Bootloop, I'm stuck on Google + padlock screen - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
My Nexus 5X was rooted, unlocked and with the last security update (N2G47Z)
I was using it this after-noon and it freeze and then reboot twice in 15/20 minutes. But now, it's bootloop with the warning about unlock bootloader.
I'm able to put my phone on fastboot mode so I relock bootloader but it's still bootloop
I have try reflash latest 7.1.2 image but still bootloop
Is there something I can do ??
Thanks for your help

try re-open bootloader and flash last image(or try with old verrsion like MM)

I try but flashing the first 7.1.2 image but the phone still bootlooping so I let it bootloop all night long and this morning, I'm able to configure it (because of the factory reset).
I hope I have fix the problem.

Bad luck. After setting Android (email, Wi-Fi, ...), the phone start to download apps and then reboot and bootloop
I have flash Marshmallow 6.0.1 but still bootloop.
And I can't enter download mode to try flashing TOT file.
Don't know what to do, apart buying a new phone.

[Q] Bootloop help - Nexus Root Toolkit flash failed

I have a 32gig flo, I was running 4.4.4 with TWRP and ElementalX kernel. I tried to flash 5.02 with NRT and it all went wrong. First, while flashing it got stuck at the bootloader screen - pics / screenshots here. Then I realized the bootloader was locked, so I tried to unlock the bootloader with NRT and it got stuck in a boot loop. I pulled battery and tried the “Flash Stock + Unroot” feature to go back to stock 4.4 and the command prompt came up and said it was successful, but it's stuck in another bootloop, and now I can't even get back to the bootloader menu. I didn't use force flash mode and it said to try that but i can't get to that point. am I screwed? :crying:
edit: got into bootloader menu, used force flash mode and it's stuck in a boot loop again.
I just realized there were some text documents in Simple Notepad that i would have liked to keep. Is there any way I can recover them?

[Q] stuck on system update

Hey guys, got a weird situation here, search on forums didn't find a solution. My gf's N7 is stock and locked BL, tried today to update from 5.1 to 5.1.1 with no success. It restarted, started the system update but seems not to be able to finish it, reboot and then restart the system update, ending in a loop. Reboots, begins to update, never finishes, reboots and again and again.
Here is what i tried: Turning it off; doesn't work, it starts updating again ending in the same loop.
Going into BL; reboot to BL and boot, same thing. Going to recovery just goes on update system. Booting the device from BL only turns to a black screen where nothing happens.
Is there any solution without unlocking the BL flashing a factory image?

You could try to go into recovery and sideload an OTA that you manually download.
See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013/general/nexus-7-2013-stock-ota-urls-t3083546
That might get it out of the bootloop. Hope that helps.

I said i can't get into recovery, and its not a bootloop. It's a loop between boot and system update that never finishes.

Thought you said you could get into bootloader...
Nevermind, I see what you wrote.... sorry, other than flashing a fresh system, I have no other ideas.

Finished update, now stuck on google logo. Trying to unlock BL through fastboot, stucks on "erase userdata" forever.

Joined the bootloop club, what can I do?

5x got hot and turned off. Won't turn back on. Am I screwed?
Well, hope you have your bootloader unlocked or some sort of warranty, otherwise you're gonna have a tough time flashing custom boot images.

Which images have you tried? The only ones that worked for me was the Oreo 8.1 update, after that the phone ran smoothly.
I'm going through the same problem, here are few symptoms : 1. Phone doesn't boot. It gets stuck between boot to doesn't boot at all.
2. I can access boot loader but cannot flash recovery. The phone dow not boot into recovery.
What should be done? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Search for 5x bootloop fix here and elsewhere. Was heavily covered when it was really bad starting around June. Too many things to try to repost, like putting it in the freezer for a while to get it to temporarily boot.
Try this fix which disables the big cores if you can.

Phone won't start but it keeps booting to TWRP for some reason.

Nexus 5X DEAD/Bootloop

My Nexus 5x that was running 8.1 just randomly turned off yesterday and won't boot into android. Sometime later i tried to turn it back on and it worked and it turned off by itself 2 mins later. i somehow manged it to get into fastboot mode and I then unlocked the bootloader and flashed the stock firmware . But that did not help at all , in fact the phone was now completely dead and it only goes into fastboot sometimes while the other times it being stuck in a bootloop . while luckily when it went into fastboot, i have tried installing different boot images like boot4core but it still wont do anything its really weird, sometimes it doesn't respond to any key combination while sometimes it would go normally into fastboot. Need help , i Have no clue!! plzzz
Same Problem here! Running 8.1 and tap Uppdate Chrome and Alexa App, that the Phone freez and Reboot. After reboot he try to load the apps but freez. Now it wont boot to system and recovery say no command. When i now will enter Recovery the Phone reboots.
No open bootloader and no root. Stock 8.1 Rom from Google
Edit: Try to start Phone in Secure Mode (When Google Logo Popps up press Volume -) Say the System is Corrupt and do a Factory Reset. After Reset the Phone stuck on Boot too
Edit Edit: OK think thats the CPU Hardware Bug. Phone dont start anymore...

My daughters phone just started doing the same thing this morning. Haven't gone through any tests yet, but it is constantly restarting. Can't get it to go into recovery through normal means.

Question Got in a bootloop, I'm sure there's a simple fix but I can't remember what it is.

I'm rooted. Sideloaded the newest OTA.
Usually at this step I would reboot and it would say I've lost root, then I would go to the bootloader and flash the (newest) patched boot.img and be good to go.
But this time, instead of booting first, I went straight to the bootloader and flashed the patched boot.img after flashing the OTA.
Now I'm stuck in a bootloop. It boots to the G logo, has the loading bar, and then eventually just reboots and repeats.
How do I get out of this bootloop?
Thanks in advance for any help!!

EDIT: Now when I boot it says your device is corrupted, and then goes to the Google logo (not the G) and just sits there for a couple minutes then turns the device off.
Official Google Android Flash Tool (OEM Unlocking needs to be toggled on - you may not have to manually unlock the bootloader - the "site" will do that on its own)

Did you leave any modules installed before you updated?

Ya I did. I got past the bootloop by reflashing the OTA, but are things broken now? Is the fix now to disable any modules, reflash the patched boot.img, and be good to go?
EDIT: can't disable any modules, because there technically aren't any because it's not rooted. I reflashed the patched boot.img, we'll see what happens...

When rebooting after rooting again, at the Google logo, hold volume down, it'll vibrate and boot to safe mode. Afterwards, just reboot your phone. Modules will be disabled.

Thank you!
So the patched boot.img did cause it to bootloop again, but doing what you said allowed it to boot normally and keep root. Thanks!!
