Unfortunately our device doesn't support AptX/AptXHD Bluetooth streaming, so I started searching for methods to make it work anyway as I'm looking for a bluetooth adapter to accompany my SE215 earbuds.
Stumbled upon this thread, is there anyone rooted and on a CAF/CM/Lineage ROM willing to test this?

Hi all,
Sorry for my poor english...
Has anyone had any experience using a HP BT Headphones (FA303A) with non-IPAQ devices?
I looking info if it is compatible with my ACER N311 but not able to find any info about compatibility between the two. Would installing appropriate drivers work?
RE-HP BT Headphones (FA303A) and non-IPAQ devices
Hi...just wanted to drop a line as to what I have found out on this subject.
Your question can only be answered if you know a little more about your device..
1) Which bluetooth stack are you using (Broadcom/Widcom or Microsoft)
2) Does you device support the A2DP function already (should be listed in your bluetooth options)
2a ) If it is not listed in your bluetooth functions, you will need a driver for the Microsoft stack (it is supplied with the headphones)
OR
2b) you will need to find, download and install the Broadcom/widcom bluetooth patch..
In either case (2a or 2b) if you have researched the issue and installed the driver or patch... the High Audio definition should show as a new function in your bluetooth.
If it does you can then "pair" the headphones with your device and test the functionality...
If someone could post the driver for the IPAQ Bluetooth Stereo Headphones, I would be more than happy to test this all and give everyone the results....
Last note: It cold also be that you device can then (if the patch or driver work correctly) pair your device with any other device (i.e. car radio etc. that also supports the A2DP function. This is what I am looking into now but HP is not posting the driver for the headphones so I cannot download or test.. They only offer an update to the drivers ...and this is only for the PPC 55xx model...
If someone can post the drive let me know !!!
Hope this helps you...
RE2-HP BT Headphones (FA303A) and non-IPAQ devices
I have noticed that your device has the Mobile 5 software.
I have read that microsoft and HP are working on a bluetooth upgrade for the A2DP profile... as such, you may want to consult support for your device and ask the question "will there be an update to support A2DP function"?
Till now this upgrade is being discussed on only selected models (not all devices), but from what I gather the devices in question are only the devices with Mobile 5 on them ...
Hope this helps as well

if your unit support a2dp: yes
Broadcom: High Quality Audio
MS: Wireless Stereo
the passcode for pairing is 0000
however, it's highly recommended to put reinforcement on the headband to prevent notorious breaking
I have successfully streamed audion on Beta 8. I don't know what I've done wrong.
I have two headsets setup a Jabra BT800 and a BT Stero Headset. Everything seems fine in Bluetooth set up. How do I stream audio to BT Stero Headset?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
when you post something like this under the general non spc device part of the forum you'd may get better results saying beta X of what!?!??!
you'd prob get even better results posting it in the forum of the device you have if it is htc
Thanks for reminding where I am, what is the best way
I forgot I was in a general forum. I pulled the ROM update from here so I figured it was the best place to post my question.
I have and O2 Xda Exec (Universal)
I used the Universal update to AKU3_2 beta 8 and sucessfully streamed audio once. Unfortunately had other errors and abandoned it.
I tried to update to Beta 12. It seem to work better but notice that only the device image was updated, no radio update, etc. Also, was never able to stream audio.
My end goal is to have a device that can stream BT audio and do voice command (would prefer MS version but the last update with the ROM is good too). Please tell me what you would suggest.
Thank you for your patience.
Did a quick search and didn't come up with anything but..
Is there a video chat app that allows users to use Bluetooth headsets? Is there one in the works?
I find it very inconvenient that the whole world needs to be involved in my video chat sessions.. Bluetooth would provide the much needed wireless solution to conversation privacy..
I have used plug in (3mm) headsets, but only tango allows the use of one and I find the cord quite annoying..

if your using an Froyo rom then you can use SuperMonoFroyo there is a lite version on the market that will let you test it out. but it routes all audio to a Bluetooth headset i have tested this on tango and it worked good on the stock app but have not got around to testing it on my gingerbread rom yet. Hopefully that will help you out
Hi all,
New to xda-developers and after watching the n00b video I was a little hesitant to post however I searched & rang my mother as I was advised in the video.
Now my question is, Seeing as the N7 & N7.2 is such a popular device to install into a vehicle as a head unit/on-board computer replacement I was wondering if there were any plans on a Bluetooth hands-free application of sorts with the correct profiles.
I have an iPhone5 cellular phone & would LOVE to pair it to my N7.2 and use the N7.2 as a Hands-free device with my contact list/phone dialler etc.
I know the Parrot Asteroid Smart has this capability, But have not found anyone with a little more knowledge attempting to move the cert & install the software on another device with the required drivers etc.
I am running CyanogenMod 10.2 nightly on my N7.2 so I have USB-DAC working but would love this ability or help to achieve this.
Thanks Heps
FD
EDIT:
Does anyone have any HFP working?
Hello, can anyone who bought Moto Z Play confirm it supports aptX audio codec and successfully play audio through an aptX connection to an aptX supported audio device, or confirm it does not? On the official pages and GSMArena specs I saw only A2DP which is SBC codec.
I wrote to Lenovo tech support and they responded they don't know anything about aptX then suggested me ask aptX team. So wrote another e-mail and seems that the response will be slow. So does anyone can kindly prove it here? Thanks you.
There is another way to confirm, one can check if there is a file named something like libbt-aptX-ARM-4.2.2.so under the path /system/lib/ which means this device supports aptX codec. Can somebody confirm this?

There is a file with the exactly name you said on that folder. So i am inclined to think it has support to aptX codec.
Even the first Moto G supported aptX, last years Moto X Play supported aptX, even though Motorola did not mention it anywhere. Somehow they never talk about aptX but one can take it as granted.
Weird how aptx support almost never seems to be marketed or even mentioned. It costs money to license, you'd think hardware makers would at least tuck the info somewhere. Not that I'm implying that this phone absolutely does support it, as much as circumstantial evidence would suggest. Only way to be sure would have someone with one of those devices that light up some indicator when it's supported test it and chime in.
I'm using Moto Z transmitting to Cambridge BT100, and the LED on the Bluetooth dongle blinks every 2 seconds. That means apt-x is ON!
