I've been wandering forums lately. Even the LOS15 is officially supporting hydrogen only. I see loads of ROM which is official for hydrogen but when it comes to helium there is very very few support on official builds. for example only official one is RR 5.8.4. The question is why helium does not gathering some official love too? Its 652 you know its powerful enough to capable which paired with 3 gigs of RAM. I just want to hear from developers why there is no official builds for helium? Is it based on kernel code or something similar to this?
Based on dev will...
becoz its user base is limited, that is fault of mi, they released phone but shipped later to consumer but in that time ppl purchased hydrogen so hydrogen has good user base . also soc 650 has many phone than 652. like kenzo etc

Hey I'm a huge MIUI fan and I'd love to see what the Oneplus 3 could do running MIUI anyone here willing to port the ROM for me willing to pay.....I really want
I find this request funny: it's not that Xiaomi doesn't market 5,5" devices, so if you like MIUI why purchase OP3 in the first place?
I own a Xiaomi Mi4c: that's a good device, but after trying MIUI out for one month or so I switched to CM 13 as soon as I could, and didn't turn my head behind once.

Well I had the mi5 and it was OK but I didn't have pro model and only had 3gb with full speed 820 so the prime model and MIUI is a high ram needed os and the Oneplus 3 has 6gb ram which would make one of the best mixes as I love MIUI
Mi5 has similar spec to our OP3
so i think someone will like that idea & try to port
deverlopment isn't easy, especially with new chipset
Interested in that too
Everyone seemed to be pretty excited about the 7x/Mate SE to have treble support. We have oreo and confirmed treble support. But what now? It seems like it doesn't really matter. Not that many roms being ported over. So whats up? Is treble support overhyped?

I think Huawei has updated a grand total of 31 phones across all the variants.

IMO.. Treble is more "Vendor-Friendly" than "User-Friendly" .
There is so much to dissect when it comes to the 7x.. why has Honor not released Nougat Firmware? this device was announced October of 17' and released December of 17'.. yet nothing.
Why did they *really* pull the bootloader-unlock page..
I'm sure, you'll see the Carbon, Linage, RR ROM's officially ported over eventually.. But you will not see the good old fashion "Developer Support" with the 7x. I mean not just ports but Kernel development.. and to be honest,
That's where you speed increases, better battery life, user-adjustable governors and features come from.. more so than any port is going to afford you.
That's where the 7x and it's Kirin Engine fall short.
Take a look at Moto G5 Plus thread ( I had one of those but @ 5.2 inches I did not like the screen size ) and just look at the development the Snapdragon 625 has gotten.. Even the Snapdragon 636 is already seeing a lot of love.. and seems like the perfect Price / Performance Engine for 2018.
The 7x is a good device.. just not a popular one.
Hi guys
I'll try to make this short. I lost my Redmi Note 5 Pro (which I loved) and now I need a new phone. I stumbled upon the Honor 7x while searching for an alternative. You should know that I never bought a Huawei phone, I only used high end devices from Samsung, OP, LG and recently been using Xiaomi phones. I had a very bad experience with the Redmi Note 4 with its MTK SoC, since I LOVE flashing custom ROMs and doing all sort of new stuff with my device (rooting, xposed, theming..etc).
How is development doing for this device? Will I be able to easily unlock my bootloader, install TWRP and flash custom ROMs?
Also, how is battery life? and does the Kirin SoCs overheat and thermal throttle like MTK while gaming?
How is the overall smoothness of this phone (on official ROM)? No lags or some lags?
I'd really appreciate it if someone of you could provide some useful inputs based on your experience with this phone.
Thanks!
If you're type of person who loves to flash mods like Gcam,ViperForAndroid.prefer having tons of ROMs, smooth Gaming Experience Then a big No. Considering Honor 7x on Oreo is treble enabled you can surely flash gsi and Openkirin gsi yet none of them having VOLTE. Development on Kirin Soc is just bare bones. Speaking of EMUI is pretty good if you prefer Customs Skins over stock android. Speaking of battery gives Average 6-7 SOT.
Suggestion: if you're in hurry then get zenfone max pro else wait for Mi max 3, Nokia X6 , Mi A2 they are launching soon in indian markets.

Omg I love the Asus zenfone max pro! It seems such a great device for the price of less than 200$. But I can't seem to find it anywhere aside from flipkart or ebay (overpriced). I'm not an indian so I can't order it from flipkart. Do you know if it will be sold in the future on aliexpress or another international website?
OnePlus is the way to go. Get the 5T or the 6, both are very fine devices. Heck, even the OP3 (and 3T) are still good today.
If you like to tweak devices then this is for you. This phones hardware potential is ridiculous. The silicone is just a great piece of engineering and you can install some ROMS. Developers will make more because they know how good the hardware, not to mention the great price tag.

You mean sources for this device are now available for devs to create custom ROMs?

I'm not sure if sources are available, but Huawei is normally pretty good at releasing such things.
According to this URL: https://consumer.huawei.com/en/open...Type=openSourceSoftware&pageSize=10&curPage=1
If you search 'BND', you'll see "7X,BND,EMUI5.1,Android7.0"
What I meant originally was, the Honor 7X is an INCREDIBLE phone at an incredible price, lots of customization/tweaking options. I personally have lineage OS beta 4 installed.

1. I'm not a developer so I don't know, there are only a handful of custom OS you can download ATM.
2. Huawei provides you with a bootloader code to easily unlock the bootloader.
3. The trick with TWRP is you need to beable to install a TWRP that does decryption. Reason being is the Honor 7x, I don't know if its the entire phone.. it probably is... but I know for a fact some parts are encrypted, and you can't make a TWRP backup unless your TWRP can handle decryption. I tried to install a TWRP with decryption thats suppose to work for our phone, but I got some kind of error (I didn't write it down, but the error basically meant that it didn't work). The TWRP with decryption thats available was made for another Huawei phone thats suppose to work for the 7x. One thing you could try, would be to decrypt the phone, and then see if you can make a TWRP backup. Theres a few ways to do that: 1. TWRP>Format Data. 2. fastboot erase userdata 3. Theres probably a GUI way to do it in Settings>Security&Privacy>Encryption&Credentials>Encrypt Phone.
4. Battery life, Its way better than the Honor 5x. I haven't had my phone for very long, so I can't tell you the real world battery results. My battery menu says I have 7 days left of battery if that tells you anything. My Honor 5x got 4 days max, and this phone I know beats it... so my estimate is 5 days of battery for my usage. I'm pretty sure that Oreo has made improvements as far as battery. I looked at catlog in realtime, there wasn't hardly any activity going on unless you did something. On my Honor 5x there was always activity going on regardless.
5. I haven't played any games yet, So I don't know about SOC temps while under load. I've read on other posts that Kirin SOCS temps are good. Right now mines sitting at 29 celcius, which is excellent!
6. On official ROM, I only played with it for a short while, it seemed smooth. Now its not as smooth as iPhone, but I felt like it was just about as smooth as an android is gonna get.
I've been using pixel experience for a couple of months but i think lineage os is a little snappier so i decided to switch back but I can't find the official build for it anymore, the device is nowhere to be found in the supported device list. Is this the end?!!
Yes. Maybe they will move to redmi note 7/7 pro.
They sure dropped this phone fast, its not even a year old. And besides the RN4 is still supported but not the 5? WTF
And theres still no global RN7 version either so why the rush.
One reason could be that many developers of this phone got an upgrade to flagship level phones like Pocophone F1. I'm assuming the official Lineage OS developer was one of them, which may have affected the update intervals and features with time. Maybe that's why the Lineage OS team chose not to keep this phone on their list. (Unless if a developer invests their skills and time on this).
Also, Lineage OS also didn't stand out that much in this device's forum because of Custom ROMs like Pixel Experience, HAVOC, AOSIP, and OEM ROMs like Oxygen OS and Samsung Experience. These developers have contributed so much that Lineage OS was not really needed that much. (Please Thank these developers on the forums and donate, if you can. They really have worked hard on this)
I could be wrong but it must be related to either of these things.
???
Does anyone has the last official build? is not on the official page anymore
As usual after every new OS release, I want to ask here is there a ready of hope for an update to this beast?
If at all yes from which developer are we going to see the support?
Android 10 looks more polished and better. I am sure our Mi6 hardware surely supports it.
Any positive answers are welcome.
Thanks for your understanding.
Not only Android 10, I think we are covered for next couple of Android versions. Snapdragon 835 is a fairly popular processor. We can safely say Qualcomm will support 835 couple more years. So if there is support, there will be custom ROMs. Also, even after that, some intelligent guy / team will port Android 13, 14, 15 to it, for sure.

Oh I see... Very nicely put. I didn't know this. Thanks for opening my ?. You belong to either Google or Xiaomi or one of the leading developer in custom ROM 's.
Thanks that you got yourself bothered to answer me...
