Should I buy Wave 1 or 3 for Android? - Bada Software and Hacking General

I am thinking about buying a Wave flagship smartphone since I have only used the Wave 533 which is a low-end model of Bada 1.1. So nostalgia hit me once again and I have finally decided to buy a Wave flagship (I have money but I try to use them wisely) but I do not know if whether I should pick the Wave 1 or the Wave 3 since after buying it I will use Bada for awhile but then install Android on it. As far as I know there's no Android for Wave 3 even though hero355 uploaded a video with a Wave 3 running android and there's no Android 7 on Wave 1.
Leave what you think down below.
P.S. For developers: is the FOTA encryption that hard compared to Wave 1 that you cannot develop Android on a 5 year old device?

Need to buy wave 1 or 2.
If you want, I can sell you 1 for 30 euros )

[Q] Wave 3 s8600 + Galaxy S Plus ROM

Hey guys,
does anyone know, which CPU the Wave 3 has? The Wave S8500 Hardware was verry similar to the Galaxy S Hardware, but it was not the same..
The specifications of the Wave 3 and the Galaxy S Plus are the same. Maybe it's the same Hardware?
Maybe we have got already a good base for an alternative operating system on the wave 3.
best Regards
According to GSMArena, Wave 3 has 1.4 Ghz Snapdragon processor, While Galaxy S Plus has 1.4 Ghz Scorpion Processor. Most likely the GPU would be Adreno 220..but it may as well be the Adreno 205 as Galaxy S Plus.
Okay.. there is 1 Snapdragongeneration that contains "Scorpion" SoC's with 1,4 GHz..
Snapdragon S2:
"MSM8255T 1,4 - 1,5 GHz, Adreno 205"
"MSM8655T 1,4 - 1,5 GHz, Adreno 205"
Both of them are Scorpions... the Generation is called Snapdragon.. so the same CPUs in Galaxy W, Galaxy S Plus and Wave 3
I don't think that there is a driverproblem.. now we have a third phone, that is similar (not the displaycontroller and modem from Galaxy W)
EDIT:
Okay i c, this CPU is used in the most Samsung Middle-Class Phones:
MSM8255T 45 nm ARMv7 1.4-1.5 GHz Scorpion Adreno 205 Dual-channel 333 MHz LPDDR2
GSM (GPRS, EDGE), W-CDMA/UMTS (HSDPA, HSUPA, HSPA+), MBMS
Samsung Focus Flash, Samsung Focus S, Samsung Galaxy S Plus, Samsung Galaxy S II Mini, Samsung Omnia W, Samsung Galaxy W
This Specifications match to the Wave 3

ooOOooh, If that phone is running a Snapdragon it'll be similar to the current crop of sony ericsson phones and a lot of HTC devices... First things first, Whatever it is (SPC, MSM or QSD) check that damned modem chip and see if there are drivers for it :-D
Yeah, i would love to put my Wave 3 to tests if anybody starts porting Android on this one.

[Q] Buy the galaxy note 2 now or wait for the 3?

Hello
I'm kind of in the market to buy a new smartphone, but i would not have any problems waiting if something where soon to be out.
So my question is, should i get the Galaxy note II now or wait for the Galaxy Note III?
Any concrete rumors about the Note III, or any rumors about a release date? Is it going to be fall before we see a new note?
Oh and one last question does the Note II support USB OTG?
Thanks

Don't expect the Note 3 to be released until Q4 2013. The Note 2 does support USB OTG.
I would recommend you buy the Note 2 now unless your current phone is less than 1.5 years old.
Note 2 its just a key to the technology the best smartphone on the market.

There is no assured information on the Note III, all we can say for sure is that Samsung will try to make the Note III much better than the note II. If you're in a hurry to get a phone I'll highly recommend getting the Note II. That's the best phone I've ever used and I've used quite a few including the Galaxy S III.
Yes the Note II has USG OTG
I currently own a Note II and and like it very much. If the Note III turns out to be much better than the note II in certain ways, I'll be getting the Note III too.
Here are some features that are expected to be improved in the Note III.
1. Better resolution screen, maybe 1080P
2. Better camera, maybe 13MP
3. Better and faster processor, likely the Exynos octa
4. Hopefully they make a 64GB and 128GB internal storage options available.
5. I'm also hoping they will redesign it and make it look more premium
6. Expect updates in the software department with a lot of improvement on the current features and addition of new features
7. Hopefully much better batter life (the Note II currently has the best battery life of any smartphone I know of except the Razr Maxx)
As to when it will be released, not one really knows for now. I imagine if not delays ensue, it should be released any time from the 2nd to the 3rd quarter of this year.
If you play the "wait for the next model" game, you will never buy a new phone.
Get the Note 2.. You will not be disappointed..
The note 2 is one of the best devices you can get right now in terms of screen size, CPU/GPU speeds, Innovative and usefull features an functions like the Spen and its apps..
Get the Note 2 now and sell it when the Note 3 is released that's if its worth upgrading when the Note3 comes out < Thats what I'm going to do... Plus high end Samsung devices hold there price well

This and also, I've read somewhere (sadly don't remember where) that there wouldn't be much differences between the note 2 and 3, slightly larger screen size and a few minor improvements but nothing big really. At least nothing that will render your note 2 obsolete.
Two rumoured release dates for killer Note III
I’ve read two lines of rumours for the Note III release date: one would be the expected release time about 12 months or less after the release of the Note II. The release date is likely to be announced at the Berlin IFA in September.
The other line of rumour, which I even read late in 2012 is that Samsung was pushing the Note III release date early in 2013. IBTimes.com has this to say today “Samsung recently tweeted that the Galaxy Note 3 official release date will occur during the annual Mobile World Congress this February 24 through 28 in Barcelona, Spain.”
I would wait until that event is over to make your decision. I am (and S IV memory size as a predictor).
I’m personally waiting for a 64 Gb or 128 Gb internal memory model. If the Note II had that, I would have bought it already. If the Note III still doesn’t have decent memory, I’ll may buy a cheap 6’’ quad core Chinese knockoff for around $250 and wait for the Note IV. I’ve read sad rumours that Samsung is going to stick to the current 16 Gb or 32 Gb memory sizes for the S IV and Note III. This is surprising because Samsung produced new 64 Gb and 128 Gb chips late last year. (I’ve read the 64 Gb Note II sold briefly in Korea had technical problems, it didn’t sell well too for poor Koreans).
The Note III is rumoured to have a 6.3’’ screen, two quad cores for performance & considerable battery saving, and a bigger battery anyhow. Samsung also have stated the S IV and Note III will have the best camera ever on a phone. It’s a big chunk, that wasn’t ready for the S III and Note II. The Note III will be a killer – if it has big memory. Yes it will be worth waiting for.
Wait if you not in a hurry. Else get Note 2 now.
Same here, buy now---think later.

It all depends on whether you can hold on to a device even after a new and better version of it comes out. If you really like the Note 2 just get it. The Note 3 will be amazing mostly... and all of us will be tempted but not all of us can shift devices. Technology is so advanced when the Note 3 comes out, and after 3-4 months of using it, there will be rumors of a Note 4 or maybe even better.
Personally I am going to stick with the Note 2 for a very long time. The perfect device at the moment - for my needs atleast.

Bought note 2 two months ago and I never looked back since then. Best buy I made so far regarding cell phones. I'd suggest u buy something when u need it. Postponing purchase based on whats coming wont make u happy really for in the end of the day even if note 3 comes out tomorrow u will still argue with urself if u should wait for the next note 4 and so on. And again u will know that all u have will be maybe less than 8 to 12 months before the even newer model comes out. Meantime while u will be in anguish of what to do and when to buy, which model, those of us who are lucky enough to have this brilliant smartphone will be happy owners and feel joy with our device.
Best regards.

Every day you wait arguing with yourself whether to get it or wait, you are losing its novelty. Get the Note 2, and use it enjoy it and you can even wait for the Note 3 while you're at it.

Is it safe to assume that Samsung will continue to improve battery life on the note 3?

It is my assumption and understanding that mobile phone manufacturers always try to increase battery life based on the current technology available.

galaxy note 3 n9005 , note 10.1 2014 edition , does they worth ?

Hi everybody
i think it's time to change my lovely little xperia play ,
after 3 years with my dear , it's hard for me to say that i want to buy a new high-end (( really high end )) phone . on my opinion , note 3 n9005 is really attracting me ...
i like to play games with physical H/W , but unfortunately , after 3 years , i can't wait for sony anymore . plus , i'm tired of SONY-MOBILE too cause of so many lie and broken promises (( on xperia mini , mini pro , play , play station certificate , display downgrade on xperia z1 ... ))
the real point that attracting me is soooooooo many software improvemeny on samsung note 3 and note 10.1 ( 2014 ) edition !!! there is so many option on the setting that you should spend 2-3 hours to check them
and now , what do u think , does the note 3 and note 10.1 2014 eition worth to buy ?
they dont worth in our country now
it will cost lower than 2mil tooman soon so i will say dont buy it now
and nexus 5 is coming soon too
and as you know nexus devices are much more smoother than all of the sammy devices and long term update support is great too

thank you mate
but i think note 3 is more powerful than LG-nexus 5 :
13 mp camera 2160p - 8 MP 1080p
1080 x 1920 pixels, 5.7 inches - 1080 x 1920 pixels, 4.95 inches
microUSB v3.0 - microUSB (SlimPort) v2.0
Li-Ion 3200 mAh battery - Non-removable Li-Po 2300 mAh battery
...
but i'm still confused , what should i do ??!! should i waiting for next galaxy series ( for wifi charging technology ) or not !
We all need a great support for our phones
Nexus devices have amazing support + amazing price+ great hardware
Sammy devices have good support + high price + best hardware
If i was in.your sittuation i.would buy nexus 5 because the os is much lighter and smoother

[Q] Any news about Android on 8600 ?

Hi,
Recently, I got a GT-S8600 (Wave 3) with Bada 2.0 but... You know, Bada isn't the best OS for a Samsung's phone, so, I want to know if there's any news about Android port on a Wave 3, you'll maybe tell me Wave 1 and Wave 2 isn't stable but, really... If anyone can work or can tell me how to port Android for Wave 3 it'll maybe beautiful. I want it so much to really test the Wave 3 performance, and with Bada I can't do it.
So, if any of you have somes news about it...
Thanks.

One ui 5 for all note 10

Hi guys.
The Note 10 series is already in quarterly updates except for the lite model.
The reason for this thread is to make a joint request to Samsung to consider that the update to android 13 is not limited only to lite models.
A petition was created for it and all those interested in participating with their signature are welcome.
Thank you very much to all.

LOL, try smacking your head against the wall instead. This has been a constant thing since the dawn of Android.
Samsung WON'T upgrade the Note 10/Plus to Android 13 simply because it will bite into their sales....
They want you to get a shiny new toy, not play with that cruddy old thing you have now, and not supporting newer Android updates with all the nifty new features on your older phone is a way to make you upgrade...

It was released later.
Yes, it came out later but as one more of the note 10 series. That is the reason for the request. I understand Samsung's update policy but we are not talking about a single model, we are talking about the top-of-the-range family in its day. The stupid trend of releasing 20 models under the same name. Then these things happen and people get angry and rightly so.

Lol, why care? Android 13 might be worse than 12 especially for the Note even if Samsung did do it
I'm still running on Pie on this N975U. Current load is over 2yo, still fast and very stable with minimal maintenance. Security is not an issue... what's not to like?
Upgrades and updates can and do break Samsung's. No plans to touch my firmware as long as it's fulfilling its mission.

I respect your opinion and the decision not to update. It is true that Samsung is not always right with its updates and personally I think that one ui 4.1 and android 12 ruins the phone, it does not run smoothly, it has excessive battery consumption among other failures. But, did you try one ui 5? I'm running the beta on my s21 ultra and I think it's one of the best updates I've tried in years. Without being a final version, the improvement is very remarkable. This is another reason to ask Samsung to update all Note 10 series models. Forget one ui 4.1 and its bad optimization.
Salu2
Edit.
I want to emphasize that the only thing that is required is a signature. As written in the petition, it is completely free and donations are not accepted.

Thank you. I've seen Samsung upgrades/updates break phones too many times. Any improvement that could be had by upgrading be marginal at best with my N10+'s and more likely would be detrimental.
I have two N10+'s, one running on 9, the other 10.
That's what they came loaded with. I think the Pie variant is the best of the two. Never used Android 11 or 12 because I have severe doubts about scoped storage. Don't want it.
Be interesting to see a side by side performance test between 9, 10, 11 and 12.
At this point both Samsung and Google Android are completely off the rails. No desirable new flagships from Samsung and Google is still chasing down endless rabbit holes making their OS less functional and the user a slave to cloud apps/storage. Sorry, but I see no point in even trying to reason with either company.
No Sale, they both can just f-f-fade away...

Hi.
Did you read the petition and the messages? The note 10 lite is the only one that will receive one ui 5. The rest, 10, 10+, 10+ 5g will not be updated. The signatures are few and they increase very slowly and I don't know the date of the update for the lite models although I am sure that when people start to see the great improvement that android 13 and one ui 5 supposes the signatures will increase rapidly.
