[ROM][H815] H-ROM G5 PORT [Full UX5 PORT - MM 20p - Stock Kernel - Magisk]

Well guys, after many hours of hard work I am proud to present here my first rom in XDA. A real PORT. A Full FRAMEWORK port, from lastest MM G5 Rom, to our beloved G4. Only limited by G4 libs and hardware. So here we go:
H-ROM G5 PORT
Full UX5 ported from lastest MM G5 Kdz
20p base with Spanish modem (march security patch)
Fully deodexed
All apps from G5
G6 ported weather
All weather animations in lockscreen
Stock kernel in permissive
Magisk 12 (thanks to @topjohnwu)
Viper4Arise (thanks to @guitardedhero and @viper520)
Lastest LG apps and GAPPS
Init.d and busybox support
Multiwindow and miniview included
KNOWN BUGS
GlanceView doesn't work anymore
Device can reboot if brightness is set with a high value Solved
Camera can freeze when taking pictures with flash enabled Solved
LGWeather G6 icon doesn't appear in launcher Not a bug

I know there is no weather app. But is there any option to add it because when I restart phone there is weather fc every time. Rom is fine with some little lags on UX. Good work

I haven't this variant. I don't know required files to make it working on this variant but I have a friend that maybe can make it working

Strange bug. Never suffered it. Clear weather data in settings -> applications -> Weather. For now you only can go into weather app through SmartNotice or weather widgets.
Yes rom is laggy but at the beggining when you are installing apps from PlayStore. After that I personally feel faster than G4 stock.

I have installed this software and constantly comes up on the Lg screen.(bootloop) problem...And It works little laggy.
I've installed it before ( SAURON MK I.IV) and 32-bit dac flag in notification bar.Can you port this ?
Another problem; I've done everything,erase system,cache,wipe system etc etc... But it's always bootloop.What do we do?

I reinstalled this ROM normally, but the Bootloop problem still continues.
How i solve this problem ?

The bootloop issue happens 10 minutes later the phone is turned on

to be flashed in recovery (it will replace stock camera) - compatible with all rooted LG G6

- all G6 features working
- all V30 new modes (except Cine mode*)

it may work also for other phones with some modding.
this one works only on Fulmics ROM for G6.

I added a check in code to let it start only on Fulmics ROM.
but as there are many people interested, #2 now is compatible with all rooted LG G6.

Copy pasted the app, cleared camera data, and modified the original g5 fulmics camera config XML while comparing it to the one from xpirit. Manual mods lack the record/shutter button,food mode obviously doesn't work,the grid like mods work,the rest are a bit buggy. But hey,at least it works partly lol.

Crashes for me on us997 AquariOS

In the future will it be possible to install this camera without root?

Only LG can answer this question with all certainty. If LG decides to port some of V30's camera features to G6 which I doubt it will, it won't be anytime soon. Don't expect cine video, cinelog like features to make it to G6. Those features will be kept exclusive for V30.

I would like to install it on Fulmics ROM 2.0.

Warning
Im not responsible for your data. Dont blame me if u lose it!
The prerequisite for flashing my Rom is Full wipe.
If u Dirty flash . Its on you!
Installation Instructions:
Option 1
- Format data
-Advanced Wipe - Wipe everything except efs, extsd
-Flash my Rom (Choose Aroma stuff carefully. Its different from other Roms- Those Debloat options are to remove. Not Install!)
-Reboot
-Setup the 1st Boot stuff.
-Reboot to TWRP
-Flash CSC
-Reboot.
-Done
Now encryption in your phone is removed!
Option 2: A select few users cant boot the Rom
Since Encryption removal script is causing bootloop in your phone. We will skip it for now
Steps:
- Format data
-Advanced Wipe - Wipe everything except efs, extsd
-Flash my Rom (Choose Aroma stuff carefully. Its different from other Roms- Those Debloat options are to remove. Not Install!)
-Choose No root Option
-Reboot
-Setup the 1st Boot stuff.
-Reboot to TWRP
-Flash Magisk
-Flash CSC
-Reboot.
-Done
-Encryption is still intact.
Option 3
Corrupted Zip File
I used heavy compression on the Rom to reduce its size.
So while Copy pasting some error may have occurred in your Phone or PC
I will use light compression from next time to prevent this issue!

Unfortunatly I followed every single instruction but I can't boot the ROM, I got stuck in the Splash screen .
I flashed it 4 times with different settings but always the same, I also tried to upgrade my bootloader : same result
it's strange because I tried with Dylan's ROM and it worked

A lot of people successfully booted the Rom and using it.

Hi, can somebody explin me foand r what I need encryption or no encrption support? I testted a new Oreo ROM and in TWRP the Internal Storage is not useable. Is this the problem? When I format the internal storage which data will be lost?

Same problem as with any other Oreo rom so far: Cant login to Samsung cloud, I get the message "Verarbeitung fehlgeschlagen" which should be "Processing failed" or something similar.
Also: Samsung Gear gets installed even when disabled.
Other than that: Great smooth rom!

The Rom is great. Works well. The only problem I have is the encryption. It is still on.
Steps I've made:
1. Format data
2. Full wipe
3. Flash Rom (in Aroma I did select Magisk Root and no BL/CP update)
4. Reboot & finish 1st boot normaly.

Excellent Roma.

I read somewhere that you can, but you wont have dual sim options. I recommend you to wait few more days, I think that Oreo for S7 started coming to devices officialy.

Sure, would be usefull :good: it's probably the future of custom rom, for the good or the bad ...
i just have read few articles for now, but I have not tested yet
if i understand well, when the device is not treble ready the most difficult part is to have vendors adapted to trebble, once you have the vendors, you just have to flash the GSI (only system), and then you will still have some issues with BT and autobrightness

Poll question is the same as post question in fact

Would be very interessting for me, cause I know to litte about it.

I am working on guide but it is more complicated that I thouht [emoji848].
I was thinking that from user side I knew GSI roms quite well, but new set of them ruined my knowledge a bit. More I use them less understand them [emoji19][emoji12]

Do you know how to get camera working on GSI?
I tried using Xperience and CosmicOS as base (on Oreo) but it doesn't work in any of them.
Learning how to install a GSI isn't that difficult (okay, you have to search a little until you find something, but there's information), but get hardware-related things working is the impossible part (really searched but I didn't find nothing about it).

Use magisk module Google_Camera_Fix-v4.
After use pls. report how it's work in your configuration :vendor+GSI

I didn't find the v4, only v1, but really thanks for telling everyone about the module.
I tested some builds of CosmicOS as vendor (including the last one available on its topic) with LineageOS 16.0 and ArrowOS, but camera wasn't working even with the module installed.
So I tried XPerience 12.1 (Oreo, the last avaible update) with the same GSIs and the module. This time the camera got to work, but NFC was dead (I'm not sure if the NFC problem is related to the GSI or vendor, maybe both?).

Yeah , but I must postpone this - I am a little bit fed up with GSI - nfc , BT work or don't work (rather not together) all the time problems also with adaptivebrightness .
GSI is for geeks only :/ not for newbies so for a guide is to early in my opinion .

There is significant advance in GSI development now - latest roms are usable on MZP [emoji6], I am testing two of them.

Does someone know how to fix the issues with BT and auto-brightness and flashlight after an update the Android 8.1 to 9 using the method treble? I added all files how was to explained in the tutorial..

Still all is messed up with gsi's on moto z play - most close to full functionality is OOS ver. 0.7 with xpe 13 as vendor but build 26/02 + Juniiim's patches -- still no NFC there and possibly buggy somtimes BT .
@Juniiim maybe it would be good idea to put your patches for gsi in this thread together with some info how to use it ? It is better to keep TeamMEX XPE thread clean .

Almost got it.. Gsi on Moto Z Play - Descendant TwoDotOne - Liquid Remix GSI (february build) .... I am making final tests day or two and if all will be OK I put here short guide how to setup...
So for now -- wifi , RIL (LTE+), bluetooth ,nfc ,gps- works

Android stock ambient display on Oreo?

Hello guys,
I am on stock Oreo, is it possible please to get somehow the stock ambient display instead of Moto display? I have read that on some phones disabling moto app will bring back ambient display, but it didnt work out for me.

I don't think that there's a way to have stock ambient display with StockROM by Motorola. However, most of the CustomROMs have this ability.

Each CustomROM that I tried had some bugs. Unfortunately, all of them had slightly disorted sound during a call in comparison with StockROM. However, these ones (mentioned below) are the best in my opinion:

I would recommend you to use this build of LOS 14.1, if you are interested https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GO7i7h1QQcD8oY3uUBr4a2u1gJzlRkzk/view. I faced a huge problem - apps like Snapchat, Instagram or Messenger started to freeze and force close randomly, but only with august 2018 build (the latest one). Reboot didn't help at all, reinstall of LOS or crashing apps fixed problem just temporarily. Flashing build from june 2018 (link mentioned in this paragraph) seems to be a permanent fix.
If you are running stock Oreo, you have to downgrade to Nougat first. Otherwise, your fingerprint scanner will not work with any Nougat based CustomROM (idk about Oreo ones ). How to downgrade a Moto device without getting hardbrick? It's simple - make sure, yours device's bootlaoder is properly unlocked. Then, flash everything except gpt and bootloader to avoid hardbrick while downgrading. Running "fastboot erase modemst1" and "fastboot erase modemst2" commands wipes IMEI, so exclude them also.

I have already tried this combination and there was no problem while taking photos and recording videos using Footej Camera.
If you decide to try this ROM with gapps installed alongside, follow this tutorial before the first boot https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5/how-to/how-to-repair-bootloop-oreo-roms-t3791189. Otherwise, your phone will be stuck in bootloop.

It's shame there isnt any custom rom with everything working fine. I think I will go back to Lineage 14.1 and then buy a new phone. Motos arent the same since Lenovo took them.
