I recently bought a used LG G4 H81510h but it was in tip-top condition (although I only got the handset, nothing else). I have question/complaint. The phone is running Android Version 5.1 Lollipop with the build number being LMY47D. I looked at the specifications of the phone online and found out that it is supposed to get Marshmallow as well. But whenever I go to the Software Update section in the settings menu, it states that my phone is up to date. The person who sold it to me also said that he didn't get any updates by the time he had it. My set is not rooted and doesn't have it's bootloader unlocked or anything. I really want to updgrade, can you help me out here? I've tried the LG Flash Tool 2014, LG Bridge and the LG Support Tool but nothing worked for me. Each had it's own problem. The .kdz file (20A) doesn't install. Please halp, I'm primarily asking because I can't unlock the bootloader either, the OEM Unlock option in the Developer Options doesn't work no matter how many times I try to enable it, it stays disabled.

LG G3 cat6 F460k model. hi guys. I just received a brand new F460k and i am not able to update it to lollipop. When i go into update center and then phone version update, after clicking on check now for update, it gives me an error "update service is limited. Please contact lg service center". I am currently downloading the lg pc suite. I have attached the software information. Also, I put up in India and I don't know whether that's the problem as my G3 is Korean variant.
Also lg pc suite, but it gives this error "cannot run upgrade. Check phone status and retry". Is something wrong with my device?
Can I flash F460k lollipop kdz manually using download mode
But if I do so
These are all LG Korean refurbished phones.. But they don't support it and not licensed to sell in korea. That's why e-commerce sites selling these phones with deep discount. But I wonder can I able to flash lollipop kdz file manually. If I do so will it affect SIM lock or SIM network read issue?
It's going to download mode when pressing volume up button while turning on and I downloaded lollipop kdz for f460k. Can I go-ahead and flash it. Or it will give boot up or hard brick. It isolleh . Thank you.
Flashed F460k v20c kdz lollipop everything fine and i rooted using one click root.Is there any custom rom available for lollipop as of now. Or i will downgrade to kitKat by flashing kdz and root and recovery andis there any lollipop custom rom available from stock kitkat. And by the way still automatic download not working same error when checking for new updates. Planning to go back to kitkat stock and install any custom lollipop rom available.. Olleh is having annoying bloatwares in korean language to get rid only i need to go custom rom.
hello guys,
i purchased my phone through Amazon, H815, but it's a TWN version apparantly,
it's stuck on V10b, and i tried manually checking, even with LG mobile support tool, and it still says no update for me.
any ideas?
I have an unlocked US H815 and I'm still stuck on VX10b too. Kind of irritated I don't have a stagefright fix yet.
isnt there a manual option to download the file and somehow install it, without a root\recovery of course
Multiple threads little to no replies besides sensless info that ive already tried
CAN TOT METHOD WORK ON TMOBILES VARIANT G4 AND IF SO WHERES THE LINK FOR THE TOT FILE NOT KDZ!
Tmobile g4 forum is helpless after days and 100s views
this is my last hope. I Have a tmobile lg g4 model. I hapened to relock the bootloader while i was still on a rom and rooted with twrp, but i do have download mode and only download mode .I dont have a bootable o.s
Ive tried and tried and tried to get lg UP Tool which is a joke its not really a true unbrick tool cause if you bricked yourself on a rom and not the stock firmware its useless .All you get is device model unknown. This is supposedly cause custom roms are edited. Lg bridge does not work as a brick tool either it just states wether your firmware is up to date . The only hope was lg flash tool 2014 but that im told and seems to be outdated not compatible with any g4 on android 6.0.... Im at a loss here i can get into dload mode thats it the phone charges in download mode also and it also is recognized by pc meaning drivers are installed because lg mobile support tool sees my device and says its up to date.
s
Some members have been in my same scenario relocked bootloader with a rom and twrp with nothing but download mode and swear they fixed it with lg bridge tool using the update recovery error link within the tool.
Can anyone confirm if im screwed or if i am doing something wrong this is day 5 now im ready to toss the g4 in the trash for the sake of my sanity.

Hi all,
Sorry if this is a noob question but I am completely new to LG. I have a second hand LG G4 h815v10h on android 5.1, and I want to upgrade manually since the OTA doesn't find any update for me.
I installed LG UP but after installing the phone drivers and launching LG UP, it shows me "model unknown" and I can't run the software because "You have to select a known model, please"
Here are my phone specs :
Model number : LG-h815
Android version : 5.1
Baseband : MPSS.BO.2.5.c3.00100.M8992FAAAANAZM-1
Kernel : 3.10.49
Build number: LMY47D-XT
Sofware version : H81510h
Thank you so much for the help !

You could check out this link: http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G4/H815/Marshmallow+6.0/
However, as the phone is 2nd hand, the ONLY way to be sure what actual model you have bought, is to open up the phone and check the model # on the motherboard. There are guides with pictures on the web to show how to do this: https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/LG+G4+Teardown/42705
You could end up bricking your phone flashing an incorrect kdz for your actual phone model, so better to be 100% sure, first.

Thanks for the answer.
After looking for the model number, I found out mine is F500L, even though I have h815 installed
Also, LG Bridge managed to find an update : F500l30B but fails to install the update everytime.
Aaaand another problem is even though I want to flash the phone with adb, I can't unlock the bootloader because the box "Allow OEM unlock" in development options doesn't want to activate itself. Grrrr...
Any other clue ?

You could try using LGUP-NEW (https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803) to flash using the upgrade mode but it might be better to use the refurbish mode with the same android version you are on now and if successful, then use the upgrade mode to install the newer android version.
However, it looks like whomever you bought the phone from might have converted to H815 following this guide:
Lg G4 F500L - Fixing and Converting to International H815 Model at https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-f500l-restore-signal-flash-815-t3214574
I would type in "go back to F500L" in the search thread box there first, to see what other members have had the same issue and whether they were able to do it successfully etc.
Hello,
I am the owner of K10 2017 M250N, however LG Bridge say's that it is M250E. I have tried flashing the firmware with the use of few applications such as LG UP, LGFlashTools both versions 2014, 2016. and LG Bridge.
All those methods have failed I have even tried to change the kdz files while the LG Bridge was downloading the official firmware for my phone, however I DON'T WANT IT AS IT HAS A LOT OF BLOATWARE.. As the LG Bridge never had a problem with installing the firmware I couldn't replace the KDZ even when I changed it name to the official one.
My question is, is there a way to flash different KDZ from the same phone, region etc ??
All help is appricated,
Thank you.
