So last night I installed Oreo from the official google release. https://developer.android.com/about/versions/oreo/index.html
Today I'm struggling to hear phone calls from the actual phone (as in the other person talking on the phone). I haven't tried earbuds or anything else yet. The ringtone and notification volumes seem a little weaker than the 7.1.1 stock I was running. Everything is at Max...
Has anyone else witnessed this issue, or is losing your hearing another post-eclipse side effect?
Strange, I haven't noticed this. I took the OTA
huh....seems same if not louder to me actually.
i installed manually with the image and no sound issues
Yep I have stopped bothering to mention these because my expectations have become incredibly lower from these so called upgrades, but yes, earpiece volume in call, ringtone volume, both are lower than 7.1.2, 100% certain about that. I make a lot of phone calls so it took me only 1 minute to notice. Well done Google. Loud in call volume was one of the better things for this phone.
No OTA, full image flashed with wipe here.
check that its not trying to play sound through a connected bluetooth device, when i upgraded it was send mine through my watch had to turn off my watch and reboot then the sound went the the phone ok
I received oreo via ota, and no issues here, try reinstall the img!
Well, I guess I'm just getting old and can't hear anymore.
*Damn kids on my lawn
Oreo call volume is extremely low. Tested it alongside of my wife's pixel running N and you can really hear the difference.

so i stated above i didnt see a difference BUT today i did start paying more attention and so maybe someone else can test this but i use mine for work all day so i get a lot of time for calls on it and although my volume appeared to be set at 100% if while on a call i push the volume up it appears to get louder.
so i guess

With the World Cup in full swing, I'm urgently looking for an app for WM simiar to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6815141#post6815141
the thread you linked to has just an mp3, not an app. to set it as a ringtone, copy it into the windows folder on your device memory (not sd card). you may have to reboot after this but then, it should be an option for setting as ringtone or alert
EDIT now that i think about it, you may have to convert to .wav or can use the mp3 trimmer app found on most ROMs
oh sorry- didn't see that it was just a mp3
I am actually looking for

Haha, class! Can't wait to annoy everyone at work with this. Thanks

It doesn't work on my Blackstone
After blowing the mic I get the message my phone is not supported. When I quit the app, the volume has gone to silent. Am I doing something wrong?
Are you blowing straight into the mic? (note you must blow BEFORE tapping Ok)
Eventually I passed the mic-check, but I don't hear anything while blowing in the mic.
Tried it too when tapping my finger on the screen while blowing, but it won't work
Still the volume is switched to silent after I close the app. Tried 1 to 5, no difference.
so neither sounds when tapping? I guess there is something wrong with your volume. In my case it reverts to my previous volume when I quit...
I just briefly tried it and it worked the first time on my Blackstone.
I really don't understand.
No sound when tapping either. Installed it on internal storage and storage card, no difference.
I've played music in the background while running the app and I can still hear it when tapping the screen. Still no vuvuzela-sound though. When I quit the program, the phone switches to silent-mode.
Really strange.

So indeed there was a problem on some ROMs maybe...
I installed CM 11 VILLUMINATI a wile ago and everything was great, until i made a call. i would speak to the other end for a few minutes and suddenly they would stop hearing me as if i touched the mute button. i made sure that was not the case...it wasn't. i made sure the volume was all the was up thinking maybe that had something to do with it but it was max. finally i shouted into the mic and that worked and i was able to finish my call. i thought it was a fluke but then i received a call and the same thing happened to me, i had to yell just so the mic wouldn't turn off. i went into settings for the phone app and turned off background noise reduction and voice privacy (whatever that is) but the problem continued. i found that switching to speakerphone will keep the mic on and heard that switching to and from speakerphone also works but that is kinda annoying. i flashed MoKee thinking that it was a problem with CM 11 , that is the ROM i'm running now. but i still have the problem. on the Mokee forums i read that if i flashed the Extreme Kernel it might help so i did, it didn't. reading further into the thread it seems the Kernel is more trouble then its worth. i thought maybe its a hardware issue so i downloaded a voice recorder app and had a mock phone call for about three minutes, not once did the microphone cut out. iv tried re flashing dirty and clean to no avail. i just don't know whats going on iv hunted in the forums and have found no answer. most seem to not have the problem on the same version as i or others. i would post in the ROM thread but this will make my fourth post and it seems there is a minimum number of post one must make to be able to do that so im posting this here. in hopes of a work around...a fix..or at least a link to a thread were some helpful info would be.

So this is a bug just with...whatever isn't TouchWiz. yea i don't know much about any of this.
I'm experiencing a similar problem. Did you find any resolution?
This is one problem which seems to be driving me crazy. There is a rhythmic disturbance while calling which the other person on the call seems to hear. I'm using 3.2.1 on OP3. It can be reproduced by:
On call + connected on headset
The sound comes when the screen is on
The sound turns off when the screen is off
The issue does not arise if headset is not connected
Rebooting did not fix the issue.
I was able to reproduce this by calling my secondary handset.
I was able to reproduce this on multiple headsets.
Not sure if sharing the sound can help debug.

I thought this was my headphones issue . im also facing similar issue. call quality is ok if i remove the headphones.
Phew!
It's sadistic but I am actually glad I am not the only one with this problem. Hope it's a software issue though and that it can be patched soon. Getting the phone replaced will be really painful. Didn't know though that the noise goes away if screen is off.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I spoke to the "experts" at the oneplus call centre. Made me clear the cache although not before suggesting that I use only the Oneplus earphones or jbl ones. I use senheiser so... Sad to say clearing the cache did not help. (Not like I was expecting it to!).
Same problem here.
Used many earphones but same issue. The listener on other side of call complains abouts strange noise made during the call while using earphones. Should i send OP3 for repair?

(fix at end of post)
Problem:
Hello, so this is my biggest annoyance with the Robin, which I have been using for about 6-8 months now (and recently FINALLY was upgraded to N).
My problem is that, with any bluetooth device (speakers, headset, car head unit), there are only two styles of volume. This is likely caused by Bluetooth absolute volume (or synchronized volume). I don't know how to disable this without root.
1-3 is VERY quiet, I can barely hear it at all.
4-10 is VERY LOUD, I can't even wear my headphones and listen to music.
I mean, 1-3 goes from like 1-2dB, and then 4-10 jumps straight to 90-120dB. There is no middle ground, and it doesn't help that every bluetooth device now pairs with the volume control, too. I can't set one setting on my phone and fine-tune the volume on my device like I used to be able to a year or two ago.
I would like to listen to music using my phone again, but this is making it impossible..... I don't want to root this phone as it's a work phone and the stock robin android is very good, so I won't be able to manually adjust volume settings (unless that no longer requires root)
Cheers!
Resolution:
Android N simply switched to absolute Bluetooth volume controls. In the past I only knew how to bypass this with root privileges, however my stock Robin OS now shows a new option in Dev options to manually disable Bluetooth absolute volume. Disabling this fixed all sound issues I was experiencing and increased the quality of bluetooth sound.

Wallpapers doesnt work
It's more laggy now.
I'm currently using the eu rom, is the image already available to download? (the global one I mean).
I got the same update for the standard global rom earlier (UK). Took about 7 min to install after the download. It’s early days, but double tap is better and the proximity sensor/call issue seems to be fixed for me.
It enabled a "super" wallpaper and reset the lock screen clock design, but everything else seems OK so far. No slowdown for me.
oh my, my battery is like a timed bomb. what the f word is wrong with this update.

Nothing is wrong with the battery after the update, mate. It is just that you're using the phone more often after the update that's why.
I switched to 12.5.1 because of the battery life on this build. It is just bad.
after update 12.5.1 i get deng sound when haptic feedback on . any help my friends ?
Anyone noticed a difference in volume after the update, I felt it is a little better before the update

wait, I felt like it was louder before the update.
and also the front camera in low light sucks now.
I have also noticed few issues at the control center
do you guys have the videotools box disappear? ?
Now on my youtube, it does not show the side videotools, complete gone
For me it seems to be working as before, does anyone have an extended changelog? the one from MIUI is... well... not too great.

My wireless buds sound louder at the same level of volume I used before the update. About the quality of the sound I can not say is better.....looks same to me.
It feels much smoother after the update, notifications for music bug from time to time and can't be cleared but it feels great otherwise. Haven't found any other problems.
Screen brightness is still "dimmer" until almost 80% of the slider???
I notice this in official ROMs and also with custom ROMs.
Is it a hardware "feature" or a screen driver bug?
