Hello Guys
sorry for my threads i was changing my pc and completly forget about to comlete my projects but know there are several roms with android 7.1 like aospa or omni so there is no reason
i dont promise but if dumbs are leaked i will try to build a android 8 rom with a good friend of me ho knows more about this and if new flagship sony phone in late 2017 is released i might be in these threads as dev
THIS IS MOSTLY NOT A SOFTWARE PROBLEM (AND BATTERY)
So the thing is my phone was working a long long time with the same rom without any problems but after i let it 2 days without charge there was a problem i dropped my phone 1 week ago and since it was never fully empty
this time i needed to improvise after 1 full day to power this sh*t on i come to a result i go ´to a repair store
he took the back off and told me its not a battery problem he charged the battery sepperatly
he charged it to 15 volts and than it powered on it showed 16 % than after charging 2 hours 20 % after 10 minutes off using crashed
i took the back off and disconnected the battery and charged the phone THE PHONE WAS SHOWING CHARGING .... than i connected the battery to the phone again and its rebooted
wiped all off clear install stock rom ánd thAN AOSPA SAME
so there are two ways how the problem comes
1#
dropped phone damaged reader of voltage thats in the battery and its stucked at 20 % or only gets 20% but in real the phone is charging to full but crash at 20% weird
2#
reader of voltage on meinboard was partly damaged and only goes to 20 and i damaged something with my fingers so its stucked AT 20
you need to know that only the battery percentage indicator is deat and stucked at 20 whatever it shows % your phone is still charging to 100
there is no way to fix that sh+t
if your phone isnt charging over 20 (like normal charging 1-20%)(NOT like in the other case stucked at 20%) its a software problem.....

Well, doue to the fact that this is a new phone, I guess you have a warranty. Go and replace the phone, or leave it to their service. If not, try to do some calibration battery cycles.
i have an Ion, not an S, but i've had battery status issues pretty much since i bought...through the first 6 months i didn't really notice it, because i wasn't using anything with a percentage status and rarely looked in settings...I started using a battery widget after a while, and things never lined up...it would stay at 100% for 10 hours...then the phone would shut off completely dead around 35%...flashing different firmwares, rooting, clearing batterystatsbin, etc...nothing seems to do anything about it...
ACCEPT...there is one way that re-calibrates it every time i try...and i have no idea why...
if you turn off the phone, and boot it back up with no sim card...then turn it off again right away...boot it back up with the sim...its back to normal, but only if it was booted once without the sim...and remains accurate for a while...in my case, what often screws it up is charging the phone without the wall adapter...if i plug the phone into my pc to move some files or whatever, or use my car charger (in which i forget and have it plugged in, and stop/start the car a few times getting gas, etc.)...its off and i have to fix it by what i just mentioned...battery life has always been fine, its just the percentage has never been something to trust very much...
Hi, after 3 happy years with my xperia s, here it is a major issue. Three weeks ago, in the middle of a phone call my xperia shuts down (battery at about 85%) and no mean to restart, it was like dead. No led if in charge or connected to my pc. After three days, a friend opened the phone, pull of the battery, reconnected the battery and, here it goes, it started again. But, another issue now, battery drains at 10% each hour in stand by. I changed the battery with a new one, same thing, i had a hard reset, same thing. Battery status shows 30% consumed by the screen (but it was only 15 min !) and google services 25%. Anybody has an ideea how to fix it ? Thanks for your answer.
My phone keeps acting weird while charging. Some days I can charge it without turning it all the way off and other days doing that doesn't do anythng except slow the phones power loss. And other times if I charge with the screen off it'l charge to like say 27% then i boot it up and it says 66% then drop to 21% right away and after a reboot it'll say six percent and when i shutdown it'll say 13%. So my battery is just jumping everywhere and I was wonder what I could do and should I reset the battery stats. I'm running Maximus HD 11 but i had battery issues starting sunday when I was running cm 12.1.
I have the same issu with 12.1 ..i can not even charge sometime .. .the usb charge is someyime working sometime not working
try and reset the battery stats..
Hello Guys like me many of you have same problem with battery life, since i updete to MM my Battery start to droping very fast and suddenly die sometimes at 20% sometimes at 30% sometimes at lower %.
Something doing this we have lost all settings and after we boot the device again have to set up everything from scratch.
At the begining i was thinking my battery is DEAD and need a replacemant but in the past few months when i read hundred of Threads regarding this issue i realize it is not possible often after MM Update or flashed a MM ported ROM from HTC 10 this to heppans to so many users on the same time.
Ive tryed almost everything from fully Discharge to cleaning Caches Art etc and re flashing few times clean a new ROM nothing helps at all even some software for calibration make the things worse.
In this thread i found a solution given my HTC themself : http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/phone-loses-settings-apps-battery-dies-t3375980
And i did try it several times without Luck
I did keep reading and found out that really Holding Volume UP + Volume Down and Power Button did clean the Battery Cache but i was doing it all the time wrong.
What i did try is this:
Turn off the Phone lets says you have 40 50 % battery left.
Wait for a minute or two, then Press and Hold Volume UP + Volume Down and Power button for at least 6 Restarts, release the buttons when your device swtich ON after this 6 restarts and see your Battery %, usually what gona heppand there will be diference in the reading. ( When doing this DO NOT PLUG YOUR DEVICE FOR REACHARGE)
in my case doing that before the operation i had about 46% after that i have 55% this is the 1st thing i spot on.
After i did this, start using my device with heavy use and i saw the battery behave normal and the droping its not so fast like before in order to chek do i have any more wrong readings i decide to prepare the test again.
Switched of the Phone at 40% after all the restars and turned it on i had 39%
so i think this was normal and the battery do not have anymore any wrong reading %.
Start to use hard the device watching videos listen music 1st think i notice is the % are droping really slow not like before.
At exactly 15% Battery left i recive a Warning like it should be!!! (i didn`t recive any warnings like this in the past few months) then i keep using it hard and waited the battery to drop even more to see whats gonna heppand.
Well at 5% all was perfectly fine NO restarting at all.
At 2% i put my device for reacharge and after the full recharge to 100% now seems the battery to HOLD really Good 24 hours latter with intensive use of the device the % are droping really slow like it should be.
Now its seems that all is fine.
Try this and report back.
Its important DO NOT PLUG THE DEVICE when you doing this! Its make SENSE even if from HTC says PLug it ON (DO NOT) because when you cleaning the Battery Caches you want it CLEAN not on the same time that power from the charger to reach your battery this can lead to wrong INFO again so its really make sense you have to do it without to Plug in order to see the real % you had.
Later on i will make some screen shoots to show you how the battery Hold after this procedure.
its seems now i lose 2% per 1 hour in standbay witch is PERFECT for old device.
I've also had this issue. Didn't know about the volume button trick. Well now its too late and the battery is totally shot I think and won't even turn on or charge. Don't know what to do about getting all.my unsaved data off the phone. Was wondering if it would be possible to temporarily hook up a battery from my old m7 just to get the data off my m8. Anyone have any input on this? Is it possible to just temporarily connect an m7 battery to an m8?
Good lord..
I have the same issues for over a year now, so I had to test it out.
Before the restarts my battery had 52%, now it has 13% (battery saving mode is enabled, something i havent seen for years...).
I hope this problem will be fixed now.
I will give an update after a couple of days to see if it actually worked.
I'm running lineage os 15.1 oreo with sense.
Thanks anyway!
I held it for 6 restarts but it didn't turn on automatically. I had to let go of the buttons. Battery dropped from 69% to 48%.
Held it for 6 or 8 restarts and dropped from 40% to 18%, hope it will make a change. Thanks for the guide!
Update to my previous post: Battery lasts a longer, but dies at 22% percent, guess its the problem in the battery and cant be fixed via software
Did you guys get successful preventing sudden phone-off?
I recently bought this device. It was already updated to marshmallow. I did the volume button thing, at first htc's way. Then I saw this way and tried that. In the very next boot, everything is okay, battery drain till last drop. But in subsequent boots, problem reappeared . I tried wiping cache partition with twrp. But the problem comes again. Did you guys get it solved 100% in one time? Did I miss something? Or is it like me everywhere ?
Why do it at 40-50%?
Very odd ever since the phone died since it was really cold out ( i left it in car for a few seconds and looked at my phone and it was dead ) its been shuting off or dieing around 10% left but drains normally. but can still turn it back on once its plugged into a wall charger. so im not sure on what to do cause i mean i only had it for a year now.
it happens with mine too, 2-3 weeks ago.
I had 40%+ and after few sec, was dead too.
I turn it on with 1% battery lol
was thinking of letting it die once then letting it cable charge not fast charge saw a video for an older phone to do that with some call code to reset the battery gauge

I have the same problem since a few weeks.
The percentage drops from 15% to zero.
Mine was a bit different, I was in 13% and then when I plugged in the cable to charge my phone, it showed I was actually in 6%. My friends, our phone is aging
Since it became cold outside I'm having the same problem
Yes
I had this problem with my Galaxy A5 2016 and now with my Galaxy S9...
Never go under 10% if you can't charge within 1 minute or better less. That's why I have a battery case.
So I think I fixed mine a video is for a note 4 ut I think it worked for mine also. Make sure your phone is almost dead and turn off fast charging then go to the phone dial up (built in app) and dial *#0228# and click the quick start (this will restart your battery gauge) let it die then charge to full might take longer but it's worth it.
