LineageOS on m8: problems with powerbutton - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone!
Like it's written in the heading I have some problems with my one m8. It runs with LineageOS (14.1-20170803) and my powerbutton drives me crazy atm..
Sometimes the powerbutton does what it made for. But most of the time instead of locking the screen it shows me the bootoptions (restart, power down, restart into recovery). This window should appear if I press the powerbutton for a while, not if I press it short time to lock the screen. The second problem is the camera. It seems to be connected somehow. I don't know why but sometimes when I (short)press the powerbutton the smartphone vibrates and asks how to open the following action (options are camera and Snapchat ).
I would like to give you further details, but I don't know what you need Maybe something like a logfile would help to solve the problem? How can I give you a log, which includes my problems ?
Thanks!

Try the previous release before Aug 3rd (maybe Jul 27th) and see how.
Or try another ROM and see whether same problem is there but don't try RR 5.8.4 that recently released, you're going to have same problem.
I can guess why that problem happens but I'm not using these ROMs as DD only briefly tested.
Or you can try the same ROM that I'm running now and tell me you have the problem or not. Link in my signature.

CE-Star wm2003 version installed on Touch HD ended in screen lockout !

Hi Guyz, Just bought a Touch HD and 1st thing i did was configure a 4 digit password. Since i live in china and Chinese for texting, i went on to try to install a old version of CE-Star (wm2003) on it, installation went fine, finally was prompted to do soft-reset, i did so, and then things went haywire, after coming out of reset the device diasplayed the initial password screen came up, realized that i cannot type in screen (totally un-responsive) and nor clicking on below 4 hardware butons causes any effect. I cannot enter into my device and hence cant do anything, stuck. Both Soft-reset nor even the Hard-reset surprisingly does not work (at wits end to get out of this dilemma, pls help). Pls help to resolve. Thanks.
if hard reset didn't work i think that this means that you have a faulty touch screen!
but i think you have not done Hard reset right,
do the following,
turn off the device
hold down vol up & vol down
press and release (only single click) the power button and wait for the instructions on the screen.
follow the instructions on screen untill the phone reboots.
i hope this will help

Any problems to my phone ???

My phone seldom hangs(actually it hangs at a extremely low chance) and doesn't do anything even if i press the home button (though it can turn off the screen by pressing the power button)
I wonder if it has some problems or bugs
NOTE:
1.my phone is rooted
2.I had flashed the ROM once as the phone is bricked
3.I'm now using I8150ZSLD1 ROM
4.it's later updated to I8150ZSLM4
anyone who can help me PLEASE reply this post, give me some suggestions or just tell me to flash another ROM cuz it hung once today & I'm very very worried about it.

[Q] [HELP] Gnex does NOT turn on after a normal reboot

Anyone please help me, i'm very nervous
Today my Gnex has just decided not to turn on anymore after a reboot.
Please note that it is not Flashing - related, because i've used this current rom (Xenon HD v8) for about a week or so. When the fault happened, i just rebooted my phone during a normal daily use, and right after downloading Google Maps and updating Instagram. These are the only changes i made before rebooting the device. And booooom, it stopped running out of the blue.
It does vibrate when i press and hold Power button (for a normal boot) or when i press the combination of Vol up + Vol down + Power to enter fastboot.
But that's it. After the short vibration, it stays black
It does feel warm on the back.
So, what happened to my phone?
Please explain this Sh!t, many thanks.
Maybe this can help you.

Boot loop and random reboots after TWRP install/stock rom flash

Hi all, my Tab S 10.5 (T800) was running stock MM with no root. I tried using the Adoptive storage enabler patch from this site. After installing the TWRP using Odin and flashing the adoptable storage patch, I am stuck in that stupid reboot loop. I did selected "Allow modification to system partition..." in TWRP. I managed to apply the batch and after a number of attempts boot successfully, changed to internal storage etc but still getting random reboots all the time now. Read more on the site; then did cache clear, factory reset via recovery and then also flashed back stock MM firmware - everything successful but still getting random reboots.
Just to mention, the tablet has recently had a brand new original battery so that is not the problem. It was working fine before I attempted the TWRP/Adoptive storage patch or stock firmware flash and now getting random reboots (sometimes right at startup logos and sometimes soon after booting up).
This appears to be a very common one on these Samsung tablets so no clear reason anywhere why it happens. Any suggestion for a quick fix for this please. I am getting random reboots at the moment all the time since I tried flashing the recovery/patch/stock firmware. Any help would be appreciated please...
update
Just to provide quick update and info:
Purely by hit and trial, I have found that if I keep hold of the power button (pressing it constantly since power up), it goes past the initial boot loop consistently and boots the device up. But then, once it hits the limit for holding the power button (think 30 secs), it vibrates and turns itself off (which I think is normal behaviour). So I thought this is interesting to share as not something I have read anywhere else. Not sure what difference it makes to the startup by holding down on the power button but that does not appear make it loop. Of course, this is not a solution as the tablet eventually shuts down after 30 secs of holding the power button.
The power button itself seems fine and not broken/damage or anything - clicks fine and solid and works fine every time. Also the random restarts does not happen in recovery/download mode so I take it the power button is not faulty as else, it should be happening for everything.
Again, requesting everyone for some help please as I am a bit stuck what to try next.... thanks in advance!
anyone pls...?
Bump again... in the hope one of the experts will jump in to help!!
Thanks in advance
I'm experiencing the same exact issue, The tablet will power up to the setup screen and I can almost finish the setup process but then it vibrates and powers down. PLEASE... someone, chime in and help with this problem.
Thanks In Advance

Volume buttons randomly stops working

Hello.
I've been trying to figure out the source of the problem with my volume buttons.
The problem is:
The volume buttons suddenly stop working. I need to reboot the phone or wait another time to have them working again. The problem happens randomly, I cannot figure out the source of the problem. They just don't work to adjust volume, but if I try to take screenshot (combo of power + volume down keys), it works without any problem.
Had this problem initially on full stock Android, without root or mods.
Now I have unlocked the bootloader, flashed Havoc-Os and rooted, still having the same problem.
Is there something wrong with the software or hardware of the phone?
Can someone guide me to troubleshoot this problem?
Pie or Android 10?
Still on pie.
Is it a common problem on android 9?
Never seen that or heard of that
this also happens to me with my Oneplus 5T
I have no idea why...
they randomly stop working for a few days to work again for another few days and it cycles
