Well about a month ago my brother bought a Lenovo p2 from a retail shop in dubai. There was a clearance sale and only Lenovo p2 that was left was a display unit. They were selling it at half the price. The phone was new and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. Upon checking my brother noticed a Lenovo vibe watermark on the screen but he thought it was on the screen protector. Well he gave it to me as my lg g2 screen was broken. I too thought that it was on the screen protector but yesterday i removed the protector and the watermark was still there. Its every where, on the boot screen also. Obviously its embedded in the screen. Well its a silly question to ask but is there any way to get rid of it. You can see it in the photo attached.
You'll have to get the glass replaced. May be simple if it's not bonded to the LCD panel.
I think the watermark must be on the front glass, it couldn't be on the lcd panel. But replacing the glass alone is very risky and i ain't good with the hardware nor I have required tools.
Can you see it if the screen is off, too?
Perhaps it's a screen burn in issue...

No the watermark is invisible when the scren is off also you cannot see it on darker backgrounds. It is visible on light background. Its there always obviously but you cannot see it on darker background. I think this shows perhaps the watermark is burnt on the LCD panel.

So you have two options
1. Return the device to the store and ask for refund or repair
2. Replace the screen at your own cost (thus negating any saving you made on buying an ex-display device)
For me 1. is the way to go.

Where may I a replacing screen for my Le Max 2? It has just fallen on the floor and is broken even though the touch screen is still working
thanks
Hope this helps. Check the store feedback before buying.

Good to know it can be done and there are spare parts around.
Always thought it was fatal with these newer "design over everything" phones.

I don't know. Perhaps someone else on the forum has that information. I think they sell original screens but it's best you contact the sellers directly before ordering.

Hi!
Any update since October? I`m facing the same issue. I have googled a bit and found some complaints related to LCDs from Aliexpress claiming that they are no so bright and blurry, sometimes with white spots.
I have also find only a glass replacement https://www.aliexpress.com/item/5-7...lgo_pvid=aec8908f-0e28-4202-a650-ab20f3981970
of a glass with digitizer: http://www.ebay.com/itm/for-LeEco-L...966586?hash=item58e23ffdba:g:z4wAAOSw-kdXxPkl
But... also a lot people claims that the LCD is almost inseparable from glass... Do anyone have an experience with only glass replacement?
I found a local service that claims to be able to do that.. but I do not know whether to trust them not destroy the LCD. The said, that they do not have an experience with Le Max 2 but with other phones.
Thanks

If you can get the fast delivery, then you can give it a go. Although it's a risky operation,it might be alright in the end. The service should have some experience if they say that for other brands/phones they have succeeded. It might be ok, but always keep in mind that something might go wrong. And it's not worth waiting 2 months for the glass and another 2 for the display.
Edit: you can google the process and you will see how it's done for other phones. They need to have special devices.

Thanks for such a fast reply. I already did https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRqSyZk1SOU It seems to be very tricky. I have relatively fast delivery about 2-3 weeks so I`ll give it a try with only a glass an digitizer http://www.ebay.com/itm/for-LeEco-L...966586?hash=item58e23ffdba:g:z4wAAOSw-kdXxPkl.
I`ll write a review after the whole process is done for future reference
Very difficult. They make it look easy on youtube. I attempted a glass only repair on a nexus 6. You have to have correct amount of heat, and the LCD is very fragile. Too much heat will damage the display, but you need enough heat to soften the loca glue to be able to separate the glass from the lcd.. I even had a scientific dry bath at my disposal to get the right temp.. Not worth a home repair attempt IMO.
Cost of the le max 2 is just the reason I bought this phone (vs a $600+ device) and put on tempered glass from Ali express for less than $2. Will you consider replacing your phone for $200?
My wife broke her tempered glass protector twice on the max 2. Easy fix, just replaced the tempered glass cover. I'm just saying I learned the hard way, on a more expensive Nexus 6. I wasn't aware of tempered glass protectors then. Even after destroying my lcd (by trying a glass-only repair) and ending up buying the lcd+glass assembly, I still didn't get the phone's frame tight with the display assembly to make it acceptable.
I tried to repair lcd once for another phone. It took me 1h just to disassemble the phone, and half an hour more to try to carefully separate lcd from digitizer. I failed and then there was no point spending another hour puting the phone back together and had to throw all those tiny parts to the garbage. Think about this before you try.
Home repairs of such kind are a no go. This is why I encourage him to go to the repair shop where they do that kind of repairs to the screen. They do have a special heated plate with temperature adjustment, a vacuum device that eliminates any bubbles between the lcd and glass, etc. Also do note that not all the repair shops are doing this. Most of them are collecting phones for the specialized shops and charge an extra fee.
In conclusion, this kind of repair is not for everybody, and it would be best done in a specialized repair shop. For reference, check the following video:
I know it's written in romanian and for an Allview, but I guess that most of the things are understandable to get the idea of how complicated the whole process is for any home attempt.
So, after a month in repair center I have my phone back. The screen is an original one with digitizer changed. Between digitizer and screen there are some bubbles, buttons are switched, like back is on a left instead of right and the bugged issue... They are very undeterministic and do not always work and sometimes they work without even touching so... Apps are switching and so on... I needed to disable them and use gestures instead.
The repair was about 40USD and digitizer 15 USD... It is hard to say whether it was worth it or exchange the complete screen.

I can personally recommend this vendor. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/For...32820735893.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.xEXMor
Replacing the screen + digitiser on this model is pretty easy provided you have access to a hot air gun. Took me about 15 minutes and I'm in NO WAY a pro. For the price of a new screen I definitely wouldn't attempt a digitizer-only repair.

And I can say, It's same as the original one in every detail(Even production date so close). Replacement is very easy with tool that came with screen.
BTW, You have to buy glue(B6000,E7000,T8000 or whatver) for fix it in place.
Yesterday I dropped my phone while on call from the ear to floor(~6 ft). I think it hit a stone at top right corner near front camera. The screen is shattered and crack propagated from the corner to the entire screen. The frame is also damaged a bit. Even though everything works fine fortunately, using the phone is uncomfortable as I have to strain myself to read.
I wanted to change the display manually and saw some videos. It looks like 'can be done'. But I cant find original LG screen online anywhere. I contacted the service centre and they replied it would cost 7200/- INR (109 US$). I personally opt original screen because of the screen calibration.
What to do? Can you guys suggest something?
Thanks.

Hey guys my screen is broken, but the touch screen is not, but some guys told me to buy the touch screen too. If someone here got broke his mi max and he replace the screen please I would like to know which screen he bought... I heard a lot of things about the colours. That the market screens are not original and the colours are very weak. So PLEASE.. I need you IMMEDIATELY
In generally...
Firs of all check with Aida64 which panel is used as their is more than one used in Mi Max. Usually it is Tianma R63350 & all do Tianma have a very good distribution network across the EU you won't find any references for this particular display. Second part should be to check if it's just touch panel/protective glass broken or you need a complete set (touch, glass, LCD).
Digitizer/glass will cost you 8.30$
https://www.parts4repair.com/touch-screen-digitizer-for-xiaomi-mi-max-white/
Complete pack with LCD/Digitizer and glass will cost you 35~36$ (tip don't pay more for it).
https://www.parts4repair.com/complete-screen-assembly-for-xiaomi-mi-max-white/
Warning; before purchasing the set be certain to see & confirm (from seller side) how its a same LCD display!
For additional info, finding possible better deal, replacement guides and cetera just search in browser for "xiaomi mi max display replacement".
My personal advice is that when you purchase the part's gave them for replacing to skilled professional in mobile services repair shop close to you & naturally try to bargain about the price.
Best regards.
I just bought whatever was cheapest on eBay. I haven't noticed any issues with the screen but the three buttons below the screen are no longer evenly lit, it used to bother me but now I don't even notice.
I have never replaced the touchscreen and screen separately, but when trying to replace my screen I definitely broke both so I would recommend buying both parts. Try to get the glue for the screen too! I had to use some super glue so I am pretty sure I can never replace it again.

+1. Cracked my screen last week, still fully functional but crack pattern is expanding and I don't trust it to be usable for a long time to come.
Been searching for replacement screen assembly but found nothing. Going to try contacting Lenovo technical support in my country now...
Lenovo tech support pointed me to a repair firm.
Repair firm asks to send the phone in, after which they provide a quote. If I don't agree to get it fixed, I have to pay a few tens for problem analysis. Like wtf, it's a cracked screen, you change it, it's a standard job with a standard cost that you can give me before I send it in!
Called another repair firm. They can't get the screen.
Apparently these screens are just not available.
They are on Aliexpress right HERE.
Expensive as hell though, considering you can get a new P2 for 180 euro's or a new screen for 160.

Seems like nowhere.
The order I made on aliexpress was subsequently cancelled because of it being "out of stock".
Options at this point seem limited to:
1. get it fixed for stupid money (not even sure whether any fixing service can get their hands on it)
2. try to locate a damaged second-hand phone with working screen you can buy for less
3. if your LCD and touch input still work fine like mine, just put up with it and wait for some months until people start upgrading and the asking prices for second-hand models start to drop
4. meanwhile, search on aliexpress or ebay every single day and hope a screen gets available for an acceptable price
I dropped my phone yesterday and the screen shattered from end to the other but the phone is working fine. I have just ordered the replacement front glass off of ebay for £19.99 from HK but seems a bit too cheap to me but worth a gamble at that price. Only problem is I have no idea how to take the phone apart and separate the glass from the digitizer! Are there instructions about I could follow or is my best bet taking it to a mobile phone repair shop to get it done?
I can post the ebay number if anyone is interested.

You tube. Check the entire display removal tutorial. Then check glass replacement tutorial for galaxy s8.
After taking off display, you have to chip off the glass from display after heating it with a hot air gun. Then remove the residual UV glue from panel. Then after making sure panel is clean, apply new UV glue on center, then place glass on top and then press from center gently to spread the glue evenly and that's it.

Hi all. I've had un unfortunate phone drop last night, resulting in the glass of the screen broken in the lower left corner. The screen is displaying perfect and so the digitizer. I've seen some sellers on amazon selling the glass only with no digitizer nor display. Can anyone let me know if this can be changed (glass of the screen only), and if so, any tutorials or videos to do so?
I really dont want to spend more than $100 on a new screen...
I hope someone helps! Thanks!!! Cheers.

I dropped my Pixel 2 XL in November, also only the glass was broken.
But I paid €180 for the glass plus screen, because the screen is razor-thin and glued to the glass. As far as I know, the glass isn't sold separately, at least not as original from Google.
And believe me, the glass is very thin, but the screen is even thinner. So before buying a third-party-glass, I would check how to get the screen off the glass and back again.
I've been looking for some videos about this, and it looks really complicated to separate the glass from the screen, but possible. Some guys apply extreme cold or heat to unglue the screen, then they clean up ALL the screen, and then they reapply something to stick it to the new glass (I don't know what they use). So balancing the hard work to do this, I'm starting to think it will be a better option to change the whole screen. Do anyone knows if new purchased genuine screens comes with the blue problem solved? Any good place to purchase a genuine one within USA?
Thanks for the answers and help...
