[REQ] Epic 4G or Fascinate Lockscreen !

hey folks !
I don´t know if someone has already noticed ,but the epic 4g lockscreen and fascinant lockscreen look much better than Galaxy S :

Absolutely.

I HATE the Galaxy S sliding the whole screen away thing, looks ugly and hard to use.
However I LOVE the notification puzzle pieces... Does this still have that?
Any videos of this in action?

I think the verizon version has a puzzle piece to unlock the screen instead of the whole screen

OH YES! That is perfect! Just what I wanted.
And I assume it shows the notifications there as well so you can choose to drag a notification or a unlock piece. Nice nice nice.

hope the fascinate screen gets ports. kinda nice to get the screen unlocked using the puzzle piece.

Guys , i´ve been thinking..
may we port a Fascinate rom for our galaxy s ?
they are identical ! we just need to change the kernel ,right ?

Can somebody please port one of these lock screens or atleast tell me how to go about doing it? If I download a system dump of one of these devices can I extract some files from there, build them into a update zip and flash it or is it a lot more complicated than that?

If you just want the lock screen you can try swapping out the framework-res.apk from one of the other builds and substituting it onto your i9000 and see what happens.
You may want to back everything up beforehand.

LOL "may" is a HUGe understatement.
It'll probably not come back up after reboot, and need a re-flash!

Don't we already have the puzzle lockscreen?
If you don't have a passcode, and you have a missed call/missed text, and you go to unlock it, it shows the puzzle for me. But..I also do have a Captivate, idk if it's different for the i9000 ROM.

Q) how to remove delay after call?

Its very annoying..there was a delay (2-3s) after a phone call.
Any tip or link for this? Much appreciated. Thks

I made tons of phone call everyday..if every call I have to wait for 2-3s..what do you think?

This has been fixed in omega rom. .check there

Just because it doesn't bother you doesn't mean the OP should just ignore it too. I make maybe 1-3 calls a day & it bothers me too.
Anyway, this can probably be resolved with a simple build prop edit(You need to be rooted, BTW). I did some googling and added these lines to my build prop-
mot.proximity.delay=25
ro.lge.proximity.delay=25
After a reboot, the lag seems to be much improved. Give this a try, if you need any help feel free to PM me.

hey william! the mods you posted is to reduce the delay after the call. the OP wanted a solution to reduce the lag before the call. for this purpose, the mod is as follows:
#Add-fix dialing out delay:
ro.telephony.call_ring.delay=0
try with zero first if it does not work try it with setting at 800 i.e.
#Add-fix dialing out delay:
ro.telephony.call_ring.delay=800
reboot for the mod to take effect.

here you see guys i am using this on SF and its amazing , I was really annoyed with this wait for few seconds after disconnecting the call
but now i dont as soon as i disconnect the call it immediately takes me to the call log screen or contact or what ever screen that you started from

I had a strange issue like this, it didn't look exactly like this message. But it was a strange message like this, some rogue app caused it in my case. Do you install many games on your hox ?

no i don't any games! i have a some apps... like Switkeyboard and more...
maybe it from any my apk apps that i install!?

Yeah.... pretty obvious you installed a 'cracked' apk. I am fairly certain the app in question is actually Swiftkey. I wish you luck in whatever you decide to do with the cracked app.
Oh... and a spyware scan won't come up with anything really... since well, it's a pirated app and the message is a way for the cracker to show off his 'work of art'.

hey guys i search a little bit in the internet the mean of this message and i found that is some cracker and the problem its not from Swiftkey the problem is from Go backup premium.

[Q] S4 mini shutter sound

Hi there,
Any means of disabling, or at least, lowering the "shutter sound" on this device ?
I know this is a recurring question on many devices, and that in some countries (including mine apparently), there are laws that require cameras to be "noisy", but I'd just like to make it a little quieter, not even silence it totally.
I've checked in the menus: no "shutter sound" option anywhere. I've fiddled with the different sound menus, to no avail. The thing is: I know this is perfectly possible by rooting the phone, but is there any app/mod/else that could do the job without having to root the phone ?

Look for Google Enforced Stream Silencer. (https://sites.google.com/site/enforcedstreamsilencer/)
It works on my I9195.

Did you tried to remove the media files from /system/media/ui or replace the by less noisy or empty ones

OK, thanks, I'll probably root it when the warranty is over (or when I really want something that needs root but have no alternative, whichever comes first), but for now, I'll rather stick with Norris5's method.

when the warranty is over you will use the galaxy s8 in 2 years ... you can root, use triangle away and if you got probs just reflash the stockrom with odin

Doesn't seem like Triangle Away supports the s4 mini? It's not listed on the thread!

Hey Bruno, did you get this to work? I installed and activated the enforcer thingy, but hasn't affected my always on, always loud camera shutter.

It better than stock camera, and has option to disable the shutter sound.

Hi Chris,
Unfortunately, no, it didn't work for me either. Sorry to have neglected informing the list earlier.
However, the app TNCS is talking about in his answer (called "A better camera") works perfectly and does not make any shutter sound ! Great !

New screen calibration

Just replaced the screen on my z1c and the touch screen is not working properly.
I cannot type q,a caps and num. and all letters are about 5mm out of alignment when touched. I'm running pac 5.1 and this is the second screen I've tried with same outcome.
Is there a screen touch calibrator or something or is the phone stuffed?

Exactly the same issue ... replaced my screen 10 minutes ago. Did the test and could not clear the test picture. about 7mm untouchable on the entire left hand side.

I have the exact same problem, did anyone find a solution?

I also need to change my screen so I'm interested on this.
If this don't work maybe your digitizer is bad Or something else, but other user has the same issue.

I prefer not to root my device unless I really have to. Besides I didn't read anywhere that you have to root the device for that

That didn't work at all, I don't want to root my phone for the very slim chance it could

Rooting doesn't bite you know. You can always get rid of it if it doesn't work but maybe you find other benefits that rooting gives.

I know, but my priority right now is to get the screen fixed/ calibrated, and I'm not sure rooting will help with that. That is unless someone can say for sure that rooting and using the app will fix it.

I tried both those apps and made no difference to screen touch.My screen touch is still about 5mm out and about 1cm of left side will not work. I have tried 3 different screens now.
