Hi there,
I have problem with smart cover for my s4 mini. I just switched from stock rom to CM 13. It's running and looks great, but i cant find a solution to bring back smart cover. It was awesome feature, but looks like CM13 is not supporting it anymore by itself. I tried to find an app on google store - there was something like S-View, but it didnt work and the rest of them is for turn on/off screen. The thing is cover IS turning screen on/off, but there is no special screen with time, notification, music info.
Also - i can't find NFC icon anyware. Is it still working?
You can use SlimKat rom. It has smart cover support
Once you go Android 6, you cant go back.
So - NFC is not supported at all, i hope it will be fixed in upcoming releases. I didn't test nightly build (cuz i just started with android), so can you tell me if this is upcoming feature?
And about that smart cover. I noticed that apps i was talking about earlier - S-View for example - work with p-sensor, no magnetic sensor. It's kinda problem.
You know - power button can turn on screen with case closed ONLY with system lock screen, but... clock is just too low ;_; Any lockscreen from market just doesnt react to power button when case i closed. Is there any way to way to (restore from stock rom for example) and change system's lock screen? Or change the position of clock with some magic tricks?
Idk much about it but modder can help you

Actually at this point i don't know if even modder can help me I think it's impossible to write an app that will work 'above' default lockscreen. Also only this one works properly with magnet sensor - any other custom lockscreen won't turn on the screen with button, when case is closed.
I found a solution in xposed framework - i just moved clock in default screen to the height of window in case. It's doing its job. I also adjusted the dark overlay, so it looks almost like S-View - ofc without picking calls and notifications number (tho if there is any notification the clock is slightly higher - coinsider it as bug or feature ).
Here is a snapshot of my current lockscreen: i.imgur.com/RMhAvYf.png
The better solution can come from widget that will show clock, date, notifications, maybe even give possibility to pick up calls. It can be done by another xposed apk, that let you add widgets to your default lockscreen.

Brotha there is nothing is impossible u can mod framework and this will be more easy if u have guide ,and if u k is there mtk chipset don't have development like us they are modding/theming there ROMs and other user porting it to there devices
Specially for MT6572 JB
Well I got my mi6 today and I'm very happy with the hardware, but I can't use to use miui I think it's fast but it's to much customized, we have the Android naugat version with Almost no features from that.
We can't reply from notifications, we can't see who send us without use the 2 fingers that's so sad and so on.
Well if the miui continues like that I'm going to wait to have a lineage or I'll sell it. What do you think guys?
I just tried Floatify LockScreen. It draws over MIUI lockscreen and the pro version (about 2.5 bucks) will give you better lock screen notification management compared to Lollipop/Marshmallow/Nougat.
There are some notifications that can't be drawn on lockscreen however (i.e. Internet Speed Monitor and GSam battery monitor). In that case we just have to wait stock-flavored custom ROM like LineageOS.

That's not bad but it shows message on the lockscreen , do you know how to just show that I have a message and then to see I must unlock the mobile?

Isn't that the default way MIUI handle the notification? If you want it that way, why not use MIUI default? Maybe you can play with notification visibility? (Settings > Notifications & Status Bar > App Notifications)
My gripe with MIUI is that I can't see the chat message without pulling the notification shade out and 2-finger pull down again on the chat notification.
Is it confirmed that MIUI 8 is not a rebadged Android 6? Seems like there are loads of Android 7 features missing..... Thoughts?
Like most, I feel really empty without the LED.. I've been using, and have been dependent on the LED ever since my beloved Nexus One
and every Nexus/Pixel since..
Giving thanks:
Forcing us to pick up our phone just to see if we have any notifications is just uncalled for.
I want to check my phone when I want to, not because I have to.
I've tried pretty much every alternative out there -- they either didnt work how i wanted, or were just too ugly how they displayed the info.
Welp, enough rambling. Let me get to the point.
Lets us all give a round of applause to @grokus,
for providing us non-led'ers a true solution in the hell storm that has been created over this whole ordeal :victory:
He's been taking suggestions on what to include as well!
Behold, "Pixel Pulse"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.compass.pixelpulse
Description:
- Pixel Pulse uses the systems ambient display, in a VERY minimal, clean, efficient, time interval approach, to display whatever app you want to 'pop up'
- Pixel Pulse will 'cycle through' each app if multiple notifications are present
- Notifications can either be displayed as; icon only, icon + app name, icon + notification title, icon + title + content, or a mixture of all three depending on the app(s) you choose.
- Color choices, and more
How to use:
- Must have Ambient Display enabled. - (I just have the 'tap to touch' slider on).
- Have 'New Notifications' (Inside Ambient Display settings) enabled. - (This just allows Pixel Pulse to take over how to display the notifications).
- Battery Optimization (for this app) disabled. - (So the system continues the run the app without shutting the app down) ---- Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization > Pixel Pulse app > Don't Optimize.
- Go back into the app, set everything up as you like; colors, the time interval between pulses, what apps to display, how to display, etc
Going a Step Further:
- Once you have everything enabled you will be greeted with a persistent notification that displays "Pixel Pulse is Running". This notification will be present at ALL times; pulsing like a notification when the screen is off and in the notification drop down. Lets get rid of this (look at the next line).
- Settings > Apps & Notifications > Pixel Pulse app > Notifications > uncheck Pixel Pulse is Running > Enjoy :good:
And there you have it! Enjoy your new LED notifications haha  -- Cant wait to see future development.
Thanks so much for the mention! I'll subscribe to this thread so if anyone has any issues or requests feel free to post them here.
I came across this a few days ago and even donated to get the pro features but for the life of me couldn't get the repeating pulse to work. It would show when I got a notification but then never repeat no matter how many seconds I set the interval to so I just gave up on it.

After reading through that thread, i believe he fixed it sometime last night.. I pulses for me fine.. You might give it another go and see
Yeah for some reason I still can't seem to get it to work. The notification shows up one time and then never reappears. I have the interval set to 10 seconds just to test and nothing.

Yep, ambient display is turned on (tap to view) and set to wake screen with new notifications. Have Pixel Pulse enabled with notification access, interval set to 10 seconds, apps configured and timeout set to 0.
I think this one would be a better implementation for notifications because it does a light ring around the phone AND a pop up toast for the app.

Don't have DND on and made sure to disable all battery optimizations so that wouldn't affect it either. I'll keep messing around with it though cause it seems like it's just the app I'm looking for at least until OnePlus implements an AOD or someone makes a working AOD port down the road.
This is pretty cool,I wonder how it effects battery?

Yeah it's working here. Tested it out. It was iffy at first for me too.
I would say go in and just toggle the settings again and then restart.
After I did that it's been flawless.

Absolutely!
However, if i may give one .. maybe two suggestions.. lol
1. While its pulsing, with hidden content.. Maybe remove the "pixel pulse" name and only show the icon itself? thatll clean it up a bit more i think.. (also: when new message is received, the content still displays, but then 'goes away' and continues to pulse without the content -- is that intended?).
2. When you have multiple notifications; gmail, sms, etc .. maybe have the notification cycle through each app every pulse? (first pulse could show the sms, then the next pulse, gmail, etc..) Or 'stack' them (maybe 3 at the most?) on top of each other while it pulses? .. So you get to see all three apps at one time? Or a combinations of those if you have multiple notifications from various apps? ..
Hope i made sense :silly: -- i can elaborate if need be ha

Yeah for those I have a feeling the Pixel lock screen doesn't work like ours. So he would definitely need to detect the device that's being used, if he's not already.

I only have a Pixel to test on right now so please bear with me while I try to understand this.
I suspect that the first wake up might be your device's initial wake but I could be wrong.
I'll be adding a way to only show icons in addition to the hide content option (like the ninja mode).
On the pixel they do scroll through all current notifications each pulse. The pixel only shows one full notification at a time. What happens on your device? I can try other ways if you're willing to test it for me.

I'm liking this a bit better than a couple of the other apps mentioned throughout the OP6T Forum .
Your set-up notes in the OP got me to give it a look & once set-up & tested,I immediately went to this one as my go-to LED Notification replacement.
Those who choose to use this or any other LED replacement apps are going to see usage in the battery stats.
This may be near the top in usage,my suggestion is don't get caught up in the numbers, just use your phone as you normally would.
You may see less remaining at the end of the day vs not using it at all, but,I'm willing to bet it won't be close to a "panic" / "wall-hugger" level.
If this wasn't using battery/in-use,the next app or process in line would be showing the higher % use, hence the tail-chasing of the battery life discussions,LOL.
I recommend anyone give this a shot & support the developer if possible............. :good:

Perhaps check your battery optimizations for all of the associated apps, including Pixel Pulse. (make sure they're not optimized & are allowed to run in the background)
Sent from my SM-N960U using XDA Labs
Now it works, thanks a lot!
Edit: Okay, not really working. Sometimes it is, but most of the time it doesn't.
Hello folks
I am terribly missing notification LED. AOD ( Samsung ) is not for me. I do not want to see clock constantly or upon screentouch.
I found an app which in some way is substitute ( for me )
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tomer.alwayson&hl=en
App is highly customisable.
It uses AOD technology
You can make clock and the rest invisible so the screen is dark.
When notification arrives and you miss it there a pretty big icon appears on the screen ( size and brightness customisable ) and is moving around.
Maybe you will like it.
The AOD is not only just a "clock" it has more customizable options and you can make it exactly like the app you suggested does. Check your settings.

One workaround I can suggest is using the inbuilt theme that supports GIF and using a black image instead of a GIF.
However, you will still get a digital clock and battery percentage in addition to the notifications. If I come across a better theme, I will update it here.
There is an app for blinking AOD dot where You can define their position and "fatness"... But i can't remember app name
try AOE
There is NoLED apk LINK to download latest version v6.0.20 (it's a liitle older apk but working like a charm).
I am settled up for a white dot for all notifications and not for coloured icon...

So, i'm coming from a 6 and not having a notification LED sucks. Do you guys use any app for simulating a LED? If there was a way to put a tiny green blinking circle in the bottom, that would be awsome.
Thanks in advance.

I got my 7T yesterday was wondering the same thing, given that it's been a cornerstone of most every phone I've owned. So I did some searching around and found this, which seems to be working great, and is developed by an XDA member.

Looks great so far!
Although "Notify Buddy" is a very nice app and works on Oneplus 7T i found out that it has a quiet high battery consumption. There are two other apps, that worked fine for OP 6T:
"Plus Beat"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=vaf.vishal.plusbeat
"Pixel Pulse"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.compass.pixelpulse
They both need a workaround to be usefull on OP 7T:
- notification change to "important"
- enable popup on lockscreen
- disable "stealth mode" in app
Under this circumstandes they work fine!
Have fun with your new Oneplus!

I dont know another way. battery life is okay with plus beat, burn in depends on the frequency and time...
have a nice day!
Plus beat is much more battery friendly than nottify buddy.
There is no way to sey PB notifications to important, at least i don't see it. Android 10 on 7t here. But ir's working good with stealth mode disabled.
Not quite the same.. But I use an app called Glimpse, works perfectly for me, it lights the screen up when a notification comes In, I set mine to light the screen up for 30 seconds, gives me chance to read it unlike the oneplus light up screen setting which lasts for 8 seconds.
you can select apps for notifications.
you can set screen on time and you can set it to repeat alert until checked based on a time setting...
The app is light on background battery usage.
The app is also well supported on the Xda forums...
Couple of tips, turn off the built in oneplus light up screen setting or Glimpse will not work correctly.
Also consider turning off optimisation in the battery settings and locking the app, so that android does not close it down in the background.
The app is free and ad free from the Google store.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-glimpse-notifications-t3090575/amp/
I also use a xiaomi Mi band 4 with my oneplus 7t, I set my phone to silent, use the mii band app to send the watch notifications, via vibration from my selected apps, sooooo much better than the phone beeping loudly, it disturbs nobody, more zen like... Plus the Mi band 4 is low cost, very long battery life, Amoled screen, works wonderfully...
Plus the notification message can be partially seen on the Mi band.
Looks interesting. For now, plus beat does the job, but i would like for it to stop showing notifications after you see them in the status bar.
