I still have 13 days before my bootloader gets officially unlocked and i lose my warranty. Is there a way to stop it?
I believe it voids when you actually unlock the bootloader. You have to confirm after the countdown

planning to unlock boatloader of my Play, but according to the Sony method, warranty will void, and even faulty hardware itself will not be covered by warranty.
found another way to unlock boatloader using the point-test thing, but seems to be kind of risky too.
may i know most of you guys here used which method to unlock your boatloader?
in a great dilemma now!
why not unlock and relock.
You can unlock and re-lock your bootloader.
Unlock using: http://adfoc.us/423185576865
And relock using this : http://adfoc.us/423185576880
I'm not 100% sure that sony can test that it was unlocked after re-locking but it does indeed work with SEUS after you bootloader is locked back.
Hi, recently I switched from Nexus 5 to Lenovo P2 but the phone I got has bloatware from T-Mobile and they don't seem to hurry with releasing Nougat to my phone
I noticed that in dev setting there's an option to OEM unlock the device, does it unlock the bootloader or just permits me to unlock it manually?
If so, after unlocking all I'll need to do will be just to flash TWRP and that's it?

This option only allows you to unlock it, it doesn't actually unlocks the bootloader
I asked a bootloader unlocking from my device. If after the 14 days period I don't unlock it with fastboot, do you think my warranty is still valid ?
I am thinking oft buying this Phone but rooting is very important to me. What I have found out so far is that you have to unlock your bootloader to install TWRP. Your warranty will officially be void.
Now my question: has sb send his phone to repair in Germany? Does Lenovo really check their database for your phone? And what about this 14 days wait?
Thanks in advance
I thought I've had this device nearly 2 years now so time to unlock and root as the custom ROMs are looking great.
But if I go on Sony page and enter my details to unlock my bootloader it informs me my device is not unlockable.
What are my other options?
Simply means your device is not unlockable. That's it. I'm guessing you got this through a phone carrier.
Yep through Vodafone, so is there no other option
Nope. It's done. Bootloader can't be unlocked at all. Even if you try to unlock bootloader anyway using flashtool, it will ask you to enter unlock key, which you can obtain only through sony website.
Thanks for your help maybe I should just upgrade to a new phone then only reason kept it stock was for warranty
Hi guys I have doubt, suppose if there is a hardware issue like touch screen problem..having my device unlocked will I be able to claim warranty replacement?

When you unlock the bootloader you give up your warranty rights.
If you want an intact Warranty do not unlock the bootloader.
This my understanding of the situation.
My warranty request was rejected, when i wanted to repair my front speaker. I have OEM unlock. I fixed it on my own.
I have few questions I went to the developer option and requested for unlocking bootloader now there's a wait of 14 days. Does it take exactly 14 days and does my current data will be wiped upon unlocking bootloader? Also can I opt out from unlocking bootloader now? Even though I have made the request already because many people are having touch issues and their warranty is being rejected because of unlocked bootloader.
Thanks

Yes it takes exactly 14 days and your data will be wiped upon warranty. After 14 days, you will still have chance of not unlocking it
I am planning to root my device and I was wondering is the warranty still ruined after locking the bootloader so my question is:
If I lock the bootloader is the warranty still ruined?
Well you don't lose it in the first place. No, unlocking the bootloader doesn't void your warranty.
if you restore MIUI rom and bring back phone to factory system you not loose your warranty, only if you leave unlocked bootloader and custom rom in phone you dont have warrant.
I believe once you unlock bootlaoder service center can check if you did it or not even if you re-lock it.

No, if you reflash the firmware, they can't check if you've unlocked it before (if you didn't unlocked officially in the first place).
Well most manufacturers (cheepo ones) do not implemented this kind of tech that persists data over a firmware flash.
Also, most of the time, they don't even check for this.
