink and ESPECIALLY, on the SE846 direct.
I created this thread because I dont know what to do, its apparent I am an audiophile and care about my sound quality and youd think Id invest in some sort of MP3 player (I do have a Clip+ ) but I really enjoy using spotify. Should I buy a DAC and just avoid the g3s sound card all together or call and fight with LG and see what they can do?
Is anyone else having these problems? I have the Verizon Device.
I use Westone's connected through a Sony SB52. I haven't noticed any issue except that I like Sony's Walkman app better on my Xperia than LG's player.
I'm fairly picky about music quality and I haven't noticed any issues at all with my HD419s (the only headphones I have right now). Audio quality through aptx bluetooth directly to a car amp and polk component speakers is as good as one would expect too. No skipping or pausing with LG's app. Is that happening when your screen is on? Try turning it off, maybe it's a screen issue? Or maybe it's a glitch with the app you are using? The only problem I had with it was how quiet it was with headphones but the fix with root worked well.
There are several threads about the strange hissing sound - which I also got myself. LG has told me that they're working on fixing it and that it's a known flaw in the current ROMs.
I just got mine and I think this is the best sounding phone I have ever heard. Of course my expectations were very low after my experience with Apple and Samsung.
This opinion is coming from a very jaded HiFi gearhead so your mileage may vary.
The problem I'm facing..
There is noise+distortion+hissing during call
And when headphones are connected I cant understand or listen any thing I only hear wired noises..
Any fix guys ?
Dont know if its technical or software based issue
The sound quality has been noticeably bad for me using headphones also, bluetooth isn't too much of a problem and works fine.
I just got my headphone jack replaced free from LG (as it was doing the random skipping thing) - I quoted that it was a known problem (i mean look on XDA for all the threads) and as my phone was under warranty, i flashed stock firmware and sent it back - when i got it back in 48 hours it was replaced and working. They even cleaned the screen for me lol.
I don't use a headset, only headphones, and the quality is most noticeable on my sennheiser hd800s, but also on my beyerdynamic headphones. Install Viper audio and it improves slightly.
I got mine replaced today as well.
New phone bingo !!

Bluetooth call quality...

Had my Note 8 Pro for a day and more than happy with the graphics, music quality and general performance. However, the Bluetooth call quality is pretty much unusable. Tried a couple of ear buds including Sony, BOSE and Jlabs. That bad that I disconnect and use either the phones speaker or some old wired headphones.
Anyone else had this and if so how did you fix?
Thanks....

Question Pixel 6 Pro Audio Crackle

Is anyone else getting an audio crackle when tapping the mic icon for voice typing? I remember this was fixed through software on my Pixel 2xl years back. It basically pops, sounds like it's clipping. VERY annoying.
Great...
Google still can't provide proper speaker and mic since Nexus 4. How many years has it been now they been providing worst audio and mic performance?

Did a factory reset to see. The microphone in google own messaging app didn't seem to crackle, but through Textra it did.
No crackle for me even on max volume.
What I did notice is that the stereo speaks are imbalanced in terms of volume. The selfie camera side speaker sounds way more "muted" than the charger side speaker.

Agreed. MAYBE the volume levels are the same on both sides, but the selfie side definitely SOUNDS different. I also dislike the way notifications sound. It sounds like it's coming from the back of the phone going away from me, making it sound like it's coming from a different phone a couple feet away from me.

Audio balance has always been an issue with Pixel phones, although they made a change to the series 5 which boosted the ear piece one was called adpative sound, maybe it works as well for 6
Adaptive Sound link

I'm not entirely sure there are speakers there. I can't find a teardown video yet.

Have you actually got the phone? All I've seen you do is comment after comment about how rubbish it is but nothing from you directly?
If you hate it so much don't get one.
No crackle for me. I use the mic often and play podcasts through the speakers of the day. The speakers are good, clear and can get loud if ineed them to.
The popping/crackling sound is happening on my pixel 6 non-pro model. If sound is playing and I either type or move around to different screens this happens. Looks like I am returning it.
So far I've only noticed pixel 6 pro speakers crackling playing genshin impact, easily heard on the main menu, but so far only noticed it in that specific title. Not while playing music or other games. So I'm hoping it's software related and I don't have defective hardware.
No crackle so far, just rocken Music.

Can you do a video for us, showcasing when this happens exactly and what kind of noise gets created?
Too late, returned the phone and earbuds. Between this, the lousy fingerprint reader and the phone randomly calling people, I am done.

I dont get how people get so many issues with phones lol... I've never had problems with any of my phones and I've had many...
My FP works 100% of the time, it is just a bit slower than the rest, but even then, just barely. I have a S21 Ultra in front of me right now and after testing both, I can definitely say that the S21 Ultra is a bit faster, the Pixel one is actually more accurate. I would prefer to have it in the back like previous models.
Having said that, if I did have those issues you described I would return it too.
I feel like it's a software thing, honestly. Because when i first setup myh device before I downloaded all the updates, there wasn't any audtio crackle at high/max volume. After I downloaded the updates, it's there slightly.
I don't have crackling or distortion, but I'm getting a good deal of sibilance from both speakers. Here is a definition of sibilance.
Sibilance
I listen to a lot of YouTube podcasts and videos and this is driving me crazy. I wanted to see if anyone else is having this problem before I see about returning the phone. Adaptive sound and balance control makes no difference.
I have a 6 Pro and have noticed crackling from bottom speaker since purchase when turning speaker on during phone calls. For me I otherwise really like the phone. I will be doing a repair or exchange once more phones become available.
I got my replacement brand new 6 pro, and now this one has distorted and crackling sound from the earpiece speaker. When i press the middle part of the screen anywhere.
I have turned off the adaptive audio, and I can hear the balance over blutooth changing. With one headset when listening to a mono podcast, you can hear the audio balance shifting randomly around.
With another bluetooth headset (my hearing aids), the balance starts out biased to the right, but the longer you listen the more it drifts to the left. Stopping and starting the audio stream immediately corrects it.
What is going on -- I have had every OnePlus Pro model since the 6, never had any issue like this.
Anyone have anything similar and or no how to fix? It is so annoying....

Terrible sound quality when broadcasting via BT

I found that the Mi10T has a terrible sound quality when I pair it with a quality speaker or even my car audio system.
It all sounds like it's in a bathroom, for a lack of better description.
I've compared the same music files with a different phone and it's clearly the Mi10T fault.
I was wondering if anyone knows about this and have a solution.
