I don't get why the TWRP recovery is officially available for every Z-series phone but the Z2 Play

It is very strange, even ROM's have Official support for Z2 Force, Z Play & Z Force... but not the Z2 Play.
The main reason is that no developer has the interest to develop for the official version, as any developer can create an "Official version" once they follow the "rules".
I have thought about trying it out, but first I need to figure out how to make an unofficial version of a ROM/Recovery.
What really sucks is having a Verizon, locked down version. If you want a customized andriod, pay a little extra and get a pixel.

the Z2 is 2 weeks old
the Z2 is Awesome but i am in love with the M8 Shape and dimensions.
what do you think?
The Sony Xperia Z2 is not new but it's better than the Z1.
I would only keep the Z2 if battery life, water proof and the nice
glass back was something i cared about a ton.
besides that i like the fact that my rooted m8 can be converted to either
a Developer edition or Google Play Edition and so on.
It's developer support is unmatched in my opinion.
The M8 could get lollipop but the Z2 could take longer.
So far, I'll keep the M8.

The M8 has lollipop. Had it for a while now.
Yes, The M8 has lollipop but the M8 can be converted to any version of the device (with S-OFF).
Developer Edition, Unlocked Edition, Google Play Edition, Carrier Edition(Tmobile,ATT,Sprint), and hopefully in the future
Windows Phone Edition(which i don't care all that much about).
The Z2 doesn't have lollipop yet officially?

So I'm looking for a nice 5 to 5.2" phone to fill the hole my xperia z3 compact left in my heart! Does anyone have this variant of the zuk z2? Is it rocking a more stable rom? I know MWC is just around the corner. Looking for a little help deciding. Thanks!

There is no such thing as international version. There are Chinese aka ZUK Z2 and Indian aka Lenovo Z2 Plus.
The stock ZUI is a big mess and not very polished, although it's frequently updated. There is official stable Nougat available.
Other than that, there is a great support for this device from the custom ROM devs, probably 2nd most popular SD820 Chinese phone after Mi5.
For the price it goes for, there's nothing else that even comes near it. The base Mi5 costs around 40 bucks more (3/32).
Now if you're coming from Z3 compact, you'll notice a difference, since this device (zuk z2) is as big as the original Xperia Z. I've came from Moto X 2013 and even after months I can still notice it's a bit larger than I was used to. Other than that, it's a great device.

I've bought my device on Banggood for 169$ with use of coupons. Shipment to my country (Poland) took about 20 days. Installing TWRP is "easy-peasy" and from this you have open way to installing various roms. If you won't like ZUI you can try official MOKEE rom (which gives more AOSP expreience with great battery life). I've flashed ZUI based on Nougat debloated by user Francko76 and installed Action Launcher 3. Works great as my daily driver and by the end of day (with my usage) I still have about 20% battery left. As I know, most frequent issues with this device are antenna and usb port.

Its huuuuugggeeee!
Just love the way our great developers have been supporting this device after it was literally left to die in the dark by Lenovo.

While the hype is all on One plus and Poco phones, our Zuk 2 plus is an amazing underdog. It's almost three years and the support we get from developers is way amazing. I won't be surprised even if the development support ends in coming years ; it has enough of its days.
Zuk 2 plus will live as one of the best phone ever created by lenovo ?.
A very Big thanks to all the DEVELOPERS for their HARD WORK. Bless you all.

To be sure, it was an accident on Lenovo's part. No thanks to them at all, the device not only survives, but thrives. Android 10 ROMs, even in beta stages, run smooth as butter. Don't number its days yet, I believe the Z2 plus will continue to recieve developer support, in one way or the other, until Android 12. Or so I can hope, and as long as they do, I have no reason to change phones. This is my first smartphone, and it looks like it will last 5 years with ease, with perhaps a battery replacement in a year from now.
ZUK Z2 is great phone
The ZUK Z2 was a good cell phone, but now present someone problems. The most important (for me) is the overheating. For example, when play PUGB the ZUK Z2 it gets really hot. Also happened when i'm browsing or chatting. I haven't no idea, I think battery may be the problem, in a one moment la baterĂa se descarga a nivel de segundos, y la carga era muy lenta. It was solved when you turn off the chance of chance and I turned it again.
Do they have any idea?
Jean Pierre.

Sadly, no. Honor 8 lite can't keep up with power users.
its a kirin chip so development is slightly slow.
developing and evolving slowly. Only 2 ROM at the moment but will evolve for sure with OpenKirin team.
not looking great right now.
If you're looking for a development-friendly phone, Honor is not the solution for you. We do have a program where we give out bootloader unlock codes to a select number of people every once in a while, but there is no official support for unlocking your bootloader. This results is a very small development community.
Essentially this phone reached its 3rd years anniversary. It doesn't seems there's much ROM development going anymore.
I tried to look if the G5 and G5 Plus ROM are interchangeable. I can't find a concrete answer, but some threads suggested their hardware change render the ROM are not interchangeable due to different device driver.
Is it safe to say the Moto G5 Plus ROM development is finally coming to its end?
I do not think it will arrive yet, the problem is that the Moto G5 Plus is a phone stagnant in what is development in roms, Many communities and groups in Telegram have tried to achieve those that few have achieved, Install GSIs in the G5 Plus, If it ever succeeds, the safest thing is that the development of roms and GSIs will be as great as the beginning.
