[Q] Disable Vibrate

Hi,
I just got my HTC desire back from repair and had forgotten how annoying the vibrate function is (now its working again). Does anyone know how to stop the vibrate function for all events?

We need more informations to figure out from where comes your problem, can you tell us which ROM you're using ? It really exists an option to prevent your Device from Vibrating, all that you have to do is to Uncheck Vibrate in "Settings->Sound" (3rd line for my case)

I have settings/sound = never. I dont have the option you detailed. I think it may be a rom thing. I have the latest solstice.
The options I have are:
- vibrate - always
- never
- only in silent
- only when not silent

Hello,
Which ROM you're using right now?
-Its name in case of a Custom ROM,
-Its Version(Eclair 2.1, FroYo 2.2, GingerBread 2.3 or even Donut 1.6 [Android Version] ) ?

as I said, I was using the latest solstice release which is an AOSP rom 2.3.7. I have now got ICS installed, and dont have the problem now. Thanks anyhow.

max 3 push notification problems with alot of users-any help

dear all
i have noticed a lot of customers having problem with max 3 push notification with no actions.
i know here in Egypt 5 bought it and have same and nearly everyday you can find more max3 used for sell after only few weeks of buying.
if anyone can assist in solving or to contact ..
i have tried everything available online
installing global beta and stable
disabling battery optimize
allow all permissions to apk like whatsapp/viber /mymail
Auto start
lock apks
nothing worked
if any can help.

Did you enable notifications and badges? You can set the priority there. Just click on the app settings and select notifications. I have no issues.

yes i did all of that still sometimes i get sound and sometimes not..
i checked every single item and enabled anything related to notifications
even network signal is full and whenever i try to call or i get call it gives out of coverage
i m sure its software bug ...
i even changed region to so many but nothing
i wiped data after each install of rom
the only doubt i have is
in app settings in installed app
there is system notifications
no sound
and i press it i found all notifications are on

That's the problem with Chinese ROMs
I have a global version and np problems whatsoever.
Had the same problem with the Huawei honor note 8 Chinese.
Partial fix was to add widgets for all the apps that you can on the home page, or open each one up and keep them running in the background without closing them.

Thanks ..that already what i m doing now so i get the notification sometimes by sound or only by wake up the screen.
if i cancel wake up screen for notification.. i cant know unless when i unlock the screen...
that is only in whatsapp viber and email apk ( tried three )...
hope an update fixes this...

I would just install Xiaomi.eu rom. No one I know on xiaomi.eu roms are having your sound problems.

1_ does it support arabic language not the interface as i use english but i mean in writing .
2- from where to download
3- can i flash like the official one by putting the rom on internal folder and use the update.

Is your bootloader unlocked? You will need to unlock it since it's a custom rom.

That's the only way you'll be able to use xiaomi.eu. Sorry, buddy. Unlock or try another global fastboot?

Same problem here with GMAIL only, I was receiving delayed notification(1 or 2 hours). Changed with k9, now works fine. I'm on MIUI 10 Global (no root, no bootloader a virgin one
From time to time, I receive a whatsapp message which wakes up the screen, but without any sound (very strange).
I'm quite unhappy with the notifications system

Yes thats what i have notifications come with no sound and only wake up screen light then second one with sound but i installed the global beta and its better than global stable so far with last update.

Basically what I had to do was manually turn on all notification sounds and pop ups. Some apps simply cannot be turned on like Google messages.

Smart Lock menu

Hi guys,
is there a way to get into the Google smart lock settings manually?
Unfortunately you will only see this menu by pairing a new bluetooth device, then you will get a popup regarding the smart lock settings.
This has been discussed a lot in the xiaomi forum, xiaomi just removed the frontend from all of their roms.
I tried a few apps like Smart Lock Launcher and Quick Shortcut Maker, but they do not work.
The build in feature in the lockscreen settings is only working for xiaomi devices.
Any solution?

You're talking about MIUI? For the relatively short period that I used it, it looked to me as if Xiaomi had completely replaced the Android code with their own version that only worked with Xiaomi devices. I never found a way around it. It's one of the many reasons why I only lasted a couple of weeks on MIUI.

Likewise, seems Xiaomi only allows their own devices to be able to smart unlock the phone.
Google smartlock seems to be disabled.
I also don't get google map notifications on my lock screen.
Will be my last xiaomi device unless they fix this soon

Just switch to a different rom. Mine works spectacularly well on PE.

Don't really know enough to do that - plus I hate having to tinker with things. Wish I went with the One Plus...only issue I had on my One Plus 5T was the issues with the sound recording on third party apps

On MIUI EU I found that if you pair a bluetooth device it gives you the option to enable smart lock for it then you can press back and setup smart lock for onbody / location however smart lock doesn't work.
Even when connected to the bluetooth device / at home etc it still wants a pin if you just try and swipe up.
Pretty disappointing

Yeah, if I'd bought this and was stuck on MIUI, I'd be pretty unhappy. Have you tried it with one of the supported Xiaomi headset devices?

That's what makes me leave miui every time, you can install smart unlock from play store, everything looks like it's going to work but it doesn't.

It's like night & day being back on stock Android. As soon as I started using the PE rom I was overcome with an immense sense of relief, I'd been starting to wonder if I'd made a very expensive mistake by buying the MM3.

Call Screen Feature in Phone App

Many may like this new feature but I do not. It is too easy to hit the Sceen button by mistake when pulling phone out of pocket for example, subjecting your caller to the message and creating confusion.
Unfortunately, Google feels we should all have this with no choice and has provided no proper way of disabling it. (smells like IOS)
Changing phone language to UK English worked until new Phone app update today.
Reverting to original Phone app also works but then no dark mode and loss of other new features.
I have thought of going to a custom ROM but then wondered if that is even a solution as this is in the Phone.apk that I would be updating from Play Store anyway.
Can anyone please let me know if this is the case with custom ROMs - do you have Call Screen or not?
Any other way to disable this?

Flashing ROM due to issues

Hi everyone.
I am fairly new to ANdroid phones.
Recently I purchased the 9 SE and received yesterday. Absolutely love the form factor and feel as well as the HW but the Xiaomi SW is shocking.
The issues I have are:
1 - Waveup does not work (wile I understand there are inbuilt alternatives DTTW etc, I like using WaveUP)
2 - Unlock with bluetooth (will only work with Xiaomi devices)
3 - Notifications disappear
4 - No LED to nofify of incoming items
5 - Much Mi bloatware that cannot be removed
I am considering flashing XenonHD + Okita Kernel.
Can anyone advise if this will resolve any/all of my issues?

Basically, yes. But there are other bugs in the aosp roms. Also we have no led light so nothing will fix that.
I would suggest xiaomi.eu 11 it's the fastest and most stable ROM without bloat right now
Either way you need to unlock the bootloader which can take time. I would start that now.

My main gripes are the bloatware and bluetooth at the moment.
Yeah, read about the LED and am a little surprised as this is a very useful feature.
Also the weird way notifications are handled are well, just weird....
While the handset is really nice and sleek the OS is not great at all

Stock Miui 10, I agree with you. All those issues are fixed by xiaomi.eu 11 beta
Bloat removed, notifications working well, generally closer to stock than Miui has ever been

I have updated to 11 stable but unfortunately it has not resolved my issue with smart unlock.
I have a Garmin Vivimove HR and no matter what I do, I cannot get the phone to allow the watch to unlock the phone.

Actually, the phone will not stay connected to the Garmin watch at all.

Help with Bootloader unlocking and ROM selection
So finally getting round to unlocking Bootloader as I recently bought Sony WH-XB900N and cannot get the phone to make calls via the headset (apparently something to do with (selecting HFP or HSP for the profile - can't find it anywhere in teh settings) and, along with some of the other issues described in my original post, I've had enough of this ROM (MIUI 11.2.0) and Xiaomi believing they are entitled to control how I use a device that I own (Xiaomi are worse than Apple at this point)
Was about to do it earlier with the miflash_unlock tool and received the message "unlock will erase user data" which I didn't realise would happen.
I discontinued the operation.
Will unlocking the Bootloader on the Mi 9SE erase all my data? - If so can anyone advise the best way to proceed?
Also, is there a ROM that will address:
1. Unlock with bluetooth (will only work with Xiaomi devices)
2. Much Mi bloatware that cannot be removed
3. Allow calls from Sony WH-XB900N wireless headset
