Hi everyone:
Im thinking of migrate from Note I to Note II. Im from Argentina and i have the possibility to buy a Note II in Miami.
My operator here is Movistar Argentina and the question is, are many models of Note II? here i must use the gsm chip.
Are there any model of Note II without the operator sim that obviously i must not buy?
Thanks for who can answer.
Regards.
Just make sure it's GT-N7100.
GT-N7105 is the LTE model.. make sure it's avilable in your country

Definetely go for the N7100 as they have more developments and also it works with or without a simcard same as other models.

Mhhh, sorry i think that my question is not right.
When my brother lives in EEUU, he has a Phone (simple phone) that has Mobile line but without simcard. He cant change the mobile line, because there no simcard. The mobile line cames with the Phone.
Because im thinking to buy a note 2 in eeuu, i dont want to buy a device that cant use in my country. Then, there are any model of note 2,without simcard but with mobile line built in? That obviously dont work for my and must be care to dont purchase it?
Thanks again...

I do not know of a galaxy model that comes without sim slots. My guess is that thr simless phone is not a smartphone? It used to be like that in my country as well but sim cards had to be used once smartphones were introduced.

To get 3g you cannot use T-Mobile I would recommend getting a straight talk SIM card that uses att network. Or any other non T-Mobile prepaid plan.

Just buy a prepaid sim that uses AT&T towers and put it in your phone. That's all

If you need to use your original carrier whilst in the states the only option is to purchase an international plan from your original carrier. I remember sprint offered it as an extra 30 a month. But you only paid when you needed it.

This is your best option then. Call your carrier and ask about international plans.

Yes, but you would only be able to use the SGH-T989 and the SGH-I897 because the other 2 are CDMA, or no SIM CARD. The two I said can both be used because they have SIM CARDS. I am currently using the SGH-T989 in Israel because i moved here and I liked the phone i had in the USA. I just unlocked it and then I was able to get 3G, HSPA, HSPA+. In other words, yeah, you should be fine if you go for the GSM (SIM CARD) ones.

Yes. If you get the T989 call T-Mobile and ask for the unlock code. If you get the other one call AT&T and get the unlock code.

I don't know if my method works all the time and if it's safe, but with GalaxSim Unlock, an app made for SG S3 (S3 has a very similar hardware it seems), my Note 2 N7100 is unlocked....
Maybe contact the author of the app on the market.
My carrier branded one was unlocked already. Worth a try.

Here is the thing.
I had N7105 unlocked by a box(no other unlock suchs has APK unlock was able due to a diferent knowe arquitecture, i have been told) (not even GalaxSym ..--emailed the programmer--..)
The problm is that 4G doesnt work in other operator than the one that came with the card (they both support 4G and are 4G sim card)
The phone came with TMN operator, i am OPTIMUS(aka orange) user....in TMN instantly 4G boots up...change to OPTIMUS sim...NOTHING...3G or 4G.....have to go to APN, choose one and activate manually(if i dont activate it wont work), then....set APN to standard setings(if not it wont work)......all those steps just to get the 3G working......reboot phone and all those steps all over again to get AGAIN 3G.....4G forget....
And the TMN APN is editable if i choose to....OPTIMUS no...greyish settings uneditable....
The phone is stock rom rooted.
Any help?
(the phone is in Portuguese...) I described the steps has more similar has i could.
Tried using GalaxSim just recently myself. Says, "Unable to read NV data" and all of the details are undefined. Using an AT&T Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-i317).
I flashed the fully stock rooted ROM posted by MrRobinson (doesn't trip the flash counter or interfere with OTA, just adds root). Checked and confirmed I'm rooted (TI Backup and GalaxSim both report root). Also installed BusyBox from the market, just to see if somehow that wasn't quite right. Nothing seems to have helped.
Would love to use GalaxSim rather than one of the services like SIM-unlocker.net. Anybody have any ideas?
Unfortunately, it won't work with your model which has a Qualcomm chip for its radio part. I7100 is supported as its full exynos
Check n7105 development section.
It has instructions with a working free unlock

Ah bummer, thanks for the quick response though! Guess I'll have to buy a code through one of those sim-unlock.net type things.
@expertzero1 Sorry, didn't see your post until well after I'd responded. The method outlined in the n7105 development section worked perfectly for me. Thank you for the heads-up!

Expertzero1 already took care of this. The method outlined the worked just fine for the AT&T model. There's still the problem of getting above Edge on T-Mobile, but that's another problem...

unlock code
Here many services are available to unlock your Samsung galaxy note 2 mobile phone.I would recommend the site Unlock-Zone.com here they ask your country from where you bought it and service provider. Then they deliver unlock code to you.
unlock galaxy note 2
Turn on phone with non accepted SIM card.
Phone will prompt you for unlock code.
Enter unlock code we have provided you.
Phone will accept unlock code and now your At&t Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SGH-I317 is unlocked.

Pull back cover and look at model number. Then go to that area for roms
TWEAKED 1.0 NOTE 3
Your phone can flash Tmobile roms, because it shares the same snapdragon 800 soc as the USA versions. Even if your phone is international you can flash both your international roms and USA variants as long as you enter apn settings for your carrier.
