Hello,
Could anyone help me? I keep getting a SIM card memory is full message although I have removed all of my contacts from there as well as deleted all of the messages. Also, how could I get my emails to be stored in the SD card? Just one more question, Everytime I try to access the phone stttings, I get a "phone not ready, retry in 15 seconds". does anyone know what this is about???
Looks like your SIM card is defect. If possible try if your SIM card works on an other phone properly.
G.
No problems
I have tried to use my SIM card in another phone and it worked just fine. Could it be that it is automatically storing all of the emails and messages into the SIM card? How could i configure the phone to store those things into the Storage card instead???

I'm having a problem unlocking the SIM. I have Incredible 2 unlock by code ( 8 digi)
ON HTC incredible 2
Settings:Security, there is a menu item for "Disable SIM card lock". + enter unlock code
but after enter unlock code , Incredible 2 will reboot
My problem is: After unlocking SIM I try to switch to GSM mode. It says "There is no SIM card on your device. Your device will switch to CDMA mode now". I tried number of working SIMs of other people phones... No success.
Change Simcard ( GSM) , turn on Htc incredible 2 , Settings>Call>Preferred Network>GSM/UMTS Mode always show "There is no SIM card on your device. Your device will switch to CDMA mode now"
I go to Settings - >Security->Disable SIM lock. It says "Sim lock disabled"
I can't make a call , i can't use GSM/UMTS mode ,I'm not in US
Try google search :

No solution ???
Sounds like the SIM isn't compatible. I thought I read somewhere that certain older SIM cards wouldn't work, not sure about that though.
Perhaps you can get a logcat and see what specific error you are getting. When I did this with mine, I saw something like "invalid CID...".
I tested an AT&T SIM card and it worked just fine.

Thanks mattwood2000
but how to get a logcat ?? Tool or use command line logcat in sdk http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/logcat.html
??
I recently got back to the US from France. Before leaving I called support, unlocked the SIM card, and updated my PRL before leaving from JFK. When I arrived in France, I got no reception and was unable to switch to GSM mode. I ended up not having a working phone for the entire trip.
I get back to the US and complain to customer service and they offer to replace the SIM card. After taking my phone apart I realized that the CSR at the Verizon store had inserted my SIM card backwards. I turned the SIM card around and the phone now is able to switch to global mode. The correct way to insert the card is with the cut corner of the SIM card outside of the slot on the right (if you are looking at the card in the slot).
Not saying this is your problem, but it's definitely something to check.
ouch...that hurts!!
I'll make sure to double check mine when I touch down next week.
For logcat, I use Eclipse and DDMS. Just setup eclipse per Google's instructions and once you connect your phone (enable USB debugging), you will see a logcat tab next to the console. Just look in there...lots of data will be spit out of your phone.

I have checked and tested with 05 set of HTC Incredible 2
. There has only 01 set can't be unlocked and also can't switched into GSM mode.
I thought the problem comes from the set itself, not because of the way of inserting Sim card.
Thank Petitsinge for your support.
@ Mattwood2000 : tks , I will test for sure and then inform you.

Unfortunately at work!
I looked at your logcat and that is the same as I had with my European SIM - I guess the problem is that there are no local cells that accept that carrier/SIM card. What carrier is the SIM for?
I tried my phone with an AT&T card and it worked just fine.
I suspect that when I get to Europe next week there will be no problem with my card.
Can you try another card?
*EDIT*
One other though I had is what kind of SIM card - micro, etc.?
If its a micro you will need an adapter or careful hands to get it to seat correctly.
I'm having the same exact issue as the OP any resolution? I get "Network or SIM card error" when trying to access GSM options.
Thanks!

Greetings:
I just sold my HTC M8 and naturally I removed the sim card and now that I'm trying to use it again in
a brand new phone, it says "no sim "! I tried with my OnePlus ONE unit and that gives me the same error too!!
I just took delivery of my new iPhone 6+ (unlocked) from Apple store, same thing! "no sim, please insert a sim card with no sim lock"!!
Anyone can tell me what have I done? Did M8 locked it?!! All I did was restored the M8 to Rogers Stock Rom and turned it off!!
Any help is much appreciated.
Lol phone does not lock your SIM card.
Read the message again. The answer is there. "Insert SIM card with no SIM lock". You need to remove the password on your SIM card.
Btw, entering wrong password multiple times will lock it forever. You will have to get a new SIM card.
Hi,
I am from India. I bought this phone last month and I didn't find any problem with my phone till yesterday. I ported my number from Vodafone GSM to Reliance GSM for some better tariffs. When I inserted my SIM card it restarted telling me that "New SIM Card Inserted. Restarting..". But at the next complete boot the phone restarted again telling that "SIM Card Removed. Restarting". I didn't remove the SIM Card or use anything. It is restarting whenever I put that SIM Card. I have tried replacing a duplicate SIM Card and again my phone is doing the same. Seeing many websites, I have tried blowing and sucking the slot so that may remove any dusts. (If any). And tried using the SIM Card in all other phones. It perfectly works on all phones. In my mobile I have tried using all SIM Cards. Everything works in my phone except this Reliance GSM. What to do??
Thanks,
Jagannath Sankar
try using different sim slot

Check if the device detects other SIM card, to discard that the SIM trail is working.

I checked other SIM and it is working. I guess I have issue with my SIM then.
But after flashing ROM, I am getting this:
I hope you didn't format all, otherwise, you'll lose your calibration data, IMEI and more. If the device is detecting a different SIM, then your SIM is the issue, you can change the SIM card from your provider, the surface might be scratched.
flash nvram and nvdata file
