Hi there is there anyone out there working on a port or will be working on a port for the original moto 360 and Android wear 2.0 as they have successfully done for the original LG G watch W 100.
This would revive the still great spec watch.
I wanted to do so, but I can't unlock bootloader. Maybe somebody knows how to downgrade bootloader ?
Unlock bootloader
Hi, I found this on youtube: watch?v=lUq1Qf9Z0os and watch?v=FMrywAnwqZ0 (i can't add full links yet)
I havent tried these methods, but it might help unlocking bootloader.
+1
I can try to do so, but I need cable to connect Moto 360 to PC. I can't buy it anywhere and I don't know how to make one

I was thinking the same thing...
I haven't really had time to check, but any dvb-t stick that's been around for some time where the Linux kernel supports it "natively" should do, right?

That depends. I have a few and they do vary in how much power they suck out of the usb port. I have a Hauppauge Hybrid 900 (950 in the US) that gets very hot and drinks power like an alchie. I also have an Asus mini 3000 I got for my eeePC 700 that sips very genteelly. Both have native Linux support but since I bought the above dongle, I won't be trying those.
The other problem is that you would need some android TV software that could interact with those sticks. The programs on Google Play seem to be very hardware specific.
Does the G3 support Ant+ ?
I'm having mixed results with my searches... I found a few review saying it does, automated "versus" sites says the S5 has Ant+ support but the G3 doesn't... I don't see Ant+ on LG's website and the G3 isn't in the Ant+ Product directory (http://www.thisisant.com/directory/filter/~/60/~/)
I've even seen someone somehwere say that any device that has Android 4.3 is Ant+ compatible, but i doubt that because im running 4.4 (CyanogenMod) on my current S3 and it doesn't have Ant+ ... but then, maybe this is just an AOSP license-quirk kinda deal...
I'm really interested in the G3 but i'd really like to be able to connect all my bike's devices to it (which i can't do on my S3). One of these devices is a powermeter and it's too expensive to replace for a Bluetooth one (and there aren't any Bluetooth compatible head-unit for the bike, that i'd like to use).
Right now, there are 3 phones that interest me, in this specific order : LG G3 > Sony Xperia Z2 > Galaxy S5 (fugly)
If the G3 does Ant+, its the one i'm getting! Please help me figure it out! hehe

I just checked though all of the system app files, and it's not there.
No it definitely does not support it. I just installed the Ant+ plugins and radio service and it says i need to have built in hardware or an external dongle to use it.

Looks like Ant+ Enabler (a $11 app that works on rooted phone) can enable it on the G3 now (when i looked previously, it didnt list the G3... )
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.z2software.antplus
It's too late now, as i have purchased an Xperia Z1, but this is really interesting... $11 to add Ant+ support to be able to connect your $800+ power-meter seems pretty cheap to me!
If i had known about that a few weeks ago! Oh well, i do enjoy my Xperia Z1 too so i guess it's all good.

Ah wow, that sucks. I guess if you cant get a refund, try to go the support route? I mean, at $11 it is cheap if it works but pretty expensive if it doesn't, hopefully the author would work with you to get it working.

The maker of Ant+ Enabler removed the G3 from his supported phone list... so i guess G3 owners are out of luck for now.

Ya, I saw that. I was curious is the g3 has the capabilities, but it's justva matter of writing the code for it. It sucks this phone doesn't have ant+ supported already.
i just got this phone this weekend. really sucks to hear that its not capable. does anyone know if there is a dongle attachment available?
Anything new ? Is somebody here who has working G3 with this app ?
i second that, anybody have a working G3 with ANT+?
I think LG G3 should work with OTG cable and ANT USB stick using ANT USB Service "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsi.ant.usbservice"
I update to Lollipop(checked system had AntHalSerice) and install ANT+ SERVICE and ANT+ PLUGINS. from Play store, ANT+ will be work , I used MIO LINK to checked is work fine.

Is there any developer that tries to port android wear 2.0 to this smartwatch?
I Will be so Glad if somebody tries that...
I've had recently the chance to try the latest AW 2.0 beta on a LG Urbane 2nd Ed. LTE. From what I've observed there, Android Pay refuses to function if it detects a custom rom, or in general any rom which has not been digitally signed by Google. That makes, at least for me, any unofficial port of AW 2.0 to the SW3 moot.

I wouldn't even want to pay with my gadgets and where I live, it's not wide spread anyway. I would still like to have aw2 posted though. Different people, different opinions
Dont think its possible. AW is not open source and we still need drivers and stuff. Correct me if im wrong ( based on facts).

The Play Store would suffice, considering that I'm using an iPhone with it.
I think that is posible.
Developers did It with gear 2, that isnt wear.
If they can do It with gear 2, we can do It with sw3

Yes it's possible and yes I will try it. But I am sure SafetyNet things won't work as the ROM definitely won't pass CTS but that's only ****in Android Pay which doesn't work then
Sources are there (thanks AsteroidOS and protodevanov) and we can use the same steps like compile ROM for a phone as the SW3 is nothing else than a Device with an SoC like a phone have.
We maybe just need to extract some blobs from latest FW (1.5.2) and it could be theoretically possible that security patches are backstabbed to November or August but that's not a problem as December patch was more a SafetyNet patch than something else (so it's more a patch to **** you flashaholics).
But honestly who wants to hack your watch
So all in all its possible, maybe we can compile the Preview in time only but better than nothing
Your PDesire
sounds good that you'retrying to make a 2.0 rom for our watch!
according to the petition on change.org ( https://www.change.org/p/sony-android-wear-2-on-sony-smartwatch-3) there might be some people using your rom if you're really able to make one
Android pay in the watch won't work, but will if affect using NFC on the phone if that watch is connected to it?

A cheap varient of what?
A chromecast is £30
You can get 2nd hand old versions on ebay for like £10
Prices in UK pounds
It depends what you are actually trying to achieve - if you want to cast your entire screen that's the best way
If you just want to cast a video playing on your phone eg YouTube any device with the YouTube app on it that's plugged in the TV can receive it from your phone
If it's a saved video on your phone you can cast that with any 3rd party casting app if you have a device plugged into your tv that has the corrispending receiver app
Greetings,
I'm interested in buying this phone mostly because it seems to have a good camera on paper for my <20k INR budget and the UI is a personal favourite of mine, just below the OxygenOS.
I would love to hear your experience with the camera, if it supports the GCam mod properly, and does the chunky design of the phone really make you reconsider buying it?
I would also love to know if you've tried anything to make the hdr10 work outside the YouTube app.
Thank you
I intend to get one if its easy to root the phone. Is it possible?

Yeah, from what I gathered online, all moto phones have a very similar and simple way to root them.
I remember having to write a letter to Xiaomi on why I wanted to root my phone and wait a week just to have the ability to unlock the bootloader of my Redmi note 4 lol. Moto's method is definitely way easier than that.

if you're purchasing now, then there's no ROMs, TWRP, or anything.. but u can easily unlock bootloader and use ADB coz its Stock Android.. so if you want custom ROMs.. now you can just wait.. (if any ROM developer sees this.. if u own a Moto G40F.. pls make ROMs for this device.. thanks)
