Android Oreo (8.0)

I think our beloved moto z play will sooner receive the major update which is 8.0
This site confirm, lets hope motorola will give as quick as possible :laugh:

It's just a forum and the user copied that list from one site and pasted to the forum.

Yash is right, that's just a c/p from a post elsewhere.
If it were an official announcement from Motorola, it wouldn't be hidden on a forum, it would be on posted to all of Moto's social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, MySpace?)

No matter if it is false info or not. Anyhow, Moto Z series will surely get 8.0, just the time of arrival isn't revealed!

Yeah may be around 1 more year before it comes. But any ways still lovin the performance of my mzp upto this point.

O doesn't even have an official name yet and the pointless articles are already rolling in.

They are just rolling this for user's excitement

Someone asked @Moto_Support on Twitter if they know an ETA. Let's see what or if they respond.

Well, looks like the Oreo update is the first one I really don't care of - none of features are desired by me, none is "killer" one, I really wandering why they give that update whole new number instead of 7.2.x. Marketing all the way...

Which I don't like - I use Nova launcher with Pixel Icon pack, which perfectly suits my aesthetic taste - all icons are rounded

I'm happy with android 7.1.2, because it's stable as hell. But now android 8.0.0 is around the corner. It's very fast. New system again. It's ok, so long to do the update is not a big deal. We will see in few months

I'm waiting on someone to build it, I want snoozable notifications for when I'm watching Netflix or gaming. I want the pip mode too.

One person in the live-stream-chat of the O-event said that android O is just for 64-bit. But that's not true, right? Ok, Z Play can 64-bit, but it's not useable so far, right?

the Zplay it's a device from 2017, maybe in 2018 (Q1, Q2?) we got AO Soak Test, but it's time to wait for the official news of Lebobo/Motorola.

Oops. Did not know it was an old news as the MIUI website thread was written few days before.
Since it was there for 2 months, how come no experience cook interested to build one or port other ROM for Mi 8SE?

Look like we had to wait for some time before it picked by an experience cook to produced any custom ROM for us.
Or maybe they are waiting for the Android pie source code before spark the stove?

What does this mean? Why is there no MI 8 custom ROMs yet? Am getting worried that this phone will have lack of support... did I mistakenly buy this device thinking there will be great support for Custom ROM?

I dont think mi 8 source code is out. Hopefully it comes out soon. I was hoping for a decent amount of third party roms and mods with this device. Going from a Oneplus device to xiaomi there is much less than the OP6 had in the first week of it coming out

Interesting.. The kernel source pointed out that this phone uses EAS instead of the archaic SMP. Battery life must be superb. Thinking to pick one up.

It definitely helps with the general smoothness, it's the qcom version of EAS which comes with SD710 if I'm not mistaken. Both the Mi 8 SE and Mi 8 have it so you can't do wrong with anyone of them and the SE is currently the absolute best at the sub-300 Euro price point.

What is the GPU frequency.?I think we can overclock both CPU and GPU.Qualcomm has undercloced the soc otherwise it will beat SD 835

I know I'm no dev but my take on future custom ROM is because pie have better support for notched screens and also current lineage os is not compatible with notched screens phones atm. I will stay patient for a pie release

Samsung Experience ROM for our Mi 6? Possible?

is it possible to have samsung experience rom for our mi 6, just like there is Samsung experience rom for redmi note 5 here

It’s an extremely hard and pointless process, if you like samsung new software (as i do) i would recommend you to check out the new m devices

It's kinda hard to get samsung rom on sagit. The best bet is to try to make it by yourself because its not like aosp and can be someone who will want. And you can try to contact the dev from redmi note 5 and maybe he can help you with info.
But, if you want you can try some launchers and icons from store and see how it is. Or maybe there is a substratum theme(require substratum support) for Samsung Experience too.

Would really be nice if someone else could also want it and build it.

I would suggest to buy Samsung bro, until n unless u r looking for performance. This device is keeping me not to change/sale coz of the performance and battery performance and the battery charging.

Thanks. I sold my s7 edge for mi 6. I am not regretting. It has been more than a year now with mi 6.
But i am just curious if something samsung could be done on this device, i t will be fantastic.

bro its almost 1.8months I am having this device, I kept usually two to three devices after switching to mi6 I sold my other devices, which was big mistake, apart from Samsung I got way better experience from Mate 9, I wouldn't have sold until I saw the specs and switched to mi6.
Anyways samsung wont contribute anything except the Devs who can solve but chances are 1% may be less, the device is old and there is no point of putting Samsung rom on it. If R u worried abt the themes ? if u r u can use miRape to install incredible themes from miui official forums. I am doing the same until n unless I get the proper bug free Rom and improved camera.

I am using gcam on rooted miui 10 stable. It works just perfect.

Go to the main post of gcam and open first mega link. Then download the app, and modules.

Its correct though. Their commitment was to roll it out until April 15 we will receive it in the next 5 days or so.

yeah, we informed that those 3 phones will get Pie update on April 15. but its too early for max pro M1 ang max M2 to get the Pie update.

We'll see it in the next few days.
And its not too early. Android Q will roll out and be released in august or september. If anything else, android pie for this smartphone is long overdue.

The User Experience is not the smoothest I noticed, Pie of Nokia 5.1 is way more smoother than this one. The overall experience still feel a bit unpolished. As far as UI goes, the corners are again not smooth like they were in a previous Oreo update (specially around the notch), for some weird reason there is circle witht the Pie navigation gesture pill, the launcher is not same as Pixel/Android One, apps such as Digital Wellbeing are not present nor is available to download). Plus point, Google camera is still working, the display and camera are lagging during video calls (just tried on WhatsApp for now). Will add a few more points as I notice.

They already have a port for an S9 and the S10 we need one for the Note 10 please everybody's been dying for it

Project Elixir plz

Resurrection remix or android ice cold project hands down. If I have to give up my camera for not using one UI I want something with better options and more features because gcam is a big step down from standard Samsung camera and I haven't seen anything really worth the loss in the note ten note 10 plus development. Hell I've only seen like 2 or three mods of oneui so pickings are slim. If your gonna a take a crack at it shoot for the stars.

i have built spark for all s10/note10 but am updating it right now spark has customisations etc, right now it's stuck on February patch, but it uses grapheneos camera, I'm gonna aim for this to be out this week

I'm not sure if Ivan is working on it but he made it work on s10 hoping he will get it out, I'm waiting for one ui5.1 myself so I can mod it and add a lot of features to it customization etc

Yh he ported one ui 5.1 on S10 few months ago. Let's hope we get it.

What is the outlook for any sort of bootloader unlock / root for the D2Q, aka Qualcomm US Variant SM-N975U1? What's the max bootloader upgrade to get a lock code these days? I've been fighting off oem security patch updates for a minute, since last time I checked they said I was fxxed... Lol.. Any direction?
Also, I have a rooted C2S, SM-N985F, running a custom TWRP with Magisk, and was wondering if any decent ROMs have been created yet for this one? I know wrong thread, sorry, but I'm reaching. Thanks for all you guys do, I'm a noob, but you guys are my heroes and I aspire to someday be able to be a part of this resistance! Lol.
Another project of mine, Jkruse' S5 Exploit is working great so far, but I'm just dipping my toes into this so far, not using it for anything besides a hobby, but not entirely against the idea of swapping it out for my e'ryday phone. So, I reading this is V7a Arm 32? I upgraded from a Stock Marshmallow to LineageOS Android 11, this is where it gets confusing as to which OpenGapps I should be flashing... Any direction in that area? I tried the V7a, which failed, so I'm thinking I should have grabbed the 32 instead? I was looking into NikGapps, BC that worked perfect for my C2S running Tiramisu, but all the mixed OS's and Architectures and Arms, plus Android Versions are still a bit, okay a LOT confusing for me.
