updated bl and cp for t-mobile galaxy note 3 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I found out there was an updated firmware for the t-mobile galaxy note 3, but i couldn't find the bl and cp downloads anywhere, so i decided to just extract and make them available myself. ive uploaded to my phone, on which i am running a 6.0.1 rom with galaxy s8 features. it loaded perfectly fine, and believe it or not, my signal has improved signifigantly! i hope it stays that way. im just sharing in case anyone else was in my predicament, and wanted to make it easy to find. all you need is odin 3.11.1, and the bootloader and modem (bl and cp) available below. if you need to know how to use odin, search it, theres tons of info on xda. just in case something goes wrong with your phone, or youre worried it might, dont do it, and blame the phone gods if something goes wrong.

Seems to be an old bootloader :/
Update-- or maybe it's not flashing? very odd.. heimdall says it is.
Totally weird. I'm seeing the string N900TUVUFQD2 in modem.bin but after I flash it, it' still being listed as the B6 one... super strange. It's like the flash isn't "taking"

I am in the same boat firmware OB6 going to QD2. I've tried Odin 3.11 or 3.12; show successful but Phone INFO still shows OB6?
---------- Post added at 11:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 PM ----------
Found the answer; you MUST power off; battery pull not needed. DO NOT CONNECT TO PC. Volume Down+Home+Power, you'll get an option to press Volume Up to continue -> now connect USB to PC. This will allow the upgrade of the Baseband/Modem.

Yup. That was it. Powering off (and in my case pulling the battery) was the key.
Incidentally this modem is needed for lineageos 14.1 or you'll have simcard issues.
Thx!

I have lineageos 14.1 hltetmo version and today had issues after leaving a wifi hotspot and having an lte connection problem. Just shows an x for data. Restarted phone and lte was back up and running. I was already running the QD2 modem at the time today.

I had a very similar issue. i was on my own wifi when the problem appeared. I restarted the phone several times, but never pulled the battery out. I decided to go back to stock OS because of the recurring issue. By any chance did you use the tmo apn settings from their website?. At some point even having lte signal i had no data connection at all.
Hows yours running?

Is it possible I might need an older baseband for best signal or basic functions like SMS?
Running MagMa VX1. Flashed bl and cp in Odin before a clean ROM flash in TWRP. ROM's great, data's fine, but I can't receive SMS basic texts. I've checked APN settings and changed APN type a lot -- still can't receive SMS. Could this baseband be the problem? Or what else, for not receiving SMS?
EDIT: Fixed. ROM set APN protocol to IPv4/IPv6 by default. Changed it back to only IPv4 and now receive SMS again.

T999L issues

so i bought a T999l a few weeks ago had it unlocked, rooted and activated with my existing t-mobile account. For some reason my 4G never worked with them and after several calls they said because my phone was modified they couldn't help me basically. I started with some of the roms from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2308514 but ended up going back to stock or prob trying to go back to stock because it still says its modified in status of phone. so i was back to 4.1.2 with uvamb7 kernel. I ended up trying sim cards from different carriers and found out that 4g works with at&t sim cards. so the other day i joined aio and finally had 4glte for the first time on this phone. As the days go by though i started noticing it wasnt keeping 4g or 4g lte when i was moving around. As a matter of fact i have to force it to go 4g or lte by either restarting and getting lucky or by using *#2263# and switching sometimes several times from only lte and gsm to automatic or all lte basebands (which gives me lte but i cant make calls or receive calls apparently) and then switching to automatic. Basically if i get lucky and its getting 4glte on automatic it will be fine until i move to a area where there is no lte then its gone until i force it to go lte again even if i get into a area that has lte/4g. Its like its not automatically detecting its in a 4g/lte area, it just stays on edge until i force it. I then tried the 4.3 rom at this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48399478. I sort of got it working but i think i might have been using the wrong kernel because whenever i restart the phone it doesnt load past the galaxy sIII splash screen. If i dont restart however it works but same issue i have to force it to detect when its in a 4g or lte area. So since that wasn't working too well i went back to the stock 4.1.2 setup. So im thinking is this an issue with my antenna or something? I'm still learning this phone so any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
If your had updated to stock 4.3 and if the latest version from Samsung contains KNOX in t999l variant, follow this step !
reboot into recovery mode and clear the cache and restart the phone! this should work..!

i found a t-moblile 4.3 firmware update last night and flashed it using odin. Seems like its not rooted anymore since i'm getting the stock recovery now. I assume wipe cache partition is the same thing right? so i did that and restarted the phone. 4g lte came right up. I make a call and it drops to 4g which is fine considering before it would drop all my data during a call. Here is the thing though after the call it shows full 4g for a couple seconds then no bars, nothing. No data no network and it will consistently do this . im starting to think this phone is possessed
Stop flashing stuff. Odin to stock (4.3 if you have ever flashed 4.3 via odin, 4.1.2 otherwise) and bring it in.
Also, make sure you use the right firmware, or you will hard brick. If you have never flashed 4.3 via Odin, use MB7. If you have flashed 4.3 via Odin, use MK4.
No amount of flashing random stuff will fix your nv data.

I did flash MK4 and i bought this phone off ebay. I don't have a warranty with it. Where exactly am i bringing it in to?
If you have the t999L it has warranty... Hasn't been out long enough for warranty to run out
Bring it in to your carrier (tmo?) And have them reprovision it. It sounds like bad nv data, and unless you have a good backup, the carrier is the only one that can fix that.

I have the same problem, I paid 15 dollars to the unlockpros.com to remotely unlock my T999L. they did unlock it but now 4g data in t mobile is gone, it freeces, on aTT I get 4G but it goes on and off.
I spoke to them and they tried to fix it remotely, the 4g finally appeared again on t mobile network but then after restart same problem again, no 4G data on t mobile,
does anyone has a full NV data backup that I can use to restore?
will a NV backup from another gallaxy 3 work on mines??
hope someone can help.
Don't use anyone else's nv data, major problems if they turn their phone on ever, and legal issues.
Just Odin the root66 mb7 full restore. That will put you to 100% stock, but with root. You can then use triangle a way to reset the flash counter and modified status, then bring it in to tmo. Make sure to tell them not to update you, or you are stuck with the new bootloader. They might update you anyway "for your convenience", just FYI.

Anybody ever have issues with apps? I first had an issue with the stock messages app not allowing me to send out texts to a single person. Been having this issue for about 2 months. Have been in touch with T-Mobile repeatedly and they reset the signals and everything each time to no avail. Last rep I spoke with said to bring it in to a T-Mo store and get them to change out the SIM (in case that was the issue) and get them to do a back-up & reset. That too did not help. Eventually I downloaded the Google Messaging app and through that I'm able to send out normal person to person texts again but not through the stock app.
I've also got issues with apps having updated versions yet the updates aren't available in Google Play Store for me to download. For example, on June 27th, NCP Mobile came out with version 1.8, but it's still not showing. I've been in touch with the National Consumer Panel, and they say as long as I'm running Android 4.0 or higher (actually running 4.3, rooted- stock ROM) I should see the update available.
I've also been experiencing issues with Perk apps (namely Perk Browser and Perk Search & Win) not allowing me to sign in via Facebook or with email and password. Password reset links almost never get sent. The 2 times they did finally send me a reset link it directs me to the Perk homepage also on which I cannot sign in. I'm in touch with them regarding these issues too.
The last app (as of right now) that I am experiencing problems with is CSI: Crime Scene. The app doesn't allow me to connect to facebook to play with friends like I do when I'm on facebook.

CM11 No Mobile Network, Mobile Network State Disconnected

Whenever I flash cm 10.2 cm 11 any rom at all I face the problem of no internet. So I go back to stock. I have my baseband, build # important stuff like that. I always have to take out my assert lines. So when I flash any rom the fine line will say;
;Mount
or something like that I delete all the assert lines and I was told to keep assert lines but just change them to my baseband and stuff. Any help would be appreciated. & btw the problem is it says Mobile State: Disconnected. But I'm in service too.
I have the same problem. Been searching for a while and trying different fixes, but doesn't seem to be working. I'm on ATT galaxy S3, tho. If someone's got a working ATT S3 and let me know exactly what ROM, gapp, modem, etc they used, would much appreciate it.

More info is needed, such as carrier. I'm guessing either Virgin Mobile or Boost if you need to remove asserts on any of the pre-unified builds (this would hold true for any ROM that has switched to d2lte from d2spr). If that is the case, then you don't have the correct APN's configured. Also, it usually doesn't hurt to be running the most current modem (MK3 for Sprint, MK5 for VM/Boost). Again, the more info the better, then people don't have to play Twenty Questions in order to get to the heart of the matter.
This may work...
So, after trying countless options that i found on this site, and after dozens of flashing roms, modems, kernels, booloaders, restores, etc... turns out that i was doing everything right and there was nothing wrong with the install or the phone itself. After contacting my carrier (PTEL Mobile) for the third time, (first time they told me they had an outage, second time they told me to set the APN setting correctly - neither of which was incorrect on my end or the cause), they said they will try RESETting the DATA on their end. And guess what - that worked.
If you think you did everything correctly but still not getting data, i suggest you make your provider to do the same, or at least pry them as much as you can about your problem and what they can do about it. I wasted to much time and effort (my poor phone) on this and the solution was simple, and not my fault. Hope this helps others.

Hiya, I'm currently having the same problem as the OP. Mobile state disconnected but it says I am in service. Using latest version of Philz recovery and I flashed the most recent nightly of the Cyanogenmod 11 -4.4.2 KitKat (April 5th, 2014).Carrier is Virgin Mobile, using Samsung Galaxy SIII SPH-L710. PRL is most recent one 33030 and modem is MK5. I did however, flash the rom without deleting the assert lines, since I did not know I had to delete some assert lines. Any help with this? Thanks.

Deleting asserts is only for d2spr specific builds, that doesn't apply to d2lte builds (hence the reference to "pre-unified builds" in my first post). Your issue is most likely also related to APN's. However, there are also known data issues on a lot of the latest CM nightlies, and also on the ROM's that rely heavily on CM as a code source. I would strongly recommend reading the last several pages of the thread for any ROM that falls into this category in order to see what other users are reporting along these lines.
CM11 No Mobile Network
Hey guys,
Noob here. I'm running CM11-20140428-NIGHTLY-jflte on a Galaxy S4 GT-i9507(international, optus) but bootscreen now says 9505(not sure if that's important).
I've had Mobile Network State: Disconnected for the last three nightlies. On CM11 M3 it was working all good, but now no luck.
So I've tried a few things and I've come to the point where I'm going to try the factory reset then reflash CM11 and fingers crossed it will work.
Can anyone talk me through the proper procedure for this? I've made a full backup on my external SD using CWM 6.0.4.7 and transferred it to
computer just in case. So would anyone be awesome enough to take me through it step by step.
Cheers,
hhmmm

Stock no APN settings at all
I have looked everywhere and found nothing for the last 3 weeks. I have a stock, sprint S3 on straight talk (my son's phone) it will not get 4g lte data what so ever. My phone is the exact same phone, and it does get 4g lte data. I tried all the basics ##72786# data on off check airplane mode...nothing. Mobile network state is "disconnected". So I opened data ##3282# to compare apn settings with my phone. I made sure everything matched, and when I get to "LTE APN Settings" I open it up, and nothing is there except APNs nothing, blank. Also missing is "Dial Up Networking" that option does not exist on my son's phone. He updated to kitkat (uggh) but the problem was present before that. Checked the phone, and it is not rooted. Funny thing is the phone updates with 4g lte running after dialing ##72786#, but that goes away after it completes. Texting works, but no mms (pictures etc.) and if I set it to cdma only it gets 3g, otherwise no data at all. Anybody?

[Q] Att GS3 No calls over LTE

Hello all,
I have a GS3 with the following info:
ROM: SlimKat -4.4.4.build.7.0-OFFICIAL-5979
Baseband: I747UCUFNE4 (just flashed and cleard cache after)
Kernel: 3.4.101-cyanogenmod-g411b453
I just flashed this rom (after rooting the stock 4.4.2 via towelroot) and am unable to make calls over LTE. Here is what happens:
1. I have full LTE reception (yes it is actually LTE because I am on a cyanogenmod rom and it displays LTE in the top)
2. I make the call
3. I watch the signal change from LTE to 3g to H+, then disconnect.
4. For some towers, the call will go through, provided I am connecting via H+
5. If I go to *#*#INFO#*#* and make the phone settings "LTE ONLY", I am unable to call even when I have good LTE signal.
Whats strange is that Data, seems UNAFFECTED, I can keep in in LTE mode and browse the web as well as send text messages.
Any thoughts?
UPDATE:
I just flashed a new rom (dirty unicorn) and completely wiped the built in memory. I did not install any apps or even sign into my google account.
The problem is still there...
I called AT&T and they didn't seem to see anything wrong, though the tech I got did not sound like she knew what the issue could be...
That's normal. I don't know of any network/phone that has implemented VoLTE yet. (Though I haven't done any research on it either so there might me some that do.) Currently LTE is a data only connection; it doesn't handle calls. So it's supposed to fall back to H+ when you make a call.
[Edit]: I did some "Research" (a.k.a. used the search bar *hint hint*) and what I said above isn't entirely true. I think the I747 is capable of VoLTE but AT&T, being the stickler that they are, doesn't allow it. Here's an old thread that most likely still applies: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791955
Also, this should've been posted in Q&A. If there's any mods here, could ya do us all a favor and move this thread?

Thanks for the reply. I have also noticed that I am flat out unable to make calls at my home (different tower?) when I have LTE enabled. If I switch to 3G only, then everything works fine...cept I only get 3G speeds. I definitely did not have this problem when I was previously running the same version of SlimKat (I reverted back to stock for a bit) but I also don't know whether AT&T changed something. I am looking to try a rooted version of of the latest stock rom next.

I just reported it to the mods to have it moved to Q&A. No big deal. We all make mistakes. That's what the mods are here for.
You'll always be on 3G/H+ when using voice. If it's dropping calls, flash a different modem to see if that works.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using XDA Free mobile app
AT&T voice calls cannot be done via LTE regardless of the ROM. LTE is currently data only. When on LTE, the phone should switch to 3G/H+ when on voice calls. If you select LTE ONLY, you will not be able to make voice calls since the phone is locked in to the LTE bandwidths only.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747
Well I talked to AT&T and they said that things should be OK on their end (I am on the east coast).
Here is a video of exactly what happens:
http://youtu.be/zHcJ7q0NwRs
NOTE: I do not have any problems with the 3g, yet the LTE just hangs up on its own. In the video, I manually hung up the 3g call.
I don't think I can use a different modem for AT&T with a 4.4 rom....can I?
pretty sure your modem and bootloader have to match.

SU
getprop ro.bootloader
there, maybe better. lol
err on the side of kindness
Not confusing at all. I know a little linux.
Seems like my bootloader matches:
Bootloader = I747UCUFNE4
Ok??? Does making a phone call on the stock ROM do the same thing? Sounds like you were on official stock when you rooted. If you made a nandroid of the stock, I would go back and check if you have not already.

Or try a modified stock ROM.

Well here is the overall path:
1. Had stock-->everything worked
2. Rooted and moved to SlimKat-->everything worked
3. Went back to stock-->used Odin and flashed a 4.1.1, then upgraded to 4.1.2, then upgraded to 4.3, then 4.4.x (all stock), everything worked
4. I remembered why I hated touchwiz so much so I rooted using towelroot, installed clockworkmod
5. Installed SlimKat --> Did not notice problem for a few days. Then problem began.

[Q] OTA Weirdness - Tab Pro 10.1

Got a notice of an OTA last night. Figured it was for Lollipop so told it to proceed. Once the tablet rebooted the WiFi radio was disabled. Looked in settings which showed that WiFi was on, but no radio. Went online an saw that Samsung hasn't sent out the Lollipop update for the 10.1.
Question 1 - how do I restore my tablet since I can't get WiFi turned on?
Question 2 - where did this weird OTA come from?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Others having same issue
Thought I'd post this as info. Checked over at Android Central and several people appear to be having the same issue. Looks like bad firmware from Samsung. Bad build number is: KOT49H.T520UEUAOD1. Wiping and factory refresh may help temporarily, but eventually the wifi radio will be disabled. I'm going to wait for Samsung to get their act together and flash a fresh build when it's released.
Thanks for the help.

My 10.1 Tab Pro was updated too but wifi is working fine. I'm not rooted though. Same build number that you mentioned.

Wifi Issue as well
I had the same update come across last night and now I can't connect to wi-fi to save my life. Really pissed off. Done 2 factory resets already, reset my modem at home, turns out it happens everywhere and not just at home. Wifi says it's on but doesn't pick up any networks in my area and won't connect to the 1 that is already known on my tab. PLEASE HELP
Got the update last week. Wifi is fine but now daily I get a random reboot. Never had any problems before. Thanks Sammy!

I have the same issue with the build described.
Does one know how to correct this firmware update if the tablet is unable to connect to the internet?

You can download an earlier firmware from sammobile.com. If you are in the US, use the firmware for cellular South and make sure it's a 4.4.2 that you are downloading. After you download it, you can flash it with Odin. There are several threads here on xda that describe this process. If you still need further help, post again.
TabPro 10.1 SM-T520, v4.4.2 Build KOT49H.T520UEUAOD1 No wifi after update
Boy am I glad to find you guys with the same problem as I have. Couple of days ago I saw an update message and decited to go for it. Well, as all of you know, wifi stops working. Factory resets gets it working again but once everything is restored it stops working again! This is quite frustrating and I hope Samsung is working on a fix right now. I haven't been on XDA for a while and only rooted phones before. So how is the rooting/mod scene for tablets. Any good Custom Roms out there we can use until/when this is resolved? I'm good with directions and done some custom roms on my phones before. Let me know what's the good ROMS out there are...the bloatfree version is a welcome even without KNOX, I don't really use it.

Thanks for your feedback.
I had to use the firmware from November 2014 to get it to work and restore my wi-fi.
Again thanks
KOT49H.T520UEUAOD1 is the problem
Well I figure this particular firmware has a problem. Because even after factory reset, wifi works once and goes back to not working. So the best solution is to get an earlier version. I went back to Sep 15, 2014 version and it works well. Took forever to download from sammobile though. So if you need to flash to a previous version that works. I have post a link to the firmware I have on my OneDrive that got it working again, hopefully it will be faster for you to get your tablet working again. Here is a link. This is for the US Tab Pro 10.1 SM-T520.

thank you for those who warned about the wifi problems this OTA introduced. I'm just going to keep ignoring the tablets request to update. I thought i got a great deal on this tablet when i got a refurbished one for under $300 several months ago... but samsungs lack of support for this tablet is astonishing.

did not work

Greetings friend!
I have tremendous problem with s3 I747.
After entering the password for the wifi
sample:
By connecting -> then says saved, protected (WPA2) ... never connected
Failed attempts.
1) * # 0011 # disable power saving .............> did not work
2) installation odin flash stock rom 4.3 ..................> did not work
3) change in baseband and then UCUFNJ1 UCUFNE4 .........> did not work
4) change of rom to slimkat 4.4.4 and 12.1 cyanogenmod ........_> did not work
5) Changes 3 different types of kernel ...........> did not work
What else can I do in the software?
Is there a piece of hardware that heating or welding?
eyes:
I can use the 3g and 2g, make calls, send sms.

What bootloader and modem was your device on before attempting to flash 4.3 with Odin?
In which order did you do step 3?
Was step 3 only the baseband (modem) or did you flash baseband and bootloader?
The 4.3 flash probably didn't work because Odin was protecting you from bricking your device by downgrading bootloader and modem.
If step 3 was only the modem you are fortunate the phone did not hard brick.
If your device was on either NJ1 or NJ2 before the attempt at flashing 4.3, I would recommend reflashing both the bootloader and modem it was on before the 4.3 attempt. If that was the NJ1 version flash it and be ready to go on to NJ2 if that doesn't correct the wifi issue.
My regards, brother.
Thanks for your answer.
The bear had was 4.3 UCUEMJB gave me the motherboard of I747.
I never connect to wifi.
Step 3 did so:
1) install UCUEMJB_to_UCUFNE4_Firmware_update (not connected wifi)
2) install slimkat between the system (not connected wifi)
3) install d2att_I747UCUFNJ1_bootloader_modem_4.4.2_12-3-14 (ADVANCED wipe, reinstall slimkat not connected the wifi)
4) 12.1 cyanogenmod pass (not connect)
5) then went back to try 3 slimkat kernel (not connect)
wipe now advanced.
I installed with this rom I747UCUFNJ2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/development/rom-d2att-ucufnj2-stock-rom-deodex-t3183267/
The wifi only 50 cm connected modem is slow and unstable.
even after the disable power saving * # 0011 #.
Can it be a hardware failure?
It could definitely be a hardware issue, but I am not sure how to test.

Have you tried it while running full stock rather than slimkat or another custom rom?
Not exactly sure what you meant about the motherboard, but if you changed it out, make sure you connected the wifi antenna correctly and didn't damage the plug.
If it doesn't work on full stock it's most likely a hw issue. Very possibly that antenna.

Greetings friend.
* Thanks for your reply.
* I have tried several custom rom,
several key modem without key
* I have several antennas have connected, keep doing the same
with wi-fi signal maximum is turned on and off.
They tell me that you can not repair hardware.?
I'll have to buy another card or I can I do?
It does sound like it's a hw problem. Unfortunately, I don't think it is something repairable. You'd first have to find the correct chip/radio and then replace the one on the board. Neither would be easy.
Your best bet imo, is to get a used replacement motherboard. You can find them online. Ebay usually has plenty. (Look for the motherboard and for working devices with broken screens).
Just make sure the imei is clean (not blacklisted).
