[REQ] Epic 4G or Fascinate Lockscreen !

hey folks !
I don´t know if someone has already noticed ,but the epic 4g lockscreen and fascinant lockscreen look much better than Galaxy S :

Absolutely.

I HATE the Galaxy S sliding the whole screen away thing, looks ugly and hard to use.
However I LOVE the notification puzzle pieces... Does this still have that?
Any videos of this in action?

I think the verizon version has a puzzle piece to unlock the screen instead of the whole screen

OH YES! That is perfect! Just what I wanted.
And I assume it shows the notifications there as well so you can choose to drag a notification or a unlock piece. Nice nice nice.
I really really hope someone can port these.

Guys , i´ve been thinking..
may we port a Fascinate rom for our galaxy s ?
they are identical ! we just need to change the kernel ,right ?

Can somebody please port one of these lock screens or atleast tell me how to go about doing it? If I download a system dump of one of these devices can I extract some files from there, build them into a update zip and flash it or is it a lot more complicated than that?

If you just want the lock screen you can try swapping out the framework-res.apk from one of the other builds and substituting it onto your i9000 and see what happens.
You may want to back everything up beforehand.

LOL "may" is a HUGe understatement.
It'll probably not come back up after reboot, and need a re-flash!

Don't we already have the puzzle lockscreen?
If you don't have a passcode, and you have a missed call/missed text, and you go to unlock it, it shows the puzzle for me. But..I also do have a Captivate, idk if it's different for the i9000 ROM.

[Q] Jelly Bean 260dpi Lock Screen Center Mod?

Hey guys,
Anyone running a Jelly Bean ROM with a lower than 320 dpi will understand how annoying it is for the items on the lockscreen (time, date, lock-ring, provider) to be off-centre, justified to the right.
As far as I can see, there are no mods / patches for this problem at the moment. I'm not a developer, but it appears that it is possible to fix this:

Unfortunately, I don't know. I stumbled across this screenshot on one of the ROM forums (can't remember which one ) and somebody was claiming to be able to fix the problem, but he was pretty much ignored..
I was hoping a dev might recognize some of the code and be able to identify where it came from

If someone will get me that file name I will make the changes now and test, this is also driving me crazy, I am looking into it as I type lol

ok, i found the .xml file to change with the code I need to change, however changing it does nothing.
the file name is "keyguard_screen_unlock_portrait", found here "framework-res.apk\res\layout"
again the changes do nothing, even after clearing cache nothing happens. They only thing I was able to get to change was moving the "charging text" to the left of the screen. I am not a dev so I have no idea why this is not working.

I finally got the lockscreen circle centered!!! now I can stop going crazy and really enjoy this ROM!!!!

[TIP] Solve SW2's constant conecctions-disconnections [ROOT].

Well guys, I have a short tip to solve that common problem on the SW2 (as far as I read). I have only tried it on my smartphone, but it worked and you could try just in case. You´ll need root for this. Don't worry, if it doesn't work for you, you can go back to normal easily.
In my case, my phone killed the smartwatch service and then it "revived". So I put the Low Memory Killer (LKM) (not sure if is that the English name, in Spanish it's called "Prefijos de Limpieza de Memoria") into a lower value that it had (depends of the phone). After that, my disconnections problems disappeared
To change it, I recommend use Kernel Adiutor, an awesome kernel tweaker.
I hope this works for you. Tell me your results. Peace

I think this do not happen on modern phone with 1 Go or 2 Go memory.

This is interesting and I would like to try it. Which low memory killer value did you change? I assume you changed 'hidden applications' but I thought I would check.

I actually changed to one of the "pre-set profiles" of kernel audiutor because I'm lazy [emoji14].

But yeah, the smartwatch service is just that, a hidden app, so if you just want to change hidden applications it should be enough.
I would change empty apps a little too because when the smartwatch isn't doing anything, my phone thought the service was one. (?)

Thanks, I have Kernel Audiutor as part of my ROM anyway so it is easy to do. I was thinking of playing around with the LMK after reading your post, which preset profile did you finally choose? I actually use two Smartwatches:
An SW2 is attached to the handle bars of my motorcycle for a variety of reasons
I sometimes wear a Cogito Classic
I have many more problems with random disconnects with the Cogito than the SW2 but I will play around.
I also have the canonical problem of the phone randomly disconnecting from my car's Bluetooth and this could be the cure for that ill as well. Of course, it is very difficult to prove the absence of a problem like that.

I can't find a trigger to it, as I open the same apps each morning in the same order: endomondo, sports-tracker, biko and strava. All of them use the GPS and usually work ok. But suddenly, last week GPS dated started to malfunction and first no satellites in view, then after reboot the problem on the screenshot arises: many satellites in view but no fix.
I tried GPS test and GPS status apps to clear GPS cache, but it doesn't work at all. But sometimes just opening this apps kind of "un jams" the GPS and it gets a fix.
Any idea if this is an Android issue, a Huawei problem and if there is a solution to it?

Tried it and it seems to be working fine, but can't tell after using it for a couple days. Will let you know.
[Edit] It was an illusion, my phone is not rooted. I'm on B708. How can i root it?

Nevermind, just found a way on this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g85m1Pkh43I and it's rooted. I tried again, seems to be working. Let's see in a few weeks if this is for real.

Bad news, it's back again.
It's not even cloudy.
I've noticed it happens more often in the mornings, at night GPS locks almost immediately. Also, a reboot fixes it most of the times. It has to be something related to system. But what?

Hmmm, i still get problems with the speed but not as badly as i used too, i always leave my gps on so its a warm start, it can take up to 4 mins to download the catalogs from the sats with a cold start, i am afraid the gps will never be perfect ob this phone the best thing is tp try to manage it as best you can, leave it on with gps test and let it download all the catalogs, this will take about 15 mins then always keep gps on, this will help it retain the catalogs, it wont use much battery mine doesnt, this will reduce the lock time, i would also change the setting to autonomous in the setting instead of network assisted and try that.

It's a manufacturing defect in some devices.
Screen needs to be replaced to fix this.

You can try flashing stock ROM and recovery and give the device to service center and hope they won't find out...

I tried that too .. Got 2 complete white box/ strip of unresponsive touch .
In fact even after replacing screen there were some problems so I gave it again (about 15 days ago) still haven't received my device

Lenovo give me sooperb service. My phone display is replaced in only one day . Im rooted my phone, then also i got free service .

Check whether dt2w is working cause many users who got their screen replaced reported that the functionality is broken..

Everything works fine . But when I try to flash stock firmware some files can't flash. So when I make calls I can't here any sound and that side they can't here what I m talking.
Please suggest me any solution.
When I'm connected to Bluetooth headset that time all is perfect.

Got my device with Knock to light working yesterday after almost a month.
Now everything works fine.
