I bought a T-mobile Z2 Force from eBay and it's on the way to me right now.
I have to say I was too excited to get A z2f before I carefully study the post of how to unlock sim lock. I've been searching solutions after I won the bid. It worries me right now since I am not sure whether I can unlock it to other GSM networks (I'm outside of US with no tmobile network around).
Can anyone share some idea please? Anything will be good, thanks.

I just went through this whole process. The easiest way to get an unlock within a reasonable time frame, is to activate it on TMobile prepaid, and add $100. I'm really thinking about going on a social media campaign against their unlocking rules. They are completely unnecessary for devices purchased outright.

About how long did it take?
So I have 4 days left to return the At&t phone. I went ahead and started a $100 prepaid account and selected the $75 data plan with unlimited everything. Does the account balance need to be $100 or the account plus plan count?

It just needs to be you added $100 to your initial start up cost. So you went to say Walmart and bought the Sim card there. You activate it then put in $100 then that's in. Use the phone for a couple days then request an unlock. That's why people have done on T-Mobile customer forums for the past 6 years or so.

$1. Just needs to exceed $100. Since you didn't buy a kit you need to add $1. I think the lowest you can add is $5 though.
Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
The lowest is $10. I went ahead and did that and called T-Mobile. Now I just have to sit and wait. If this doesn't work I'm going to be pissed.
The device is listed as a return therefore ineligible to be unlocked. Anyone on T-Mobile want it?
I have a SIM card that will allow a Tmobile phone to be unlocked. Has the $100 prepaid balance. Ill sell for $50.
My previous device had a strange issue with the IMEI, so I returned it. TMobile customer service says I am absolutely eligable. Device just needs to be paid off and come up as clean on T-Mobile's esn check.

That's odd. If it is marked as return I think someone may have bought the promo sold one and returned the other instead of both. Then sold you the other.
Check with T-Force on Twitter and see if they can give a better explanation of it.

your device must be fully paid, & you must have been a customer for at least 45 days.
if you satisfy those requirements, you qualify for a free unlock from tmobile.
otherwise, head on over to cellunlocker.net

I too will be taking this phone internationally. My phone is paid off and I have been on the prepaid for 6 months but post paid for 4 days. I wonder what tmobile will do with my request.
I bought a new S4 at full retail price from T-Mobile. I am travelling to Europe next week and wanted to get it unlocked. I tried to get it unlocked by chatting with a rep online and they said I had to be a customer in good standing for 40 days ( I just switched over from Sprint) and that they wouldn't even bother submitting the unlock request. This is NOT what is says on their website (see: support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1588) Their website says that if you pay full retail price you only need to have an account in good standing to unlock. Based on what the website said, I went to the store, they took a look at the website and called up the unlock team and submitted an unlock request. I was supposed to get a response from the unlock team in 24-48 hours, but 96 hours later when I had still not heard from them, I just used cellunlocker.net. 10 mins and $24 later I got the code.
One thing to note: cellunlocker.net gives you a bunch of ways to enter the code, but the only way that worked for me was to insert a different SIM, so if you do get a code from them you may want to make sure you have access to a SIM on a different network.

As I mentioned, I paid full retail price for mine. If you read the rest of that page there is a section for people who paid full retail price. There is no 40 day requirement in that case.

I'm getting a free Gear VR as well. But, I didn't change any of my information to do so. All I did was submit my claim for the Gear VR and I was approved. I know Samsung had problems with the Note 7...but I just didn't see it as necessary to cheat the system. Enjoy the VR, though. I'm certain that I will.

Good to know.
It was a chance I didn't want to take, so I did much unnecessary CYA.
I've received the SD card and the Gear Fit 2. I'm going to give this a go with the exchange receipt and see if it flies.
I don't see where a Gear VR was ever offered with the N7. Does anyone have a link? I only see the SD card or Fit.
Anyway for international phones, such as the FD Duos version, to get a gift? I tried once back before the recall and it didn't except my IMEI number.

Photoshopping the receipt is a big nono to me. That is morally wrong with it. But enjoy it. We only get a 128 GB SD card if you pre-ordered it. If we are lucky, the phone will become for sale at the end of November. Perhaps we get a free fire extuingisher with it.

Really guys? .. photoshopping the receipt to be eligible for rebate is fraud.. mod should close this thread.

As one of the millions who received a recalled Note 7, I was curious if I could somehow score a second promotional item with my replacement device. My first prize, the 256gb SD card, arrived within a couple of weeks. Upon receiving my replacement Note 7 yesterday I went to the Samsung Promotions page and entered my new IMEI and WiFi MAC address. Then there's the required upload of the receipt of purchase. At this step I feared that Samsung may catch me double dipping if I submitted the same receipt, as T-Mobile does not give a new one with the swapped unit. As a T-Mobile customer, this paperwork is called the Jump On Demand EIP finance contract. I imported my PDF contract(TMO emailed to me with the original unit) in Photoshop and changed the date to yesterday's date, then switched a few digits of the contract number. Lo and behold this worked! Now I get a GearVR too!
Enjoy, my fellow nerds.

The promotion is not over, it is valid till 10/9.
I did this with my replacement Note 7 using the PDF EIP receipt from T-mobile. I didn't Photoshop anything and included the new IMEI and selected "other" for phone instead of S7/Edge.
If you look in the terms and conditions it mentions that the note 7 is included in this promotion. Perhaps they didn't want to highlight this fact in the promotion due to the recall? Anyway it shows that my claim is processed successfully!
And we in Europe get ****...
I applied and selected other as my device since the note 7 wasn't listed. It let me get to the email verification stage. We shall see.

I don't know what the hardware differences are between the different carriers' models. Can I use either of the bootloader-unlockable/rootable variants (Sprint or T-Mo) on Verizon?
Failing that, has anyone started a bounty to get Verizon rooted and/or bootloader-unlocked?

I started one for Att but have since given up and switched to Sprint. So far I regret nothing. I guess being the two biggest carriers Att and Verizon have a little more push on what manufacturers can and can't do.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the T-Mobile model will work if you're lucky/patient enough to get it unlocked.

From looking at the spec sheets only the Verizon version will work on Verizon. All the other versions doesn't support band 13 by model numbers that in itself gives Verizon the power to block it even if you hack to unlock band 13.

Freaking Verizon really pisses me off, because I'm kinda stuck with them...
I've been with them for about 11 or 12 years or so and I'm grandfathered in on a very old unlimited data plan that's pretty cheap by today's standard and this being a flagship phone and all...
Anyway I had the pixel XL first and returned it because even it was locked down and got the z2 force just because of the moto mods.
Yeah VZW kinda sux...

The problem is OEMs. They don't want to put in band 13 on all their devices. If they did then Verizon has to comply with Block C rules. Since OEMs don't want to pay for licensing and put in code that Verizon has to open source. They would rather have Verizon pay for it then that comes with restrictions.

It will be SIM unlocked BUT you will have to pick a carrier and it will have the carrier goodies built in. There's no unlocked one without the carrier bloat and built in features. You have to pick Verizon to get it on Verizon iirc, but anywhere you buy the Verizon version it's unlocked anyway.

The best LG V30 deal so far may force you to make the OLED TV jump, too
https://www.phonearena.com/news/The...e-you-to-make-the-jump-to-OLED-TV-too_id99850
Buy two LG V30/V30+ phones -- or even a V30/,V30+ phone plus LG TV -- get $400 back.
Starting November 16th, LG will take up to $400 off the price of its flagship*V30*or*V30+phones, if you get them together with another LG product, too. The deal will come in the form of a V30 price rebate, and is seemingly valid for most everything LG has to offer, like OLED TVs or washers, but even air purifiers and TONE audio products.

Yes, T-mobile version would work. Various carriers and retailers are listed if you go to that link.
The problem we were worried about was how to "buy" the open market version (from say, B&H) with this promotion since it ends on December 2 and the US998 phone won't be released until December 5. If "pre-order" counts as a purchase, then it might still work.

when i had to register for my Daydream View Headset I had to input my IMEI number as well as provide a receipt with purchase price and IMEI number. If you do not have the phone in hand I'm sure you won't have the IMEI number either.
so...you might be out of luck

I wonder if you could just get away with an electronic receipt with your name somewhere on it...

Sorry to be that guy, but I read the fine print on LG's website and it mentions that if you get your second phone through a buy one get one free promotion it does not count for the $400 rebate.
However, when I purchased my LG V 30 plus and the second one from T-Mobile over the phone last night the representative told me that I should receive two separate transaction receipts so I'm going to go for it and see if I can get the $400 rebate anyway, since hopefully they both will not appear on the same receipt.
Why is everyone saying u need to buy two?

Because you need to buy two LG devices. Not two phones, necessarily. I even re- posted someone's screenshot a page or two back.
See the red border below.
It's up to $400 if you buy two devices.
First device has to be bought by December 2. 2nd device by 45 days later.
From the article I posted in the op, explaining the deal:
LG is taking up to $400 off the price of its flagship*V30*or*V30+*phones until December 2nd, if you get another LG product within 45 days of their purchase, too. The deal will come in the form of a VISA gift card mailed to you 6-8 weeks after redemption. This goes for most everything LG has to offer, like OLED TVs or washers, and even air purifiers and TONE audio products,

Last day to make a purchase to qualify for this deal! You have to buy the 2nd LG product within 45 days, but the FIRST LG product -- like a V30 -- has to be purchased by December 2.

The best LG V30 deal so far may force you to make the OLED TV jump, too

Buy two LG V30/V30+ phones -- or even a V30/,V30+ phone plus LG TV -- get $400 back.

Yeah, I'm actually contemplating just buying a $400 TV in case they are to deny my 2nd V30+ purchase. Better safe than sorry. I'd rather lose out by actually gaining a TV, instead of losing out all together.
LMAO... I try to buy the phone and see this...
"Checkout will be available at 5:45pm ET Sat night (in 7 hr 32 min)
Thank you for your patience while we observe Shabbat. You may still add items to your cart or wish list to check out later."
I hope I can still remember to buy this later today and it's still qualifies for the $400 rebate.... anyone know the exact cut off time for the rebate today?
Already experiencing hardware issues with the display of my Note 10+ Unlocked 256GB Aura Glow that I bought directly from Samsung.com.
I received my device Aug 21, and two days ago 2 green vertical lines appeared on the left side of my screen, right where the screen bends. Never dropped this phone, just appeared when I was checking my emails. The vertical lines do not go away when the screen is on. Even went in the boot menu to clear the cache, and the lines are just constantly present. (Picture attached)
Getting the run around from Samsung that's super disappointing. I called Samsung.com first, and they were wanting me to send my device in so they can try to repair it. Leaving me phoneless for up to 10 days.... Since I traded in my spare phone, Note 9 to get that 600 discount. I told them that's unacceptable, then remembered I also purchased Samsung Premium Care. So they told me to call them, but mentioned I may have to pay to get a replacement on a frickin phone not even a month old... So I called Premium Care, and they are unsure of the situation, and have to work with Samsung.com in getting this defective device warrantied.
So they gave me a claim # and told me they will contact me in the next few days with a plan... I'm so disappointed with Samsung over this situation. Just wanted to share this info in case this display issue happens to someone else. Will update on how Samsung is going to take care of their defective device.
Anyone else have experience getting their devices warrantied when purchased directly from Samsung.com?

I'd go through whatever wireless service you're using like T-mobile, Verizon, etc, talk to a supervisor if you don't get anywhere with a regular representative....and see if they can do anything. It's so damn ridiculous what you're going through. If your mobile provider can't do anything, then I would call your bank or whatever credit card you charged through and file a dispute against the charge, tell them what all is going on and that Samsung refuses to do anything and send the thing back and then go get one at Best Buy or something. I've heard nothing but horror stories with Samsung.com and going through Samsung to buy directly from them.
OP purchased the phone directly from Samsung.com, as stated in the first sentence. How is the carrier involved in this? I would call Samsung, speak to manager and request new phone be send to me and return old one after receiving replacement. I would probably give them my CC as a warranty that I will send the phone back, instead of keeping both. Another option would be to buy some cheap phone (I've seen some for less than $100) and use it as backup. I keep my old Note3 as a backup for years and actually needed to use it on at least 4 different occasions and it still works great. The last option maybe look for Samsung store or service place in the area and deal with them in person?
Thank you for the reply. That's a good idea, return it and buy one from Best Buy. I really wish I kept my Note 9, I did wait until the last day to mail it out just in case. I got the unlocked version since I'm in the process of switching from T-Mobile to Spectrum Mobile because they use Verizon's network and it's only $14/mo if I go by the gig since I tend not to use much data since I keep everything downloaded on my phone. Especially since T-Mobiles network is unbearable in my area. I will give Apple credit with being able to just walk in the store with an issue.
I use to run Google Nexus devices until Pixel came out with their subpar 1st phone. I was so pissed I bought a iPhone the next day haha. When I had hardware issues they just swapped my iPhone. However I got tired of them after a couple years and missed android. So I went Note ever since without any issues until now (N8 & N9 were flawless). My Grandma is still using my Nexus 5 (LG), and my Mom is using my Nexus 6 (Motorola) still today. Sorry for the ramble lol.

Thanks man, I totally forgot there's a store near me inside one of the Best Buy's. I'll stop by and just see if he can do anything. Yeah may just need to get a cheapo to use, depending what I hear back from Samsung Premium Care.

Going to Samsung store is probably best option, because he can verify right then and there the phone is defective and needs to be replaced under warranty? But I never had warranty issues with any of my phones, so no personal experience in "how it should work" against "how it actually works"

Yeah definitely, I'll post back what I find out. That would be so nice just to swap out on the spot. I also found out I have a authorized repair shop in my state of Ohio. However it's like 90mins away... FML haha
