What is the phone model? And what's the carrier country? You never stated. There's no G3 model that supports every/all freq

It should be compatible then. Where did you buy the phone? New , used? Referb? Are you fully sure it's a D855? These phones are sold referbished everywhere with wrong model parts inside.

So he used the phone on the same carrier?
Cause if it only works on 2G that sounds like it's not an actual D855.

Only other thing would be the SIM card.
You have the network settings set to GSM/WCMDA/LTE correct?

what are the main differences between G Nexus GSM USA and Italy? network would be the same... have i problem to use an USA G Nexus GSM in italy?
There's no difference in the radios, only in the software support due to regions.

The hardware is the same no matter what GSM model you buy. The firmware and radios can be slightly different depending on where it comes from.
In practical use, they're the exact same. The difference is that Google updates directly the "yakju" and "takju" models directly. Samsung updates the "yakju**" models that come out in different parts of the world. These updates are slower.
But it doesn't matter what firmware you have. You can flash stock Google firmware ("yakju") to any GSM model. It takes a few command line prompts and about 20 minutes to do, then you get the updates directly.
So, if i flash a rom the difference "disappears"?

Something like that. Or you could flash a stock Google build i.e. yakju. In reality there is no real difference between the builds apart from when you're getting the next update.

Yes. The hardware is all 100% (effectively) identical. Any GSM custom ROM or stock Google firmware can be flashed on them.

No difference, and you will not have any problems. A 'google' android 4.0.2 is the same as a 'samsung' android 4.0.4. The difference is that 'google' updates quicker to newer updates, while 'samsung' takes longer. I had a 'samsung' version and just swapped to a 'google.' I haven't installed any custom ROMs...

Hi guys, I'm going to buy a galaxy nexus from USA to Italy. does anyone know how to unlock it to make it work with other SIM? I do not care warranty! thanks guys
If you're buying one for use in Italy don't get the Sprint (toroplus) version as it won't work on a normal GSM carrier.
Make sure you get the GSM version (maguro). And I don't believe any one of those is Sim locked.
While T-Mobile version?

As long as it's GSM it should be fine.

I do believe that the T-Mobile version is the standard GSM model, so it should work without problems
Hi everyone:
Im thinking of migrate from Note I to Note II. Im from Argentina and i have the possibility to buy a Note II in Miami.
My operator here is Movistar Argentina and the question is, are many models of Note II? here i must use the gsm chip.
Are there any model of Note II without the operator sim that obviously i must not buy?
Thanks for who can answer.
Regards.
Just make sure it's GT-N7100.

Mhhh, sorry i think that my question is not right.
When my brother lives in EEUU, he has a Phone (simple phone) that has Mobile line but without simcard. He cant change the mobile line, because there no simcard. The mobile line cames with the Phone.
Because im thinking to buy a note 2 in eeuu, i dont want to buy a device that cant use in my country. Then, there are any model of note 2,without simcard but with mobile line built in? That obviously dont work for my and must be care to dont purchase it?
Thanks again...

I do not know of a galaxy model that comes without sim slots. My guess is that thr simless phone is not a smartphone? It used to be like that in my country as well but sim cards had to be used once smartphones were introduced.

I was searching for the 32gb + lte version and I saw the samsung official site Latin America (where this version is sold) and they reports this version model number as SM-P605M so they added a "M" to European 4G model.
Reading the specs I noticed the European version has the same hardware of the "M" version.
So since I'd like to buy that M model I'd understand if something changes or if I could root it with SM-P605 method or flash SM-P605 roms.
Has someone the M model?
Inviato dal mio SM-N9005 utilizzando Tapatalk
I live in Brazil and bought the 32gb LTE version. Using it for a couple days and noticed occasional lags even with the theoretical faster Snapdragon.
I also own the Note 8 with Android 4.2.2 and it has a far more fluid experience, everything feels snapier. I think the cause of the 10.1 2014 lags are simply poor optimization.
The Note 10.1 2014 seems extremely bloated, and for now I'm stuck with the MJ6 firmware. I don't want to loose warranty because of knox. I'm still figuring out a way to update the firmware to a newer build, but can't find roms compatible with the 605M. Looked for official updates at Sammobile but for this model there are no new builds.
I read somewhere in the forums that newer builds for the 2014 edition are lag free. Also the 2 second wake up lag are gone.

yes they have different 4G specs.
Italian/EU: (800/850/900/1800/2100/2600 MHz)
Brazil: (700 / 850 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600 MHz)
So i got this moto z2 force from a guy, it is on t-mobile's network. IMEI is clean, t-mobile checked and said this phone doesn't belong to there network anymore. The guy who sold me said it is unlocked. In past of all the phones i bought, whenever you inserted a non-default network sim card it would ask you for a unlock code. On moto z2 it doesn't ask me any code at all when i insert ATT sim card, i did try to reset network settings but still dind't detect. Would like to know if others have experienced this on unlocked phone.

Are you saying you put an active at&t sim in the phone and it doesn't work? Or are you only saying you put an inactive one to test it ?

You don't have to put a Sim in or have a code. You use their unlock app which is preinstalled on the phone.

Maybe you can try and call T-Mobile and see if they paid the phone off before selling it to you. If it's legit and paid off maybe they'll be nice and unlock it.

Sounds like it might be a Craigslist type deal and the guy is stuck with the phone as is. Maybe if the IMEI is good he could at least sell it for what he bought it for or close.
I don't think it's as simple as an APN. I feel like most phones have that sorted out automatically these days. A Verizon prepaid Moto E will connect to TMobile automatically without APN settings. Its not like it used to be.
Sounds like he just got screwed. I suggest for Craigslist deals or things like that you test the sim before you buy.

Appreciate everyone's concern. Should have specified more details. I am currently using MetroPCS on it, so yeah I can use the phone , plus the price that I paid for the phone was very good. I am thinking to get it unlocked I will get t mobile prepaid and add $110 , use it for few days and then try to get it unlocked.
Takes more than a few days i think its 90 days but not 100% on that

Your friend would need the phone for a couple of days on his line if the phone was never used. It will not unlock automatically without that.

Contacted t mobile thorough Twitter chart, was very helpful. Got $110 on the account, unfortunately TMobile couldn't unlock it because they said when they try to unlock it says it is not a TMobile phone , basically they told me whoever sold the phone probably didn't purchase from them. I am looking other places to unlock.
Finally got my T-Mobile phone unlocked by unlockunit dot com. costed me $70 and they did it in a few hrs after ordering it. Worth the money for me.
