Hello all,
My Pixel XL randomly started resetting on its own and then gets stuck in a bootloop. It used to reset 1-3 times a day a do this (Its been going on about a week now), but the last couple of days its been doing this several times an hour. I can get it to stop the bootloop and finishing turning on by pressing the power button a bunch during the loop, but it will shortly reset and start the bootloop.
I can't even power my device off, because before it can finish powering down, it will reset into the bootloop. I have contacted Google, and they weren't much help. They said they can send me a new device, but it will be a week or two. Any suggestions on what I can do in the meantime to try and fix this? I've already done a factory reset and that did not help.
Thanks!
This keeps happening to me. Any luck finding a fix?
Same here. I updated to the latest patch a few days ago and now my Pixel (not Pixel XL) goes through bootloop a few times a day...
I've had similar issues with my Pixel XL recently. It started with a random reboot, after which it just ran really slowly, with apps telling me they weren't responding or the whole thing just freezing up. Shortly after that it went into a boot-loop (boot, input PIN to unlock, screen freezes, auto reboot, rinse/repeat).
For me, a factory reset would solve the issue for a couple of days then it was back to the same problems.
I returned mine to the shop this weekend, and they have sent it off for repair/replacement; in the meantime they've given me a basic Android loan-phone.
Sorry; I'd like to tell you I had a fix for this, but I just wanted to say that I too experienced this issue and simply took it back for replacement/repair. I guess it depends where you bought it (I got mine SIM-free from a shop in the UK) for them to offer something else to tie you over.

So I've had my GS3 since launch, about 14 months. Up until Monday, everything was working fine and I had been through a dozen ROMS. Sometimes things would get buggy, I'd flash a new ROM and it would all be great again.
On Tuesday I noticed that when I'd go to use my phone it would not wake up and need a hard reset. As I went through my day I noticed it would randomly freeze to black while being used and require a hard reset to get going again. It probably went through 20 random resets throughout the day until I had a chance to flash a ROM in the evening, thinking everything would be fine.
Flashed the new ROM, noticed almost immediately the freezes were still going on, tried searching various forums for a fix and couldn't find anything that sounded like this problem. I did check through the Ultimate GS3 freezing thread and Ultimate GS3 Sudden Death threads, but neither seemed to have the same problem. Finally I decided to try the dummy file generator described in the freezing thread and after a while it gave a FC. I tried to run it again and it would not run properly, I cleared the data/cache for the program and was trying to try again when the phone froze for the last time.
It is now bricked, it will not hard reset, respond to battery pulls, respond when charging, boot to recovery, nothing. Can't be detected when plugged in to a computer and I will be taking it in today to see if it can be repaired out of warranty. I doubt anyone here can help with fixing the phone, I just thought I should post this so other people might find it if they suffer the same symptoms and can share similar experiences.
Hey, everyone. I know this issue has been reported before, but NONE of the solutions are working for me. Perhaps I just have a bad Nexus.
I received the device for Christmas and it has worked perfectly fine. Super fast, fluid, responsive. Then, suddenly, I was using the device and it randomly rebooted. I thought, "whatever, this happens to all devices at one point or another". But then, after I turned it on, it got stuck on the Google startup screen for at least 5 minutes. I decided to restart and try again, but this time, it got stuck on the google screen, rebooted on its own and got stuck on the google screen again, repeating this cycle over and over.
So I went into Recovery mode to wipe the cache and do a factory reset. Not even this would work. The factory reset worked, but when I started up my tablet again, it froze at the Google screen. Eventually, it would just continue the cycle of freezing and rebooting. This is ridiculous. A brand-new, unrooted Nexus 7 on 4.4.2 should not be completely unusable. My warranty is up on the 18th, so I will probably just return it, unless someone has an idea.
Thanks.

That'a your best option. If you haven't modified it in any way then use your warranty.
I agree. Since you did not root it, there is probably something wrong with your tablet and you should get it exchanged while you can
Sent from my Nexus 7
I am going through the EXACT same thing and no one has been able to help.. What I did to fix it was re-flash the 03.15 bootloader and that allowed it to start. I think there's some tablets out there that "don't like" the new bootloader included with the KitKat update and I'm glad to see that it's not just me... At least you are able to return yours. I purchased mine back in August last year
Ok, just want to know if anyone has any experience with any of these tabs exhibiting this behavior. I bought my wife a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 (SM-T310) WiFi only. Soon as I got it I updated it to the latest factory version (4.4.2 I believe). Then when rebooting I noticed it would just keep going through the initial boot logo, black, and then the boot logo again. So I presed the power button 10 seconds then it booted fine. When using the unit sometimes it would randomly reboot. SEEMS like when turning the unit back on from sleep mode often. I did a factory reset on it via the settings the first time, but same problem. I did a second factory reset this time via the recovery menu, first wiping the cache partition then factory reset. I THOUGHT I figured it out that it was just the power button getting stuck because I was able to reproduce that behavior if I held in the power button when I though I just pressed it briefly normally. So I thought OK, this is ok I don't have to send it in for repair because it's just that the power button gets stuck sometimes. But then another issue appears. The display will get all lines in it without being able to read ANYTHING at all. Like there's a problem with the LVDS connection to it. I bought this from Newegg refurbished, but kept it away for over 30 days and gave it to my wife on her birthday. Now I'm going to try to send it in for repair/exchange via the 90 day refurbished product company support to some other company (http://www.consumerservicerefurbish.com/) but I was just wondering if anyone could chime in. I search here and google but couldn't find any mention of a corrupt display issue like the one that popped up last night. Really weird.
Mine from NewEgg works great. Definitely send it back. It has a hardware issue.
I've got a s8+ verizon and two days ago the phone just started bootlooping. Sometimes it will boot all the way to home screen and I can disable wireless, bluetooth etc, sometimes it hangs during boot.
I was able to do a backup of my photos, etc then a factory reset. It worked ok for a day then started doing the same thing again. The phone seems really warm at times when it's looping.
It was on stock latest OTA... Now I've tried several SamFail Oreo and even Pie and nothing will work. Even on Nuget rooted it hangs during boot. Phone's never been dropped or exposed to liquids. Case all it's life.
In the last few weeks my normally totally reliable Pixel 2 XL has started switching off or restarting. It never happens when I'm using it and it's always when it's in my pocket. It can happen if I have full charge or anything inbetween. The phone is now just out of its 2 year warranty period and it's highly probable that the issue is down to the battery needing replacing. I've tried factory resetting but this hasn't helped.
However I was wondering if there's an application that I can pull logs from it to see why the phone is switching off and rebooting? As once I factory reset my phone it just installed all my old apps, so if one of these is the culprit the problem will still occur.
Thanks.

This has been happening to me too!
Especially when inputting Wi-Fi passwords.
As an update to this, my phone totally died the other week. I can just about get it into the Android boot screen when holding volume down and the power buttons when its chagring. But if I select retart or developer mode it flicks on the Start up splash screen and then powers down. I now can't even sell it for spares or repairs as I can't factory reset it!
In the mean time I've 'borrowed' a crappy works phone and I'm impatiently waiting for Google to release the Pixel 4A.
