Hello Gents,
I am wondering if I can use some help with the following questions:
I had downloaded the hotfixes from HTC (the device response time, the display flicker and response sliding bar)
Everything went fine but later on I was trying to place a video call and I noticed that the video call button (the one below to the * key) has the letters of (Call Hi....) just about the lowest edge of the button. So when I tab the button, I get the call history instead of the video call.
I unistalled the fixes and restarted the device but nothing new. I just do not wanna direct you through the fixes but I am just saying all what happened. Have you faced teh issue before?
The second issue is: How can I make a screen shot of the phone,. like the ones I see on site here, is there any software to do it, something like the active synch or I have to be a developer to be able to do it...
Thanks indeed for the help
Hi, for screenshots I use MyMobiler(.com)
Background:
I regularly use my TP2 (Vodafone 6.5 stock ROM-for now- running TF3D) as a SatNav unit running TomTom 7.
I use Gyrator2 to auto-rotate TomTom & other apps incl Manilla
While doing this, I like to keep the device in landscape mode (it then looks like a stand-alone TomTom unit but with added bling haha!)
When actually driving I also use a BT Headset (although I dont think this is part of the issue)
Problem:
When I receive an incoming phonecall or press the phone button with TomTom running in landscape mode, a strange thing happens.
First, TomTom reverts to portrait, even thought the device is in landscape. Then the phone is displayed, also in portrait. When I hang up the call, the display reverts to TomTom, which is still in portrait.
This means I have to manually rotate the device to portrait & back to get TomTom to re-display correctly in landscape, OR leave the phone permanently in portrait mode so the phone doesnt muck up the display (which kind of negates the point of having a g-sensor!)
Observation:
1) I tried changing from Gyrator2 to ChangeScreen in case it was Gyrator that was the issue: ChangeScreen has a nifty 'vibrate' to tell you it is rotating the screen. Assuming the device is in normal portrait mode, I can press the SEND key & the phone comes up as normal: pressing 'X' at the top right returns to the TomTom screen again as normal.
However, when I press the phone send key when in landscape mode, ChangeScreen causes the phone to vibrate madly for a good second or 2 instead of the small buzz it usually does for a screen rotation, as if it is busy fighting whatever setting is trying to force the device into portrait: briefly part of the phone screen is displayed before it vanishes again returning me to the TomTom screen.
At the moment I will have no option to return to Gyrator2, but that also exhibits this strange "forcing into portrait" effect when I press SEND key or an incoming call is received. (but at least it DOES display the phone screen, albeit such that I have to turn my head sideways!)
2) if I extend the keyboard, thus forcing the device to work in landscape, I can smoothly open the phone, straight into landscape, no glitches, all working perfectly; and when the phone app is closed manually or automatically TomTom smoothly returns, again in landscape, as it should.
Questions:
Is there a way of "kidding" the TP2 I have the keyboard slid out when I dont, in order to force the phone to display correctly, OR does anyone know if a simple registry edit will prevent phone from trying desperately to force the device into portrait mode before displaying?
On my old Kaiser I had screen rotation mapped to a spare hardware key. OUr TP2's only come with ONE hardware key, which I have set to MSVC. is it possible to create a 'screen rotation' shortcut similar to what was found on my old Kaiser?
If it's of any help, I have noticed this odd effect with both the Vodafone 6.5 & generic HTC Euro 6.5 ROMS (device is HardSPL'd)
I used keyboard config to map a doubleclick to screen rotate. That way I have more control.
Hi,
Sometimes, when my DHD is in my pocket and it rings, I take it out of my pocket and, Unintentionally, rejecting the call (it seems that I am touching the screen).
Any idea how to stop it from happen?
Hi, I use Call Confirm App as I used to have the same problem, thankfully not anymore now.
What is the name of the apps?
Thanks
Call Confirm App
I installed it but it is good only for outgoing calls.
I need an app for incoming calls.
Oops sorry about that still haven't got rid of my hangover yet.
Only other thing I can suggest is get a leather-ish flip case.
I use one I got off the "bay" and it does the job OK.
Del.
Thanks.
No app?
I have exactly the same problem.
If you like, you can check my theme here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=911474 and especially its last post... but I havent found any "full" solution yet.
I have the same problem too.. :/ The only solution so far is to pull it out from the pocket very carefully without touching the screen. That just annoys the hell out of me.
I believe this will solve your problem. It's in the market and it allows you to delay button presses, to prevent accidental rejections. Check it out.

Via the XDA app for the HTC Inspire
you have several options, but unfortunely none of them are great! =oP
this "slide" is a part of htc framework, so it can't be changed (if you wanna stay with sense)
so, when i'm with sense i prefer widget locker, it's a really great app, "solve" this problem by put a unlock screen over the original one (so, you pick out the pocket, unlock the phone/widget locker, see who is calling and slide up/down to answer/deny, basicaly you need to unlock you phone twice)
other idea is simply disable the lock screen and use widget locker to unlock the phone, the idea is:
- Disabling lockscreen you will get a incoming call with no slider, it will be replaced by that simple two buttons "answer" and "decline" (the same you got when the phone rings and you are using it)
- when lockscreen is disabled, the screen goes off, but any key turn it on again, so, you use widget locker to solve it, and let the option "over the original answer/deny call" ticked (but it won't stay over anything, because lockscreen is disabled)
you can also try http://www.appbrain.com/app/proximity-screen-off/com.itsme4ucz.screenoff
that app has a option that let your phone with screen off when it is in your pocket, using proximity sensor.
regards
my screen goes blank.. but the call is still pending sometimes.
hello,
i have a problem with the sensor during call... when i move the phone away from my head, the display stays off, so that i can't stop the call (have to take out battery to stop call).
is there a workaround for that bug? i tried switching off "proximity sensor", but doesn't help... but also i want that feature
this is the only failure of cm7 that should be solved (in my opinion) to make it the best rom for defy
thanks in advance
SensorTest and plot app will see if the sensor is working
i've testet proximity sensor with an app called "phone tester"... this app shows, that proximitysensor recognizes, that i move near to the phone, but doesn't recognize if i move away from phone... i think this is an cm7-bug, because it works with original rom...
is there a workaround? is it possible to try another proximity-sensor-driver?
which is your cm7 version?
atm: nightly-build from 5.8.11, but it was also on rc1v2...
after a deep search in xda-forum i found a solution: i touched over the sensor with little pressure and now it works
but on stock i never had to touch it... it works always on stock and sometimes not on cm7 without touching the sensor... i am confused
You could try goto settings - Acessibility - "Power Button Ends Call".
Use power button to ends call which you don't need the display to turn on for ending a call.
thats a good idea! thank you!! ... btw: that option should be in "call settings" instead of accessibility... i think no one would expect it there
There's an option in Call Settings called "Always use proximity" which may be useful, and "also Keep screen awake".... both seem relevant to your problem. In Display settings there is also "In-accurate proximity" which I would suggest is enabled....
Sensor during call works on my CM7. For information, I've manual brightness, not auto... perhaps...
When somebody calling me and I pick up, I can make conversation but phone is stuck on ringing mode, and after few moments hang up phone call, and I have missed call...
Somebody else have this problem? How can I fix this?

That's weird, I did never face this issue but my A2L is relatively new (1 week only).
I'll try to phone to my own A2L using different devices to see if I face this issue.

Yes, it is very weird and annoying. Not happens every time, but sometimes... ?
This happened to me yesterday for the first time, but I thought that was a problem of the person that was calling me.
It was a number I didn't have in my contacts, and after the bug I immediately called back that number, but it was not available.
I thought the person that was calling me had a very low battery charge and while calling me his phone turned off, causing the bug (because immediately after the bug it was unavailable).
To this date I still did not have this problem.
Me too, i cant answer and reject calls when i upgrade to android pie
Solved: Screen not turning on with incoming calls
Step 1: Go to Dialer or Phone app settings. To do so, you can either go to main settings, then open ‘Apps’, and then scroll down to Dialer or Phone App.
You can also access App Info page by long pressing the app icon, and then tapping the App info option or the small ‘i’ icon in the corner.
Step 2: Now select “App notifications” option and turn it "on"
Step 3: Now if App notifications are turned off, your display won’t wake up when someone calls you. Also if only the “Incoming calls” permission is off, your screen will not light up with incoming calls. Make sure required permissions are turned on and your issue will be fixed.
Xiaomi Mi 2 Lite. I cannot get incoming calls to show on my screen, so I can't answer. Tried switching notifications off and on again, tried forcing stop. Two days ago I did a factory reset and was OK for 2 days. I think this is since latest Android update about a 10 days ago.
Call answer bug
I have similar issue on Mi A1, been going for a while. Sometimes, call comes in, the answer key cannot pick and cannot reject the call. This happened after a certain update I just dont know which. I have noticed that this mostly happens at some particular GSM antennas, sometimes, just by moving away from that antenna (that's when in a car) solves the problem. But as long as I remained in that location at that time, i cannot pick or reject calls, I also can't make calls, I get the promt, network problem, even though the service bars r showing. And in some cases the people calling will tell me, that calls to me are not going through.
This is driving me nuts. When I get a phone call I get a bar at the top of the screen with two buttone, one saying Decline and the other sayng Answer. I can tap on it like a demented woodpecker, but nothing happens. If Itry to swipe it, the two buttons just disappear into a void and the phone keeps ringing with no way to answer. Very, very occasionally I get the normal notification that I can swipe to answer, but I have to phone nearly everybody back.
